Wouldn’t it be great if AFA could give us SOME heads up about a figure that many of us are waiting for when it goes up. It’s funny, because with Hasbro their teams make sure YOU KNOW when a store exclusive is set to go up for pre order. Hell, some Mattel teams do too.

Because Amazon has full control over when it goes up, not Mattel, if I remember correctly. I know. Same with Marvel Legends and GI Joe, Star Wars, Funko, And Jurassic Park drops…but their teams are out there giving heads up before and when they are going up…complete with links and everything. Steve and Bill are amazing and are doing an AMAZING job, I just wish they would let us know this stuff over there. The ol’ it’s out of my hands excuse. Lol. At the end of the day Steve is part of a business and can care less about giving us info. Hell he hasn’t answered weeks of questions on his thread. I’ve pretty much washed my hands with whatever he says. Even when things were supposed to go live according to him it didn’t happen. Like you said about other companies letting us know, Mattel really drops the ball and if Steve is in charge of marketing, sorry to say but he sucks at his job. |

I really can’t wait to get my hands on this figure. It’s absolutely beautiful, probably the best representation of HBK in figure form. This and Ultimate Edition Batista are two of my most wanted, and I know it’s going to be a pain in the ass to acquire both of them.

I find it hard to believe that the AFA “it’s up to amazon” is 100% true. Mattel has to have some sort of communication with them over exclusives I’m sure. And I don’t believe his arms are tied in getting answers either.

Honestly don't think any of these self loving idiots should keep their job. The ultimate line is creating frustration among collectors, and whether you agree or not, the big men in mattel (not Steve or Bill!!) Want to sell as many units as possible, and it's stupid business choices that will ultimately ruin the line. How many die hard collectors are selling their ultimates due to not being able to get them at a normal price?
They murdered the motu origins line before it even got started. Same thing

Meanwhile other companies have their links live with military precision at the same stores. There's a certain point where the "it's out of our hands" explanation doesn't hold a ton of water. But regardless of reason, the situation isn't changing. |

Same thing The thing is…a sale is a sale. Whether to scalpers or to real fans. Did it sell? Is it sold out? It is? Success. That’s their mindset. Now I’m sure Bill and Steve on the other hand WANT to get them into the true collectors’ hands for retail and not flipper prices. But their corporate overlords don’t care. And they have to follow the rules or get replaced. Hell, the sad thing is, Bill and Steve could do an amazing job like they are…and they can STILL be replaced at the whim of some executive scuzzball. I just wish there was more transparency when it came to matters like this. I don’t understand why they are so tight lipped in comparison to other lines, but I’m wondering if it’s from above them? |
