I'm always weirdly interested in the "flow" of a certain line. Take the HBK retro. Of all the looks for Shawn Michaels, Mattel chose Ruthless Aggression HBK, an era that isn't represented with any other figure in the line. Shawn doesn't go with your classic figures, doesn't go with the attitude era figures, doesn't really go with the modern superstars, either. While not a terrible figure like the Shawn retro, this Bray feels like a similar misnomer. At this point, I'm kinda hoping Mattel finds creative ways to make a couple newer stars here and there just so Bray doesn't really stick out like a sore thumb on the Superstars shelf. I think you’re overthinking it. With these sub-lines that don’t tend to run for more than a couple of years, I don’t think the intention is to fill people’s collections for certain eras - Mr T and Roman Reigns are both in the MOTWWEU line, for example. And Hulk Hogan was originally planned to be in the Zombies line alongside Page and Dean Ambrose etc. I think the Bray thing was just that his figures were selling well at the time of planning these. That said, I also want to see some more modern/current characters in the Superstars style. John Cena seems an easy choice - they already have the figure ready to go from the MOTWWEU ring, and it’s easy to come up with accessories for him. Drew McIntyre and Sheamus both have costumes that make sense for this line as well, as do Rollins, Edge and several of the women. I already made a custom but I think AWA Cena (series 3/Top Picks) is a perfect fit for this line.

For anyone that might have missed it, I asked Steve about current talents in the the Superstars line. With the limited number of releases per year, I really want to see the Walmart Superstars line stay 100% Legends/Flashbacks. However, there are a handful of current talents that I would like to see in this form factor (Brock, Cody, updated Roman). Do you think another retail avenue is possible for a few current talents? Perhaps a shared online exclusive or WWE Shop? Maybe. There are some things I want to do with Superstars that may not work in the current retail line. I already made a custom but I think AWA Cena (series 3/Top Picks) is a perfect fit for this line. These new Cena Elites, with removable wristbands, are great for Superstars customs.

Definitely want some Attitude Era guys in the line. Especially since we have the original NWO members. Would be sweet to have a MNW shelf of these.

Austin had so many cool shirt designs, so it would be cool to see one used on a Superstars figure.

When is the wave with Shango expected to hit stores? Hasn't been explicitly announced, but my guess is early 2023 at this rate. Someone please correct me if my timeframe is off, but seems like the first case of Series 1 started hitting shelves around the start of spring, and Hogan has become more available within the last 2-4 weeks. If they continue turning cases over every 8-10 weeks I'd guess we see HBK-BigKev-Hall late summer/early fall and then possibly get Warrior by the holidays? I think these will all end up online a little sooner than on pegs, but here's hoping Walmart speeds things up a bit to meet Mattel's output.

Man I love these things. I would’ve really enjoyed these as a kid, and always dreamed of my Hasbros coming with robes, belts, removable shades and bandanas etc. Truly works of art.

AWA figures were pretty much these with less articulation. They all came with entrance attire with most of them being soft goods. That’s what I played with as a kid. I hated LJNs.

They really do hit the nostalgia aspect for me too. I didn't think much of them at first but they're one of the best concepts Mattel has done in quite a while. It's interesting, I think I enjoy them more because they are not as...realistic...as Elites. The feel is just different, more fun and less consideration of "accuracy" to a given event or something like that.

I wanted another line to collect besides retros and once I saw videos of people unboxing Superstars I realized these are a tremendous "halfway house" between retros and the standard elite/ultimate etc lines. Originally I wasn't into how cartoony the faces are and the uniform ripped bodies, but when I actually got the figures out of the packaging those those concerns gave way to how impressed I am over the detail and display-ability of the figures. I'm really hoping this line gets a decent run with a good character variety and (wishful thinking) a ring/playset of some kind. I think these figures would really shine on display with a ring setup.

I don't think they'd be too out of place with one of the New Generation Arena rings. The scale isn't ideal but it's acceptable. The ring skirts with that ring fit many of the figures too.

Looks like Midcardona already got his hands on Series 3 while the rest of us schlubs are just barely finding Series 1 Hogan.

You can just buy them off the site he mentioned
I don’t have Walmarts near me and the pre orders are a mess. I brought series 2 & 3 off that same site was worth the extra few dollars rather than driving long distance to find them
