Well, the Valley Plaza one stays open here. That's good news for scalpers who like to buy whole cases from the seedy manager. But atleast they do get some newer stuff, and their WWE Classics are cheaper than TRU.

Thank God, the last two KB's around me aren't on List A or List B.

Well, the one near me is on List B, the list of potential closings. That is sad news. I used to work in that store for over 2 years. It's surprising to me as they have always done good business and are in the largest mall in the area. This will leave no KBs around me at all if it does close.
EDIT: Just found out by searching news reports that the 2nd list is for stores that they are trying to reach better lease deals with and if they can't, they will close. The mall that this store is in is known for charging an arm and a leg for rent.

Yes! Safe! I remember KB was the only good store in the Oak Brook mall. Once it left the mall went to the preps, because everything else at that mall is preppy. If KB leaves the North Riverside Mall, then the whole mall goes to the blacks.

Yay! My KB is safe from the chopping block! They still get decent WWE stuff (Cs3 Bret Hart and RA8.5 Big Show w/ tattoos), but pretty much suck on everything else. They've gotten the last few series of Simpsons figs (13 & 14), so maybe the last two will pop up there eventually.

Both of the KBs in my town are staying in business. I don't buy too much from there however. They do get some hard to find items from time to time though. I am glad they are staying open.

The one near my school already closed, but for some reason the one near my house has evaded all closings, even though nobody ever shops there.

Wow the one near me is still staying open, I was really hoping that they would have closed, the staff in there treats everyone like crap, no customer service at all. Most of the other employees are miserable in there because they hate the company. I could totally do without a K-B store in my area, would not miss it all, and I wouldn't feel bad for those people that lost their jobs just because of the snotty stuck up attitude they had. I say good riddance to K-B

Its still kinda sad that all those KB stores are closing. Wal-Mart crushes yet another old institution... I recall the days of Kiddy City before they were all gone. Soon KB will likely be gone. And what remains? TRU is all thats left and I honestly think once that happens, WM will focus on closing them down, too.

I don't even buy from my local KB Toys in Providence Place in Providence RI anymore, everytime I go in there it is the same thing, the quickest I went in there and got out was 3 minutes, I used to be in there for like 15 minutes at least. I don't see how KB Toys can rebound right now, unless they change their target market and work with toy manufacturers to make collector series specifically for collectors, just look at TRU and WalMart, Transformers Energon Megatron and Classic Superstars 3 pack are exclusive for WalMart, TRU got CS Tag Team, WrestleMania Series and Energon Optimus and Megatron 2 pack. KB needs to do the same, hopefully it isn't too late.

It's to late for KB most are expecting all stores to close sometime in 2005, the deadbeats that work in mine are waiting for the store to go out so they can collect unemployment and not work for a while since they do nothing anyway to help the customer out, they just look at most people with their snobby attitudes, I know a few collectors don't even shop there anymore.
