Stupid question here: How many people here saw the bam bam perfect wave in person at retail Not even once. I also haven't seen Mr. T, Typhoon, Albano, Vader, or anyone from Series 9. I only have typhoon thanks to someone here never saw him at retail |

How many more reveals did we see this weekend and yet still no Stone Cold. We got two Mick Foley figs in this line before 1 Steve Austin. No shade on Mrs Foley’s baby boy but cmon now. How are we this deep into the line without the one of the top 3 biggest names in the history of the business?

I was able to purchase series 1 and 3 in store and the rest was online. I love this line but it is tough to find in stores. I'm like everyone I wish this makes it to mattel creations one day or ringside.

Sometimes you get lines that work out, even if it's eventually, and sometimes you get lines you have to abandon.
For me, Superstars has become one I have to abandon.
This line seems to have mostly died at all the Walmarts in my area. They all have The Rock, Macho, and Typhoon. I've never seen anything after those waves.
Even buying the Perfect wave for $40 apiece at a Con (which I could have done) would have been a mistake because I haven't seen any wave beyond that.
And I chalk it up to Walmart exclusivity because most other lines you can find online at some point. But not with Walmart 🤷

Ive luckily been able to find every figure I wanted on shelves. its taken luck and some travel but Ive done it.

I love this line, but don't collect it. The only one I had was Doink (of course) until Tatanka arrived in the mail yesterday afternoon and it is one of my favorite figures ever.
Tatanka was my first favorite wrestler when I started watching the WWF in the early 90s. His more traditional look with the loincloth is definitely more iconic, but I love that for this one they went with his debut attire because it definitely sets it apart. There was an Elite based on the same look a few years ago although this blows it out of the water with addition of the entrance attire.

The problem is the product gets out to certain places extremely early and then every gets impatient waiting the 4-6 months to when they are actually to supposed to be in store Seeing a figure once doesnt make it easily available. The andre wave came out in december once, then reappeared in late february and is still being put out. That did not happen for s6 and s7 which were only available for a short time period. S5,S6,S8, S9 preorders did not exist. and s7 which did have preorders were cancellwd in february. S4+ has not been made available at retail in canada. Doink the clown IS STILL NOT a pegwarmer despite 7 months of release. (Obvious supply/demand issue.) Lastly not everyone uses ebay out of trust issues with shipping. And those who do are looking at 35$/figure on average after ebay tax/sales tax/shipping costs. Sure some people have done this for s5/s6/s7/s8 but is it realistic long term? Thats losing 45-60$ per series. That adds up. Not everyone can afford to waste money like that. Having only one pegwarmer (kane) will not help. In fact the reasons new cases were not being put out more = pegs are full. Red pants hogan is the reason many people saw their walmarts sending back fresh cases to online fullfillment centers (wm.com sales) because they had no room. Don't forget that managers nor employees can reorder cases on demand. It is random until july. The 2 per case kane was a bad decision. It is simple at this point. High volume stores = high turnover = Many chances. How many high volume stores you think there are? By the way high volume does not equal supercenters. There are many states who do not even have one high volume store. In the end the line has many problems and the first most significant is price point. They should have stayed at 16.99 like the motuwwe figures. The other problems are walmart policy related(inability to reorder/check inv history on handhelds), inventory failures (only once a year), lack of oversight (employees), bad case assortments (full cases of flair, nwo hogan), constantly cancelled preorders, inabilities to clearance out product that doesnt move (lady jaye gijoe classified (no markdowns ever), s4/s5 figures (which led to s6/s7 being skipped till pegs cleared out which coincided with s8 releases), ETC ETC ETC. to say the line does not have problems = you have not read the past 159 pages = disingenuous. We are talking about diehards who in this thread search almost every day at walmart and some are still coming up empty handed like chair shot above despite 7 months of release. If people like us cant find them what do you expect the average consumer to do? (Give up is the answer) Lastly we are down to one peg with the last april reset. If the line was doing so good it would not have seen pegs reduced from 2 to 1. They could put out 5 cases of the andre wave per day for a week and every doink and andre would still sell out due to their perceived rarity. If the majority of these are sent to california and texas who combined make up almost half of all walmart stores than that doesnt leave much for the rest of us. They should be made available online (without cancellations). We'll see how the mnw s5 preorders do. Hah |

Ive also seen every wave eventually hit my walmarts, albeit much later than the “release” date (usually a couple months). Just starting to see the Ali/Bulldog/Kane series show up.

Like I get you wanna guys with unique looks that may not have been main eventers into the line but how are they gonna ignore Austin this long. Especially when there are a few who have multiple figs. Granted some of these are chases but we have: 5 Hulk Hogans 3 Scott Halls 2 Mick Foleys 2 Jake Roberts And for MOC collectors 2 Roddy Pipers 2 Randy Savages 2 Rocks 7 Hulk Hogans Well this is often Mattel's big mistake LOL..... they've been holding off on Austin this long, and then Walmart will cancel the line and we never get an Austin. On the flip side - - - I do think there is some merit to "saving" a few big names to keep the line strong. If you "shoot your load" right at the beginning as the line continues, you only have smaller names left to do. |
