Figured we could discuss books we have read to recommend
I have Bret Hart's book which is fantastic
Bob Holly's which was very interesting
Bischoff's Controversy Creates Cash Shawn Michaels Heartbreak and Triumph which were alright but were WWE books so I'm sure stuff was held back
I just read Titan SInking, decline of WWF in 1995 which was really good

I always mention Jimmy Valiant's book, Woo Mercy Daddy, it is over 600 pages. It's slightly similar to Bret's in that everything is mentioned but unlike Bret making tape recordings, all of Jimmy's book is from memory. He has an incredible memory even now. Unfortunately once Jimmy sold his last few copies at virtual signings, he does not intend to have any more copies made so you'd have to find one on a secondary market.

Yeah, I have read quite a few wrestling books. For Biographies, Bret's has been the best in my opinion. I really enjoyed that one. I just finished the Buddy Rogers biography, and that one was very good. I have also read Ric Flair's bio too, not bad.

I sold all my wrestling autobiographies or biographies except the few that I really enjoyed.
So to me these ones are worth reading or I found enjoyable...
Bret Hart's autobiography
The Death of WCW biography
Under The Mat - written by Diana Hart Smith (such a crazy book that one is)
Pure Dynamite: Tommy Billington
Is Wrestling Fixed? I Didn't Know It Was Broken: Bill Apter
At one time I owned a lot though. I had 3 Jericho books, Edge's, Two Foley books, Rock's book, Austin's book, Piper's two books, Terry Funk's book, but a lot of these books I just lost interest in reading again or didn't enjoy the first time around. I kept the ones that I knew I could read again and still be interested in reading them.

I would say to avoid Rey Mysterios book because it’s basically just a cliff notes version of his career.

I sold all my wrestling autobiographies or biographies except the few that I really enjoyed. So to me these ones are worth reading or I found enjoyable... I haven't read either in forever but I remember Foley's Have a Nice Day and Kurt's It's True, It's True were really good at the time.

If you're in the market for an Andre the Giant bio, by all mean SKIP the WWE version. Go with The Eighth Wonder of the World: The True Story of André the Giant by Bertrand Hébert and Pat Laprade.

www.crowbarpress.comThey have books that you might not find on secondary markets. I would highly advise not to read Blackjack Mulligan's book. It was awful& just full of tall tales.

I actually just received the Titan Sinking trilogy in the mail a few days ago. Only about 15 pages in, but so far it has been a pretty enjoyable read. In terms of more obscure wrestler autobiographies, I really enjoyed Hardcore Holly's book for some reason. |

I actually just received the Titan Sinking trilogy in the mail a few days ago. Only about 15 pages in, but so far it has been a pretty enjoyable read. You probably hit it right on the head with that description. Also, at this point in my wrestling fandom, I feel like I've heard most stories a million times that involve the big names or controversies. I could teach a seminar at a community college about the Monday Night Wars or the Montreal Screwjob at this point. Reading about lesser-known guys and hearing fresh stories is most appealing these days. |

I would definitely say Bret Hart's autobiography is a must. That book is like a lesson in pro wrestling history, let alone his own life and career.
I also loved Eddie Guerrero's one, amongst others.

Just finished reading Mayor Kane, Glen Jacobs autobiography. I would recommend it, it was a bit short though but I really enjoyed it.
