I saw the original plan was for Nash vs Kane at Wrestlemania 18
Is that the biggest waste of a match or what?
Why would you put Nash, who was apart of NWO at this time with Hogan and Hall against Kane?
Nothing against Kane but what's the storyline behind it?

I actually wish it happened.
Finally after all those years...a showdown between the Big Daddy Cools!

That would've been really good. Fake Diesel vs. Real Diesel, ultimately.

Only if Kane would have worn his fake Diesel attire over his Kane attire...

It's to give the nWo a win.

It's to give the nWo a win. Yeah, not a very good start for the NWO, losing their two matches at WM. Who thought that was a good idea?

This match would have been good tbh, an easy win for nWo. We also should have got Angle vs Perfect.

We could have got Angle vs Kane another time.

Well it would have made some sense, since Kane was teaming with Rock and Hogan after WM 18 to wrestle Nash, Hall and X-Pac.
They didn't have Nash wrestle at the PPV though in fear that Hall would mess up and couldn't perform, so Nash was the back up plan for Austin.

I think Nash was on reserve for the Hall Vs Austin match.

Imagine:
Austin vs Hogan Rock vs Flair Taker and Kane vs Hall and Nash Perfect vs Angle Triple H vs Jericho
On the same card. Man Wrestlemania X8 could have been great instead of essentially a one match card.

I would have loved that. I felt the Kane/Angle match was good but it felt really thrown together. Had they had Kane involved with Rock/Austin in the build up it would have worked, but early 2002 Kane wasn't really involved in the main event scene so I don't know how it would have went down.
I agree with the earlier comment, had they given us Angle/Perfect as well.. dear god that would have been incredible.

I’m always down for a great hoss fight and think these two fit the bill.
There were different rumors going around at the time. One idea pitched was to have Nash beat Jericho for the Undisputed Title and have Nash/HHH at WM18 (Bruce discussed this on his podcast).
Another was for Nash to work with Kane (neither had anything going on and Vince was trying to sign Sting to work with Kurt at WM18).
I also remember wishing they had done Austin/Nash since Nash was the bigger star than Hall.
I remember the dirt sheets saying Nash was dealing with some nagging injuries which is why he was mainly limited to tag matches for the most part. He was used more as a “backup” for Hall incase Hall couldn’t make the event.

I think Nash was on reserve for the Hall Vs Austin match. Prichard and Ross both maintain this was his sole purpose at WM because they were so uncertain of Hall & whether he could or would show. He had too many injuries to be put in a match or programme because again? he also couldnt really be relied on. Entire thing was snakebit from the time Vince started talking to them in November 2001.

I’ve always questioned Pritchard and Ross as Nash worked a bit in the 3v2 tag match the prior week on Raw, another tag match the following week, and eventually a 1v1 match with Rocky a few weeks later. Yeah Nash eventually became injury bitten with the torn bicep, and then the torn quad a few months later, but he seemed to be ok in the lead up and weeks after WM (though looks are deceiving).

Yeah true story...maybe Nash himself nixed any programme citing his own issues?
