Well, we'll have to produce someone who's more than a mid-carder then, won't we?

The first time I ever saw a chance for a England wrestler to be WWE Champion was the British Bulldog. But his drug habit destroyed that from happening for his wrestling career.
Another time was Wade Barrett when he was feuding with Randy Orton in late 2010. Of course, the WWE didn't pull the trigger on that one either.
As for the current UK stars from England?? Don't see it happening.

Next you see him on Smackdown with the Corre and that went no where. I'd have loved to see it. They put the title on Sheamus pretty early, should have done it with Wade as well.

It could easily be Pete Dunne if they move him up or Tyler Bate if they would get him away from NXT UK.

I want to see a lesbian albino left handed midget eskimo.
I don't care if she wins a title, I just want to see one.

They should have pulled the trigger on Wade Barrett
Nexus was so over, I remember pre summer slam they had a show in town and nexus was on superstars or whatever just doing a promo and they had so much heat and were the most over guys by far and Jericho, taker and Kane were all on the show.
Wade was the glue, the rest of the group could have been changed a per needed but if they remained a group of killers lead by wade, like before summer slam it could have been huge. The job at summer slam killed their heat then everything post SS seemed like it was being done to remove their heat, I remember how everyone was still on board with cena being a member and still by mania they were garbage

Wade Barrett was super popular when he did the whole king of the ring and the bad news angle too

Wade Barrett is a great talent. WWE had something special with Nexus. I think they should bring the group back with new wrestlers.

Barrett was not nearly ready to be WWE championship in 2010 and the Nexus angle was trash the moment Bryan got fired. It should have ended at Summerslam.

Sheamus came up from ECW for one month and beat Cena for the title, so I don't think the not nearly ready is right here on Wade. Wade had more going for him than Sheamus did and the Nexus angle in the lead up to Summerslam was fantastic. I'm not saying Summerslam's loss is the reason it failed, but it lost a ton of momentum. Wade's angle with Cena and Orton should have led to him winning and then dropping it to Cena. Looking back it made perfect sense, but it's WWE so logic doesn't play a factor at times. Just my opinion, and you're certainly entitled to yours.

Both men winning the belt so early would have been on level of having Ryback beat Punk.

Regal in 08 would have been better than Barrett in the Nexus imo.

Anyone saying Barrett should have won it in 2010 is trippin'.
Drew winning it and being the first British champion was enough for me. I don't see anyone on the current roster (both main and NXTUK) doing it.

Will Ospreay is the only guy I could ever see doing it but I cant see him ever getting to the WWE. There's never been a English guy that Ive looked at that could carry the title yet. Bulldog had his moment but I feel like he peaked with the IC and never would have worked, drugs or not, as the WWE Champion. Same with Wade, he was entertaining but just never had "it"

Vince doesn't want an English WWE champion - never has. Irish absolutely, a Celt like Drew, yes...An Englishman, no. Otherwise, they would've put the title on Barrett, Regal and especially Bulldog - even if only for a short-lived/test run. They could've built Burchill into something, but didn't bother. Oh, and the people who are saying Wade wasn't ready to be champ, are the ones "trippin'".
