Read this today:
“WWE wanted Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk to be in 2K22, according to Michael Straw of Sports Gamers Online. A deal couldn't be reached with the estates of Hawk and Animal, though, due to "tension between the parties."
Although it sucks that it didn’t happen, I’m taking the positives in that WWE wanted them in the game so fingers crossed they can work out some of these issues soon.
I’d love to see LOD as the first Ultimate Edition 2-pack.

WWE almost always gets the blame for there not being relationships in place or for certain talents being "ignored", but then it comes out down the road that it is often the talent/estates that are causing the problems. For years, people raged that Randy Savage was "snubbed" from a Hall of Fame Induction, until it came out that he repeatedly turned THEM down because he wanted to go in as The Poffo Family or not at all.
Similar things have happened with Miss Elizabeth, Rick Martel, Ultimate Warrior, and now apparently with Legion of Doom. It sucks. But for many families, principle comes before profit.

I think that used to be the case, but In the past few years, every Legend featured in a game, we’ve had figures of. So far in 2k22 the only exception is Eric Bischoff but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him revealed very soon in figure form. I remember everyone complained when someone said a Mr T was on the way because he was featured in a game and then look what happened… |

You would think with John having a high position of power within WWE that he would have some influence on at least getting Animal’s estate on board. Or maybe that’s where the tension is. I know not all families get along and sometimes the death of someone only causes them to become more estranged.

I know not all families get along and sometimes the death of someone only causes them to become more estranged. Pretty sure that's a big part of the tension. Animal spoke pretty frequently about wanting to be an agent or to coach tag teams at the PC, and there was definitely tension that Johnny didn't get him a job. I'm not at all surprised that WWE would want LOD under a deal - they've always been big merch movers. But that doesn't make it any more likely we'll see Mattel figures any time soon. |

Davey is right. The two are definitely more linked now than they used to be. The last three games have all aligned with figure reveals. No difference here. If you're seeing someone in on a trading card or in a video game, they're most likely available for a figure. There are certainly exceptions, but appearances in other licensed properties are a huge indicator of who is/isn't available currently. |

I hope they can come to a mutual agreement soon that’s Win/Win/Win. I missed out on previous figures and I’m sure an updated release would sell like crazy.

It's worth mentioning that Animal also owned Hawk's likeness.
It's even more worth mentioning that the same guy who reported this originally, said that Bron Breakker would be DLC and he was not.

While Id love more LOD's and updated LODs....WWE/Mattel needs to now focus on the greatest tag team of all time and that's the Steiner Brothers. Everything is there for them, just go out and get it. Dont take no for an answer

it just sucks. thats all. like, we got 2 amazing elites and 1 really good basic of those guys and then nothing
they had SO many amazing attires, and such long careers. Mattel would be absolutely killing it with LOD figures if they could.
