This will differ from my other Shield project; which is a reality where I can control the context around it. (Daniel Bryan never gets hurt; etc; I control the circumstances. This will be more true to reality writing with limited bend.
This will follow each star from June 2014 to Summer Slam 2017. And following their initial split years.
Volume Two will follow the Shield post Summer Slam 2017 into 2020.
Chapter 1 Separate Destinies
Seth Rollins to many has just sold out… but in his words he has bought in. The Architect of the Shield was the man to bury the Shield. With that there is hell to pay… Dean Ambrose is hot on his tail and has intended to make his former brother in arms pay.
Dean Ambrose who has moved on from Reigns; for the past month has hunted Rollins. But has been held back at every turn; with Rollins and his personal security. However, Ambrose has defied the odds qualifying into the 2014 Money in The Bank against all odds when he defeated J and J security in a handicap match. Rollins now must face his fear; while in the interim he has managed to piss off every other top star heading into the match with the odds already seeming to be stacked against him.
While Roman Reigns has gone to forge his own path; he has defied the Authority in every chance he’s gotten. However; Kane has been given a special mission to destroy Reigns. Kane has been a possessed mad man ever since April. He had made Bryan’s life a living hell; however the tragic injury may have put Bryan to an end; it has not put Kane’s wrath anywhere near to an end.
Kane attempted to bury Reigns alive; and also has tried to run Reigns over. Reigns was the backbone; and source of strength in the Shield. And it’s fitting as he is the one man Shield; he has struck back and stuck bad hard. However, where you spear a man through the stage set. Or issue a Shield powerbomb through an announce table; would take out your average man; the demon keeps coming. He may be the Authorities best kept weapon; as he will be coming after Reigns at Money in The Bank; and only one man will walk out as the other takes a trip in a Stretcher match.
Battleground 2014
Roman Reigns and Kane went to war with battle scars all over the big dog; but he slayed the demon. Carrying Kane’s mask as a medal of honor. Reigns would form an unlikely alliance with the WWE Champion John Cena. Who reclaimed the vacated gold in a Hell in a Cell match the night prior against Randy Orton. Reigns would stand by John Cena; however, making it clear he’s coming for the gold. Cena would act knowing the young Reigns is the future of this company; but Cena’s not going anywhere anytime soon. This duo would be banded together with Randy Orton getting assistance with his Authority stablemate Mr. Money in The Bank himself Seth Rollins.
Seth Rollins and Randy Orton would target Cena; after taking Dean Ambrose out in a savage attack as a message to John Cena. Ambrose would retaliate by beating Rollins to hell on SmackDown; he was suspended for striking officials who tried stopping it for 30 days. With Orton closing in on the title; Reigns would step it up hunting after Seth Rollins.
With two sides; but one motive lying above all; the WWE World Championship. With Rollins and Orton growing distrusting as both vow to be the centerpiece of the Authority regime; as Generational clash grows between Cena and Reigns. An explosive Fatal 4 way at Battleground was in the works.
John Cena walked out of Battleground 2014 retaining the title, settling the score with Orton again. However in the closing moments a briefcase shot to the head dropped Cena. Rollins looked poised to take what was his; but Dean Ambrose emerged from the crowd preventing the cash in.
Dean Amrbose was back in full force and vowed to make the Authority's life a living hell; when Triple H looked to fire Dean. Dean led a Daniel Bryan inspired walkout; with ‘’Bryan’s influence and input from at home with a little bit of 2000 Mankind in there’’ Taking Raw by storm as Dean was reinstated. Rollins would be driven insane by Ambrose; and be urged to put down Dean. Rollins would start stepping it up in the build up to Summer Slam putting RVD on the shelf and a vicious attack against Chris Jericho.
Roman Reigns would be targeted by Randy Orton. Who would grow concerned in his place in the Authority with further clashes with Seth Rollins. Orton would grow frustrated in his inability to regain his place and his inability to put Reigns down. With Orton’s frustration he would attempt to attack Reign’s family on Raw. With the plot failing; and Reigns on the hunt. It was used as a tool to bait Reigns; as Orton would take the driver seat with the rookie’s rage blinding Reins' path to Summer Slam 2014.
