Anyone else like ‘97 WWF the best? Just so gritty, political stuff with Canada and The Nation, sports-like work from Bret, Austin was brand spankin’ new and raw. ‘99 was tremendous too but ‘97 comes off more “real.” Anyone else a ‘97er for best WWF year?

I was the best year in WWE history. I loved 98 & 99 but there was something magical about 1997.

97 was excellent. 98 and 99 were great too.
…but I’m going with 88

Id say post WM13 was great. The first few months still felt like New Generation. Late 97 was great tho! 97 just had this gritty edgy feel that set it apart. 98 and 99 were great but 97 was just special and unique. I can't really put my finger on it but it was different in a good way.

I enjoy the 1997 year a lot now that I am older. I went through and watched the Raw shows about 10 years ago or so and I found myself so into the shows. I don't know how Nitro won the ratings back then, for WWF Raw shows in 1997 were so much more entertaining and fun. The crowd was so alive then too! It felt more like a rock concert show than a wrestling event with how the fans reacted.

97 was a great year. Best year for Raw in my book.
My personal fav year in company history will always be 89 though
