I’m surprised their wasn’t any clips from Survivor Series ‘90. His entire performance there was fantastic, the faces let him have it and I loved his exchange with Hawk particularly as they showed great chemistry in such a short time.

So smooth and effortless with his selling and great face in AWA and even better heel as Perfect in the fed who was totally perfect in the role and gimmick. He’s greatly missed

Not a massive fan, but I'm also not a hater of his.
I'd say about 50% was good. But the rest was too forced and took me out of suspension of disbelief.
For the era, I guess it worked. But I feel he gets a pass on this selling whilst Dolph Ziggler is labelled as a "Perfect wannabe" or a "good bumper" and HBK was "overselling" at Summerslam 2005.
Watching the first minute of that video and how he had to force the flips from getting whipped into the turnbuckle and sliding into the post, just made me be like "huh?".
The overuse of the "kicking his leg out of his leg" whilst holding the ropes or flipping over the top rope after a strong punch/chop in EVERY match, waters it down. Sure, it's making the opponent look strong, but too much and it becomes overused/meaningless.
I'd say he was smooth about 50% of the time.
Was he innovative at the time period? Hell yes. Was he great in the ring? Hell yes. But I feel he should have not over-forced the bumps and used them in the major matches rather than every match.

To be fair, Shawn was overselling during that match. I think he has all but said the words. And, I never saw Ziggler as a Mr. Perfect or HBK rip-off, he seems to me more like Billy Gunn than the other two. Also, to be fair, he didn't do the leg kick thing all that much, he only did that against guys who had leg submission finishers like Bret and Tito. But he did do the flip out of the turnbuckle often.

The perfect pairing.I loved these 2 together Yep, this is my favorite tandem of manager and wrestler. They were so good together. I wish it went on longer. Love the gif, they would have made a perfect tag team. Perfect doing all the work and the brain counting the money...

Granted I haven't watched much wrestling pre-New Generation, but I've been watching Nitros from 1997 onwards and he almost did it every match.