When Summer Slam was said and done Rollins sadistic mentality brought his match to an end due to ref stoppage beating Ambrose to a bloody pulp. With Ambrose seeming to be done for it. Ambrose would return the following night on Raw to stop Rollins from another cash in attempt on Brock Lesnar; as the Authority attempted double cross when Cena and Lesnar had brawl the night after SummerSlam.
Ambrose with help from an enemy to Rollins in Chris Jericho would beat Rollins in a Beat The Clock challenge with the winner who defeated their opponent the quickest would choose the stipulation. With Ambrose getting more reckless and savage in his attacks with Rollins; with zero regard in if hurts himself the stakes were on. As they would face off in a knitty gritty street fight at Night of Champions 2014.
Roman Reigns would find a new enemy in the Big Show. The Big Show who has grown unhappy in his place in the company. And is seeing his career eclipse signed deal with the devil. Big Show attacked and leveled Reigns. Sending Reigns through a panel in the stage. Big Show would go on record for Reigns to not take it personal; like a Randy Orton minded attack. It’s just business; Reigns would retaliate by crashing Big Show signing into the Authority in big celebration. With Reigns brawling with Big Show into the crowd and spearing him through the interview set. Reigns would insist on Show not taking it personal. This rookie star has been tested and for the past 3 months nobody has been able to put Reigns down. Reigns and Big Show would face off in a Last Man Standing match with Reigns prevailing at the PPV event.
Rollins and Reigns went to war; and the grit of classic street fight was there. Until Dean Ambrose dropped the elbow of century off the stage onto Rollins. With the crowd in cheers; but both men unable to move and the fact it wasn’t falls count anywhere caused the match to get thrown out and both men to be carted out.
Rollins was furious and embarrassed and with the pressure from the Authority to end it. Rollins vowed to do so. Rollins in a neckbrace stated; he doesn’t want anywhere to run and hide he wants Dean to confront his demons. He wants to end Dean Ambrose and contain the threat. He wants Dean in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage match.
Ambrose would gladly accept as they two continue onto a third battle; as many in the Authority were delighted with the stipulation as many are getting caught in the crossfire. With Rollins continuing to ramp up his brutality; and Ambrose amping up the risk more. The Authority in panic would declare no contact clause; as both men were left to leave heavy words with eachother in riveting contract signing on the SmackDown before the event.
Roman Reigns was carrying out strong; as frustration grew in the Authority as a summer campaign to put Reigns down was dwindling; as now a bounty was sent on Reigns head. Raw to SmackDown to Main Event to House Shows to Superstars; Reigns was being attacked by all walks of life on the WWE roster. However, knowing could complete the goal. But; a high stakes buyer bought in. Sheamus.
Sheamus would crack the ribs of Reigns; and shatter Reign's nose with Brogue Kick. Triple H would praise Sheamus for his vicious nature; stating that’s the Sheamus he knew in 2010. That’s the Sheamus we hadn’t seen in years. Sheamus grew angered after losing his US title at SummerSlam 2014. And looked to be on a warpath. With Sheamus looking to finish his end of the bounty and the Big Dog now being wounded in battle it seems like the ride would be over with.
Roman Reigns would defeat the veteran superstar in battle; with Reigns coming out hurt. But still unable to be defeated.
Dean Ambrose left the Steel Cage with a battered Seth Rollins defeated. Ambrose would stick it to the Authority. With Rollins hurt in a wheelchair; he would come to Raw and make a speech about vacating the briefcase and being injured. However this was just to bait Ambrose and led to a underhanded attack against Ambrose. However; with the roster growing sick in this Roman Reigns hurt but against all odds would charge out. Reigns would take a beating for his brother; John Cena would join the mix. Slowing the beating but taking one; soon all those sick of the Authority joined the fight Leveling the playing field.
