Anyone else wish they made a bigger deal with HHH and Chyna disassociating themselves with each other on-screen in late-1999. Chyna continued to accompany HHH to the ring and act as his bodyguard through No Mercy 1999, even while feuding with Jarrett over the IC Title.
Then following No Mercy it’s like they completely stopped interacting on TV, almost like they never had any history despite Chyna acting as HHH’s muscle for nearly 3 years by that point. I get they were focusing on Chyna being a face, while HHH was beginning his feud with McMahon (which led to marrying Stephanie), but with so much history I feel like it could have been made into a decent little story with Chyna deciding to finally leave HHH. Heck, I thought it was working with Chyna acting as a face on her own, but still acting as HHH’s muscle and would have been cool seeing them both hold the two top belts in the promotion together (while still building towards HHH marrying Steph).
I get there real life issues were beginning to start here but anyone else think there was more of a story here?

It was weird seeing her help Trips escape in the car at the end of No Mercy only for them to end the alliance right after with no explanation.
They easily couldve did a split. Have Trips say he dont need her anymore or when DX reformed have em just leave her out in the cold.

I thought they could have continued with the story of Chyna becoming a face as the IC Champ, but also trying to stay loyal to HHH. Run a story where Hunter feels like she’s not watching his back, so he reforms DX without telling her. Tensions boil and when she finds out he drugged and married Steph, she breaks away completely from him.

Didn't Vince at one point on Smackdown claim that Chyna was no longer allowed in Triple H's corner or something. I swear it was the biggest "blink and you missed it" moment to be the end of the run of those two together but I could swear that's how it happened.
EDIT: Nevermind Vince did remove Chyna but I guess it was a one time thing and was before No Mercy. So yeah idk. I feel like either they pushed Chyna away because they knew in that same moment that Steph was going to join Triple H eventually and it made no sense for both of them to be there (especially since they were heading in opposite fan reaction directions) or the whole Trip/Steph relationship started happening way sooner than anyone has ever let on to this day and they kept pushing Chyna away until they completely pushed her out.

Being a 9 year old kid at the time it confused the heck out of me. I understand that Chyna was getting over huge as a singles star but an onscreen break up was necessary considering their history. The night after No Mercy DX reunited with no mention of Chyna whatsoever, it's as if she was never part of the faction.
If they didn't want to give her & HHH a huge breakup storyline a 5 minute backstage segment would've been enough.

My guess is that Triple H and Steph were digging each other during that time so Hunter probably wanted the stoppage of him and Chyna being associated together.

Whenever they talk about chynas downfall they always blame hunter & Steph. And they do bare some responsibility. But something that never gets mentioned is an interview hunter did after chyna Left. He basicly said she was miserable to be around. The bigger star she became the worse she got. She was happiest when they met & she worked at some store. Forgot where I read the interview sorry.

1999 booking was very if you missed few Raws you missed a lot. You went from the Corporation and Ministry feuding with DX dissolving; to the Corporate Ministry forming to neither existing by Summer Slam to DX Reunion by the end of 1999. So it's not shocking honestly Chyna just disappeared based of the story planning and then the real life expects.
But it foresure is weird; and WWE didn't really have them interact I think besides that one night reunion in 2000.

They did a backstage segment before Triple H wrestled Eddie Guerrero which seemed awkward knowing all the real life stuff

Always found it strange...They'd been an onscreen package for over 2 years then separation with no explanation. I remember when DX reformed as heels & Chyna wasn't a part of it I was crazy confused...
I'm sure Conrad asked Prichard about it on the Chyna episode.. and got a typical non answer from him 🙄
