So after much waiting, my order of Elite 91 finally arrived earlier today! Perfect thing to come home from work to. I ordered 3 Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Hulk Hogan, and Rob Van Dam.
I think it's safe to say that this is one of the strongest Elite sets overall in quite some time. I do plan on picking up Bianca and Theory later down the line, but for now, let's have a closer look at the ones I received! Starting with the Whole F'n Show, Rob Van Dam!
Rob Van Dam
It's a shame that the chase variant of RVD was cancelled, but I'm grateful that we at least got one RVD Elite. Plus, this figure is really good on its own! He's really fun to pose and mess around with.
Sami Zayn
Unfortunately, my copy of this figure had some minor paint splotches on his forehead, but I removed them with acetone after taking the photos (wish I did that before taking the photos ). My only other complaint that I can think of is that he lacks chest hair, but that's just nitpicking. Other than that, I think this is probably Sami's best figure to date. Putting the new Intercontinental Title with him really completes the look. He also goes great with the Owens figure, as you might expect. You know I had to recreate that moment when he was dancing over KO's downed body. XD
Kevin Owens
Much like with Sami, I believe this is the best KO figure to date. I feel like Owens' Elites just get better over time. This shares elements with his Elite 80 figure, which was great in its own right, but I think this one is even better. The attire pops, fun accessories, great face scan, all the tattoo details... This pretty much has it all! As stated above, I bought three of them from RSC, all for different reasons, but I actually bought a fourth off the Bay! One is being kept as is, one kept MOC, one to swap parts with the E80 KO, and the fourth was customized into his MITB 2021 attire, using the shorts from his E66 chase figure.
Can you tell that I love KO?
Hulk Hogan
Yes, the Sheamus torso being used for this figure is very disappointing and does limit some articulation in the shoulder joints, and it would've been nice to have the darker skin color, but other than that, I think this figure is a perfect representation of Hogan. The long red and yellow tights is my favorite look for Hogan (besides nWo Hollywood Hogan), so to finally have it in Elite form is fantastic! I bought another one a few days ago to customize into a "Hulk Still Rules" 2002 Hogan. One thing I will say is that the sunglasses stay on Hogan's face WAY better than the Ultimate Edition Hollywood Hogan's glasses. No rubber-band needed for this dude!
And just for fun, here he is with the Survivor Series Hogan and UE Hollywood Hogan.
Hulkamania is runnin' wild, brother!
BONUS!
I know a lot of people wanted Seth Rollins' Thanos attire in Elite form, so I bought a custom off the Bay not too long ago! It's very nicely done, with no signs of paint chipping or anything. Shame it didn't come with the vest.
Since I had to buy a spare E66 chase KO to make my MITB 2021 KO custom, I decided to use the leftover parts to make a HIAC 2017 KO! A very unique attire that I believe he only wore twice (at HIAC against Shane, and then against Ziggler on SmackDown Live in March(?) 2018).
And finally, I added some custom decals to my Billy Gunn Elites! I was disappointed by how the E27 Gunn only had red lip marks on his tights, which isn't accurate at all, so I got some decals for his 1999 KOTR attire, and added them to his tights and his kneepads! While I was at it, I also swapped out his head and arms for the BP Gunn head and arms. Then finally, I added the front lip and "MR. ASS" font to his Legends Elite.
That's all for now! When I get my second E91 Hogan and what will be my FIFTH E91 Owens, I'll post an update here, showing what they look like once customized into 2002 Hogan and KOMania4 Owens, respectively. Peace!
