Same reason when you buy a 2022 model car in 2021. Even tho you purchased it in 2021, it’s still a 2022 car. But this is a toy, not an automobile. Same premise tho. New box art means new year. Elite 89 and after are 2022. Just because some retailers got them in 2021 doesn’t change that they’re 2022.

Honestly, had a hard time choosing for the opposite reason as everyone else. I'm not much of a Legends fan and I found it near impossible to choose three figures I loved from this year. I mean, there were a ton of figures I *liked*, but outside of the Rhea Ripley and Kushida figures there were no figures that made me go bananas. Also, none of my favorites had Elites this year outside of Rhea. It was a pretty dull year for me overall with a bunch of filler that I probably could have done without.
But considering what we've already seen for 2022, I know next year will be much better.

I can’t say there was much that I was desperate to have, despite still getting a lot of figures and liking them. Maybe that played into why I liked Cactus Jack and Macho a lot, as I’m not a huge legends person either.

I don’t think there was a standout home run figure this year. There were a few good figures but nothing that really got me pumped.

Kushida's definitely a figure that deserves some recognition here, they put a lot into that one. If he only gets 1 Elite, that's a great one to get.

About Kushida. I was completely flummoxed when I got him how they did so accurate a cosplay attire. Then, when I was just doing this poll, I remembered that Mattel was the company who sponsored the "Hoverboard" design in the movie so there would have been no issues with trademark infringement.
Still. Glad to have him. He's about as amazing a figure of him as we could ever expect.

This was a pretty good year for figures. I bet I know who wins already. Hollywood Hogan.

Me realizing there are no Basics on the list The funny thing that they've started to step their game up on certain basics. As stated elsewhere, the Toni Storm basic had sculpted parts, as have some other basics, while those new MVP and Raul basics they just revealed are God Tier as far as the line goes.

My stand outs for the year were Bulldog, Kama, Lawler, Ddp, Beefcake and the T/Piper two pack.
Echo the others saying not one must have tho. We didn’t really get a big name first time in the line this year.

We didn’t really get a big name first time in the line this year. You know, if I collected Legends, I'd have to say the Kama was one of the better figures for the year. It really catches your attention.
But I feel like a lot of people would have rather completed the NOD than just have a straight Kama figure.

Yeah it’s probably my figure of the year to be fair as well.

My 3 were RSC Cactus Jack, Legends 11 Bam Bam Bigelow, and UE7 Hollywood Hogan in that order
Cactus is great all around, Bam Bam is nice because it’s another ECW figure and new belt, Hogan was long awaited and was my first UE
Overall one of the weaker years for me honestly, the current stuff just wasn’t for me outside of E88 and the flashbacks didn’t really excite me and if they did then the execution wasn’t that good like WM22 Edge or 2001 Jeff Hardy
2022 already looking good tho

Gotta be Hollywood for me Brothers even though it feels like he’s been out for years. Yeah... Hollywood should win this hands down - but because of the weird timing, he might get pushed out/over-taken.

I think I would have to go with either RSC Cactus Jack or Warrior.
