I just picked my favourite wrestler for pick who could be argued as face. I was shocked just how early WWE decided Cena to be face. This Royal Rumble 2004 poster is scary:

I think the problem with this is the eras are really unofficial and there’s no real designation between them
New gen to attitude era could be: WM 13 SS 97 KOTR 96 RR 97

I think the problem with this is the eras are really unofficial and there’s no real designation between them New gen to attitude era could be: WM 13 SS 97 KOTR 96 RR 97 Ehhh, there's a couple that could be argued as having definitive dates.
But the problem is that with those definitive dates comes "cusp" eras, so to speak.
There's a specific date that the RA era began.
And it's pretty much agreed upon that the Attitude Era ended at Wrestlemania X7
But there's a decent gap between those two dates that isn't considered an official "Era" by the WWE.
And then you have what the WWE calls the "New" era which I believe they consider as ending when the Thunderdome debuted. But really. there was very little difference between the "New" era and the official one before it other than Shane came back and named the thing. And if it's true that the "New Era" ended with the Thunderdome, what the heck are we in now?
So you're partially right. While there are "Official" eras according to the WWE, there is too much missing time/overlap time between them for most of their official eras to make sense.

You given RA start and Attitude end, but not end for RA or start of Attitude. I still say there’s not definable eras as we talk of them as fans

Eras I think are defined by either a transfer of power amongst the top guys, a completely different presentation, or a completely different tone of the product.
Golden Age = Hulk Hogan being the main focus regardless if he had the belt or not New Gen = Raw replaces Prime Time, main event revolves Bret and Yoko Attitude = birth of edgier programming with DX & Stone Cold RA = Rock goes Hollywood & Stone Cold takes his ball and goes home, brand is split into two shows PG = Cena is cemented as “The Guy” and the product becomes a lot more catered to kids Current = Cena starts taking a lesser role and Roman is being primed as the next “Guy”

Oh sorry. I said that wrong.
I meant there were a couple of definitive "Dates" overall.
But, for the record, The Ruthless Aggression era does have a definitive end date as well. If you look it up, The ruthless aggression era lasted from June 24, 2002 to July 22, 2008 by strict definition. That was the time between Vince McMahon straight up naming it as the Ruthless Agression era and the very first PG rated show.
So in that case, yes, there is a strict set of dates for that one era. Also, supposedly the answer to my question of "What are we in now" is "The Peacock Era" which is listed as having begun on March 18, 2021. If this is true, then it means the "New Era" lasted from May 1, 2016 to that date. So that's another that has a strict set of dates.
But really, as anyone with a brain knows (and I stated above) the "official era dates" for most of these eras, if they exist, are sketchy at best and really, the "New Era" as a whole is utter crap because outside of bringing back the brand split (and again, Shane's return to the company and saturation in the product) there was little to nothing that differentiated the New Era from the last and, really, I don't think you can even call the Thunderdome and PC stuff as part of the same era because that WAS different!
So really, there are officially defined eras in more than one instance. They're just pretty BS definitions that don't make sense.

I think a lot of the ‘newer eras’ are a bit pointless too Golden era to new gen saw a total shift in ethos from big stars to bringing through younger talent Attitude era was again a complete shift in tone and content Whereas from the pg era to now it doesn’t feel like much has changed, the thunderdome was a way of getting around the pandemic. Really to me we’ve been in the same era from the start of pg to now. There’s not the seismic shift like new gen to attitude

This was the time Cena started taking on a part time roll and the main event no longer revolved around him cemented by Brock destroying him at SS. Combined with breaking the streak, Brock was elevated to unstoppable monster status. Shield also broke up that year and everyone started getting major pushes with Roman clearly being primed to be the next top star. Punk left. NXT gained massive popularity. They got a new logo. There was a great shift in 2014. I would consider that the start of the Network Era.

When he is no longer the main focal point of weekly programming then there’s clearly a change.

When he is no longer the main focal point of weekly programming then there’s clearly a change. A change in personnel but not in theme like the other eras had Example: Attitude to RA: The amount and type of violence shown changed (blood v no blood being an easy example) Attitude to RA to PG: The words used both in promos and commentary went from graphic verbal depictions of violence and overtly adult themes in attitude era to more inferred violence in RA to very light in PG and almost school yard type insults in promos Just because the people have changed it doesn’t mean the product has, likewise you can have the same people in different eras - shawn and bret were major players in both new gen and attitude eras but their characters, their dialogue, their motivation for the parts they played were very different

Pretty much unanimous on Bret being the face of the New Generation (which I wholeheartedly agree). Makes me wonder why Diesel and Doink were the selected figures for the New Generation Arena crowdfunding campaign. I love Doink and Diesel but I never thought of either of them as the leader of the New Generation. Even when Bret didn't have the title, he was the leader of the New Generation to me.

Diesel probably because he was a cheap budget friendly pack in with the ring and entrance. Plus we already gotten an UE Bret. Diesel is something brand new they can offer under the premise of “this is the only way you’re gonna get an ultimate BDC.” Plus Nash/Diesel figures have always sold very well.

I still would have preferred an all pink or all black Bret Hart in similar vein to the first Ultimate Bret (swappable arms and torso jacket piece) but with a more accurate metallic pink sunglasses accessory. I don't know why they always come out a mostly silver looking thing. If they did an Ultimate Bret in 1993 Royal Rumble gear like the Ringside exclusive, I could just imagine the configuration options where you could use the jacket on the first Ultimate Bret and the first Ultimate Bret's jacket on this figure. Very nice indeed. But that's just me. Hehe.