As the shows increased the Authorities hold was breaking. As it’s control seemed to fail with Vinec McMahon doubting his in law; and his ability to control the WWE. He wanted to test Triple H. And see if he could put this rebellion down.
He had screwed series of stars with The Wyatt Family still heels but outlaws of the Authority. Reigns, Ambrose, and Cena and their storied history. This odd list of stars who may not even all like each other looked to be devastating to be united together against the Authority.
The Authority with Seth Rollins and Randy Orton leading the charge; with even Triple H stepping up himself to enter the match due to Rollins and Orton’s tensions boiling over to even new levels. Big Show, Sheamus, and Russev also looked to add character to the story. As a 6 on 6 Match was to go head to head at Survivor Series 2014 in a Wargames match.
In the closing hours Rollins looked to slaughter Reigns; but with Sting returning to revive hope and batter Authority members with his bat. Allowed Reigns to regroup and score the pinfall.
Outlaw Era
With the Authority losing it’s control; John Cena looked to establish some level of order. However; all around that was chaos. As WWE looked to be unguided with Vince almost regretting his choice; Cena however can be the only one to reinstate the Authority.
Rollins would be isolated by Ambrose as Ambrose looked to slaughter the remains of the Authority. As these two and their rivalry would take one last final turn in a Last Man Standing match at TLC 2014.
Roman Reigns would be targeted by Luke Harper. Reigns would make his intentions clear and disrespect the World Champion Brock Lesnar. However it was Bray Wyatt who won the 30 man Battle Royal to earn the shot. Reigns would try to insert himself into the trauma; however, Bray Wyatt had loyal soldier behind him in Luke Harper. Harper proved to be a kamikaze for the Wyatts and doing everything to keep Reigns out of the title picture.
Harper played mind games assaulting in unlikely spots and attempted to kidnap Reigns and take him to the Wyatt swamp. The two would square off in a Table War - Where you can go threw as many tables as you would like. But tables are the only weapon.
With 2015 heading in; Rollins would gain a master plot in reinstating the Authority. As well as Rollins defeated Ambrose in the Last Man Standing match. As Rollins would earn his way to another WWE Championship shot with being rewarded won by Triple H due to it’s efforts. However; Cena would join the mess. Defeating Rollins, Big Show in a handicap match to save the jobs of Reigns and Ambrose with help from Sting again. Lesnar who himself wasn’t done with Cena. Due to Cena sticking to him on the New Years Raw with a giant AA through the announce table.
Cena would reveal his final act as the man to be running Raw was to have a title match at RR 2015, which he stated at the Rollins/Lesnar contract signing. Lesnar angered in the fact; he can’t just have his hands on Cena. Rollins lerks in the background.
Roman Reigns would set his sights on the 2015 Royal Rumble; however his odds looked poor as he was given the #5 number. Reigns still looked determined to make the Rumble his. However Ambrose would also be looking to be a favorite. A showdown seemed imminent of the two.
When it was all said and done, Reigns walked out of the 2015 Royal Rumble a winner with Bryan and Ambrose being the three. Reigns would last eliminate Bryan to win.
Reigns would be hunting the WWE World Champion; however Bryan wanted Brock at Mania. A title he never lost. Bryan would be angered and frustrated in coming so close again. Bryan also stated when he went down with an injury , Reigns was still in the Shield; and the moment he’s gone, Reigns is on top of the World. Bryan would raise hell; and at every chance Reigns would look to establish a bare level of respect Bryan would deny it.
Bryan would mention Reigns being top face; and yet he was goon for the Authority and now he’s this badass? Bryan would get so far under Reigns skin he put his Rumble shot on the line at Fast Lane. With both mens tensions and emotions boiling over with the idea of WrestleMania 31 in both men’s hearts and heads.
Rollins would be attacked by Chris Jericho. Jericho looked to finish what he had started with Rollins last Summer. Jericho the veteran would outwit Rollins in the ring; Jericho seriously and almost in his 2008 mindset put Rollins in his place. Rollins, who nearly had ended his career, brought some deep seated anger out of the veteran. The Authority would capitalize; as Triple H wanted to test Rollins by making it a Submission match. To see if Rollins can truly adapt and be the man.
