What protagonists have you disliked playing as? Did they ruin the game for you or did you carry on playing?
Jin from Ghost Of Tsushima would be mine. The guy was vanilla as hell. There was literally nothing interesting about him which made it difficult to care about his intentions and the overall story. The game was somewhat fun but just couldn't keep playing.

Niko Bellic in GTA IV.
I still haven't finished a full playthrough of that game. He was a poor choice for a main character - as a side character, he might have been ok, but no, I never connected with him and it spoilt the game a bit.

I really didn't care for the switch to Jack Kelso in LA Noire. Cole was an interesting and flawed character. Jack just...showed up and saved the day at the end. He was so boring and really didn't add anything, not enough to switch to the main character at the very end at least.

I didn't mind playing as Kelso, but I wanted to get back to playing as Phelps ASAP. |

The Prince from Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy is my pick. Just the whiniest character.

The one that comes to mind, is thankfully one you don't play much as, Jack Marston in Red Dead 1. You go from playing a badass as John, to a whinny teen. I really hated that two of the coolest looking outfits in the game, you could only get with him.

I second this pick, it was such a let down from being John all game then to play as Jack.. no thanks rockstar. I had very little fun with Crane from Dying Light, his choices didn’t make a whole lot of sense and I thought they could have done more to give us a reason to feel for Crane aside from most everyone around him dying, Aside from his poor character, I absolutely loved the game and am optimistic about 2 and have high hopes for it to be great. |

The Spy from TF2.. That arrogant smirk, those witty one liners, his expensive and very fashionable suits along with the ski mask.. whenever i played as him i felt dirty as i stabbed ppl in the back like a coward and tampered with the Engineers' equipment all while crawling back into the shadows after a crime had just been commited on the battlefield and to top it off, he'd smoke those exotic cigarettes over your fallen body while laughing with that smug look on his face, the dude sickens me.. Now the Demo man, that's a character you can get behind!. Always drunk on the job whilst spewing out Braveheart speeches as he carries the team to victory.. "I'LL BE GENTLE!" He was the hero for generations, the hero we didn't deserve and didn't know we needed until now.. bless you Demo man, you magnificent stereotypical stallion of a man!  |
