Quite gutted by the news that Corporal Kirchner has passed away... In my eyes he was really underrated in the WWF. Attachment Deleted

What? First i'm hearing of this...terrible news. Got to see him wrestle the iron sheik at a HS show the fall of '86. Also was lucky enough to have the bearded variant of his LJN figure. RIP

I would LOVE a Leatherface figure made by Chella!

He should have had a longer wwf career. What's the reason he didn't? He was talented.

He should have had a longer wwf career. What's the reason he didn't? He was talented. I guess in the beginning WWF had big plans for him, as he was a replacement for Sgt. Slaughter who had left the WWF: this explains why he got 3 regular LJN figures (clean shaved face, stubble and full beard). However, replacing Sgt. Slaughter, that's filling some pretty big shoes. Bare in mind that before this great opportunity, he was a jobber in the WWF known as RT Reynolds. He became Corporal Kirchner, after Vince discovered he'd been a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. The audience didn't like him as much as they liked Sgt. Slaughter, he was a legitimate badass, but also pretty stiff in the ring: that was a fatal mix for his downfall in '80s WWF... Personally I immediately liked him as a kid. Ofcourse his greatest fame would come in Japan as Leatherface/Super Leather, being the toughest hardcore wrestler in 1992.
