Excited to share the 5th Annual Figure of the Year Survey! In each of the past 4 years we have had over 1,000 responses and look forward to continuing to build it this year. Notes:- Figure list was double checked by a kind Mattel employee. This is the official 2021 list. Some very popular figures (UE Taker and Kane, E 89-91, Ringside Ciampa) are considered 2022 Figures. - For the overall vote, we are going to stay consistent to prior years and include 2 packs. - Is this an imperfect science? Yes. Is this meant to be fun? YES! - Could we argue about what figures should be on this list because they are already for sale on Ringside? NO. I’m surprised as hell that Legends Warrior won last year? It wasn’t even the best figures in that series. Oh boy.
Honestly, I think the SDCC Slaughter might be the best of the year. Love it.

My votes are in. My overall best Mattel of the year (and probably best wrestling figure of the year) is the RSC Cactus Jack.

Great year, although next year might be even harder with the quality of the figures already, just in 89-91. E87 Asuka was my favorite of the year. Big fan of Cream of the Crop Macho Man, too.

Chases shoulda been included. DiBiase chase, for example, was much superior than the common. Also preferred the chase Macho.

Disappointing to see that Elite 89 didn't make the cut.
Otherwise, Damian Priest would be my overall figure of the year.
Top 3 I went with were:
1. Ultimate Edition Jeff Hardy
2. Ultimate Edition 10 John Cena
3. Legends 12 Kevin Nash

Why is a figure released in 2021 not considered a 2021 release? Same reason when you buy a 2022 model car in 2021. Even tho you purchased it in 2021, it’s still a 2022 car. But this is a toy, not an automobile. |