Dean Ambrose would destroy Triple H’s limo and make a stand against the Authority as they cost him a chance to challenge the US Champion Russev. Ambrose would demand Triple H not to worry about Sting; he needs to worry about Ambrose. Triple H would try to have his goons take him out; but Ambrose would wield a metal nail bat at them and chase after Triple H like a mad man.
Triple H sends cops to arrest Ambrose; with Triple H assaulting Ambrose on the way out. Ambrose would return from jail in a prisoner transport van stating he knew some buddies who were Correction Officers and lunge off the van attacking Triple H.
With Triple H growing sick of this he granted Ambrose a match under the condition that if Ambrose loses he stays fired.
WrestleMania 31
Rollins would learn to adapt; making Jericho tap out with modified Figure Four Leg Lock however his victory was short lived as Orton hunted after Rollins as Rollins fled. Rollins would act as if he saw a ghost. Orton would be ‘’convinced’’ by Director Kane to make amends and later Stephanie and Triple H would have assured that. With the Authority back together Rollins would think Orton is his ally; as both plotted to double cross.
Orton would strike first, leveling Rollins with a RKO. Rollins would attempt to break Orton’s ankle again; however Orton came back with a riveting RKO. And looked to finish Rollins with a punt if it wasn’t for Big Show stopping him.
Rollins would look to exploit Orton’s injury however he remained weary of the predator like nature of Orton and the sheer experience. These two looked to be headed to a classic clash at Mania.
Dean Ambrose would insert himself into the IC Championship picture fresh off his victory against Triple H. With Ambrose looking to be a wild card in the IC Picture. This looked to make an interesting and one hell of a ladder match.
Roman Reigns would overcome Bryan in a classic; however both men would find respect for eachother and find peace. Reigns would be set to his showdown with Lesnar. As both men clashed over the mic as the build up burnt slowly for a heated match. As both men shared no altercation leading to the event. Only series of mind games; and words
When it was all said and done; Randy Orton managed to defeat Rollins. Dean Ambrose claimed the IC Championship in an iconic WrestleMania moment. Reigns and Lesnar clashed in a high impact showing. With Lesnar overwhelming Reigns in large ends of the bout. With Rollins pulling the heist of the Century becoming the WWE World Champion.
Chapter 2: Carrying the Torch
Roman Reigns robbed of WrestleMania 31 would grow angry; with Lesnar suspended the path of Rollins title reign was being cleared out. Reigns looking to prove a point found a new rival in Cesaro. Cesaro who also looked to prove a point. Cesaro was entitled and felt robbed of becoming WWE Champion last year seeing the fans turned on him. With Cesaro also using Tyson Kidd in his corner and Kidd also being his enabler in what he thought.
The two would square off at Extreme Rules 2015 in a Kendo Stick match, with Reigns walking out of Extreme Rules 2015 moving forward.
Rollins would begin a new era; and with the title being in his hands a level of paranoia went over the champion. Using his goons to target everyone. With Reigns and Ambrsoe distracted; Lesnar suspended and Rollins had a clear path. But he forgot about Orton who was ace in the hole. Crashing Rollins ceremony. Defeating Demon Kane in a Steel Cage match to prove a point to Rollins. As Rollins looked to evade Orton again; as Rollins grew more paranoid as now his title was on the line. Rollins would DQ himself; and get himself counted on both Raw and an episode of Main Event. However the board insisted Rollins face off with nowhere to run; and only pinfall/submission/ or escaping the cage. Rollins looked to truly be in trouble here.
Dean Ambrose looked to defend his IC title; competing against Cena’s Open US weekly with Ambrose hosting IC weekly. As Dean Ambrose would put his skill to the test against a smug debuting Kevin Owens who savagely attacked and beat Daniel Bryan down upon his debut. Once again putting Bryan on the shelf. Owens had an attitude and both men coming to a clash was easy with the history on the indy’s as Ambrose grew disgusted in Owens actions of just trying to end others careers. The two were to make history and face in a Barbed Wire Massacre at the PPV event.
