I lucked out at the Middletown NY Walmart. On the top shelf towards the back where the two aisles connect I saw the top of a Spider-Man Legends Retro card so as I pulled it through the gap between the two aisles it was the Hobgoblin and this fell through the space with it. The Hobgoblin looks really cool.

Another "new arrival date" email for series 2. Between now and Aug 4th. So series 3 has no pre-order up yet, correct?

So series 3 has no pre-order up yet, correct? Not yet. Thanks. I'm in Canada, series 1 never arrived in my area and series 2 is sitting on shelves in its first box shipment (no Warrior), the $32.99+tax price isn't helping them move. Seeing series 3 all over eBay is throwing me off on whats actually out in the US.

Another "new arrival date" email for series 2. Between now and Aug 4th. Got the same email form Walmart. Super disheartening how bad their distribution is. Makes you wish it was just another Mattel Creations purchase

Seeing series 3 all over eBay is throwing me off on whats actually out in the US. We're getting to the point where Hogan is becoming more and more obtainable. Series 2 hit Walmart for a limited presale in the Spring, but they've since disappeared from Walmart.com entirely. It's super frustrating considering Mattel has these figures ready to go. Seems like the only reason we're still waiting for the first wave of S2 is because Walmart wants it that way.

I got the email for my HBK. Very happy I decided to buy the same HBK on EBay instead of waiting forever for this thing to come through. Last time I ever pre-order on Walmart or Target for that matter.

I've been watching this line at my Walmart very closely for a couple months now. Hogan and Honky are flying off the shelves, but Flair and Bray Wyatt really aren't moving at all.

I saw a Hogan today at Monroe NY. Other than that they still had the same 3 Bray figures they’ve had for the last 3 weeks.

Wyatt being in this line is a scary reminder that the same people who decimated the retro line the first time still work there. Think about how many names they could’ve gone with instead.

I'm guessing they were thinking the Fiend merch-moving would translate here (?). For me, he was so out of place that I wondered what the line even was at first. Cool figure, but seeing all the other figures definitely has me preferring they'd picked someone else. Save this kind of choice for when you've exhausted more options.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I don’t think there are any current superstars I’d want included in the line except Brock

I'm kinda fascinated over why this figure was picked in the first place. Was the original intention to include at least one current superstar per wave, but Bray's leaving caused them to re-think that idea? Did Mattel really think this was an iconic look for Bray that made sense alongside Hollywood Hulk, WM8 Flair? If you take the soft goods away you get a pretty good looking Bray figure, the head is really great, but it's also a look he never wrestled in to my knowledge. When you add it all up it's one of the most curious choices Mattel has ever made.

They did Fiend in MOTU so probably decided to to Bray in Superstars. They probably thought Mad Hatter woulda been more toyetic than sweater or muscle man for this line.

I do think that makes sense, but in that sense I'd say Mattel probably misjudged their audience with this line. Getting Bray in the line seems to be an appeal to kids, natural in a toy line of course, but I have to imagine this line is a lot more popular en masse with adult collectors. At this point I guess I'm most interested in the Bray figure as the anomaly it's becoming. I'm always weirdly interested in the "flow" of a certain line. Take the HBK retro. Of all the looks for Shawn Michaels, Mattel chose Ruthless Aggression HBK, an era that isn't represented with any other figure in the line. Shawn doesn't go with your classic figures, doesn't go with the attitude era figures, doesn't really go with the modern superstars, either. While not a terrible figure like the Shawn retro, this Bray feels like a similar misnomer. At this point, I'm kinda hoping Mattel finds creative ways to make a couple newer stars here and there just so Bray doesn't really stick out like a sore thumb on the Superstars shelf.

I think you’re overthinking it. With these sub-lines that don’t tend to run for more than a couple of years, I don’t think the intention is to fill people’s collections for certain eras - Mr T and Roman Reigns are both in the MOTWWEU line, for example. And Hulk Hogan was originally planned to be in the Zombies line alongside Page and Dean Ambrose etc. I think the Bray thing was just that his figures were selling well at the time of planning these. That said, I also want to see some more modern/current characters in the Superstars style. John Cena seems an easy choice - they already have the figure ready to go from the MOTWWEU ring, and it’s easy to come up with accessories for him. Drew McIntyre and Sheamus both have costumes that make sense for this line as well, as do Rollins, Edge and several of the women.

Oh I'll be the first to admit I'm over-thinking it lol, when the two lines you collect are superstars and retros you tend to do a lot more thinking than buying There's definitely some good ideas for current stars. Roman with one or both belts would be awesome, hoping to get as many titles as we can because I agree this won't last forever. I'm for all the names you mentioned, Cody and AJ Styles as well. Would love to see some women, if they did a proper Asuka it could contend for the best figure in the line when it's all said and done.
