(no this is not a Cody Rhodes Diva thread)
In the January 2010 issue of the WWE Magazine, there was a spread with "Tomorrow's Champions", featuring 10 Superstars that were deemed as "the future" of WWE back then. (at least kayfabe wise in the Magazine)
Now, i know this list came up a couple years ago on here somewhere but I figured it could have its own thread, also to talk about potential new "future of the WWE" stars.
What's crazy is, that of the 10 people in the 2010 list, only 3 are still with the company and became World Champions (Kofi, the Miz & Dolph Ziggler) and only one of the other 7 that are no longer with the company became a World Champion (Jack Swagger). The other 6 (David Hart Smith, Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase, Tyson Kidd, Evan Bourne, John Morrison) either didn't go far in the company at all or had some midcard success before leaving. It's still crazy to think about that list and the fact that Jack freakin Swagger has more world title reigns than John Morrison and Ted Dibiase, who at the time we thought would be a big thing...
What factored into this list is that NXT was not really around yet and there was no real place for the WWE to "grow" their new superstars, it was a pretty weird time if you think back. Now one could obviously say that NXT2.0 and all the NXT upcomers are "tomorrow's champions" but that's really vague.
Who would be your 10 picks of active Superstars who could potentially be World Champions in a couple of years or released or starting a new company or become a producer behind the scenes etc etc ?

I will never understand why anyone thought Ted Jr would be a future star. That dude invented mid.

My brother use to think Ted Dibiase was future world champion and the crazy part is Dibiase pretty much has been free of the entire industry since 14

I could have seen Ted, Jr. doing something if they found a better way to use him and a better gimmick. "Mean" Mark and Rocky Maivia were super bland at first, but they both eventually conquered the business. Now, though, Ted is going through some major legal issues with the church fraud down south, so I dunno if the business will ever hear from him again.

I never saw much in Ted. He was touted as the breakout of Legacy, but I always saw that in Cody over Ted. All Ted had was a name.
As for today, WWE will make whoever they want to be champions champions. Half or more of a list that could be printed today could easily be released on a whim. Similarly most people are going to have a different idea of what makes a champion. For example, I prefer Dawkins to Ford. I really don’t like Ford at all. I find him annoying, and I prefer Dawkins’ promo work. I can see how Ford would be touted as the ‘Shawn’ because of his athleticism and charisma, but if he was ever champion I can almost guarantee it would go allot like Kofi’s or worse.
That was just a fluff piece though. Certainly at that time I’d say at least half of those guys were never even considered, and never would’ve been. I like Sydal and all, but there’s no way he’d have ever been WWE champion. It’s a miracle that Kofi even got it.

In terms of people who haven't hit that top main roster championship peak yet, I'd like to see some of the top stars in ten years being:
Bron Breakker Carmelo Hayes The Creed Brothers MSK Montez Ford Angel Garza
As for the women:
Cora Jade Liv Morgan Ivy Nile Jacy Jayne Indi Hartwell Shotzi Blackheart (if she's turned back babyface and not future endeavored this year)
w/ Rhea Ripley as well.
Also, in ten years time they'll probably still be airing "Veer Mahaan is coming" ads.

I think Swagger gets a bad rap. Was he ready for the world title when he won it? Not really, but the guy had the size and wrestling skills to potentially be a top guy. Besides needing a mouth piece (I loved his pairing with Zeb years later), they completely changed him from a goofball to a no-nonsense champ the second he won the belt. Then after a few weeks they decided to make him a goofball again and look weak in all his title defenses. His booking was crap and his constant character-changes over a few weeks killed any potential he had.

If Montez Ford does well, then so will Angelo Dawkins.
