Am I the only one who thinks this looks nothing like Bret? No, you're not. While there is no denying it's a very well done headsculpt of a person, if I had seen it anywhere else but this thread I would not have guessed it was supposed to be Bret Hart.

Pretty bang on sculp! Doesn't look a lick like Bret save for the hair, but looks pretty good nonetheless. The render looks more like Bret than the finished product.

Found a couple more scans that would work great for a Bret Hart figure

I'm going to use this topic to lament on how we still don't have proper shiny pink sunglasses for Bret. I don't know how a much smaller company like Jakks did this multiple times but they don't seem interested in investing in this at Mattel. They work around it by either using the black shades, or going with a Barbie-esque solid matte pink that looks awful, or slapping a nice foil sticker over said matte pink, but nothing comes close to the trademark glasses he wore. If there's some sort of hidden cost to it, then at least do it for an UE.

Yeah I’m going to join in and say the likeness still isn’t absolutely dead on neither..

Anyone that says that looks farther away from Bret than a Mattel is tripping.

I feel like no matter what head we get on a Bret figure in the future, people will claim it looks nothing like him.

Found this photo of Bret Hart, , looks nothing like him. Because he’s smiling?

Found this photo of Bret Hart, , looks nothing like him. Because he’s smiling? That must be it. I need “shell of a man” facial expressions from my Bret. The moment a sweet smile begins to drape his precious face I no longer see the man we all love.

customs paint jobs like this are not cheap Exactly. I think people are confusing a good sculpt with good paint apps. That being said, Mattel has screwed up both several times. In my opinion they should never, ever try to do the whole 'hair over the face' look when it comes to Bret Hart. I know that's the way he appeared a lot of the time, but they will never have plastic thin enough to make that look right. His hair has to be slicked back. Period. The Ultimate Edition figure's heads are all useless due to that fact. There are some okay sculpts out there though.

Found this photo of Bret Hart, , looks nothing like him. Clearly a custom. Bret doesn’t smile, that would take time away from blaming Hulk Hogan for things. He looks like he might be about to give something a 5/10 though.

Jakks did this and it looked fine. Mattel’s loose hair look more like dreadlocks. They could also just do the part in the middle and have his hair to the sides like this sculpt. Granted, I believe the first DM Bret had the best likeness. It’s just the bad hair sculpt. The newest Bret scan Mattel also made looks good besides the wide forehead and hair that’s way too long. I don’t know if we’ll ever get the best of both worlds (decent face sculpt and hair), but a collector can wish.

Still holds up.