With the feud moving forward Rollins retained the title; however, Reigns was heavy on his tracks. And Orton wasn’t done. Reigns and Orton we're no strangers from last year; but both equally hated Rollins more. Teaming up to make Rollins life a living hell; with the two men both separating Rollins from his goons. However the question of Rollins and Orton’s respect for eachother came on the line. As both men started to target each other as a Triple Threat was on the way for 2015’s Payback.
Dean Ambrose was cost the title gold he freshly won; by Bray Wyatt. Bray Wyatt was drawn to Ambrose and stated Ambrose has his attention now. Bray would try to abduct Dean and make him a Wyatt. With it failing; and Ambrose attempting to drown Wyatt in the swamp. Wyatt would persist. These two were set to square off at Payback 2015.
Bray would overcome Dean at the event. However; Dean wasn’t done now as he knew the battle went deeper than that. Bray would take hostages to get Dean to conform. But he knew none of them mattered but one; Renee Young. Bray would take things to a new level trying to abduct her; and nearly doing so but Dean was able to find her and save her. In turn Ambrose tried to burn the Wyatt Compound down but was stopped and was thrown into the swamp.
Bray grew crazed and angered with Dean rejecting his kinship. As the two looked to face in a rematch at June’s Money in The Bank PPV event but this time in a Casket match.
Meanwhile; Rollins continued to face off against Orton. Who would have another shot at the champion in a Stretcher match. With Orton now targeting the same ankle Rollins took out. Orton would level Rollins goons with punts; putting Corporate Kane out of commission and taking Jamie Noble out as well. Rollins was very limited on his actions. As Rollins and Orton’s rivalry looked to decide who was the better man.
Roman Reigns came close at the PPV event; Spearing Orton and closing in on a victory. However it was ruined by the ego maniacs of the New Day. Who were angered by Roman making an example out of Xavier Woods week before the PPV.
The New Day would play games with Roman Reigns; mocking him coming so close again. Two times in 2 months. With Kofi growing sick of stars like Reigns coming in and getting chances just because his far ass distant cousin and a couple other Samoan got a big break. The duo would enjoy to undermine Roman; cost him matches and use comedic skits to get over. Roman would also team with the Prime Time Players and his cousins the Usos during the feud. With Roman set on proving himself and putting Kofi in his place costing him the WWE Champion.
Kofi sure of himself put the big dog down; creating an interesting clash of styles and an interesting dynamic head into Money in The Bank.
Going to Battleground 2015; Roman Reigns would defeat Kofi Kingston in a star studded match. As The Big Dog kept pushing forward; however he was once again confronted by resurgent Demon Kane. As Kane would thrive off harassing Roman and getting into his head this summer opposed to attacking and haunting Roman last Summer. Kane would eat Roman up, mentioning how Roman’s dreams came up short just a summer later. Trying to encourage Roman to let it out; this would cause Roman to snap and once again mangle Kane. However Kane would return and order out an ambulance and bust Roman down to bloody pulp having Roman ride out in an ambulance. As Roman continues to chase his identity and his way to gold in an old rival in Kane as the two will face each other in an Ambulance match.
Seth Rollins walked out WWE World Champion; ending the feud. Rollins would be confronted by John Cena who would put the arrogant champion in his place. Cena being the mark at which every other WWE star is measured at. Cena states it’s time to take back what is his. Rollins in a fit of anger would crash, Cena-Owens rubber winner takes all IC-US title matches leaving it a no contest when Cena was closing in. Rollins would nail Cena with a thudding Curb Stomp.
Rollins would grow angry in Cena’s attention and grow wild in anyone betting against him as even the Authority grew nervous in the fact Cena was challenging back for the title. The stakes were raised as Cena wanted to go big or go home and put both titles on the line. As Cena in true Cena fashion would bounce back with what everything a slightly crazed and delusioned Rollins hit him with.
Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt would take one final turn; this time in Hell…in a Cell. This vicious unforgiving match will be the final end of this rivalry. With two crazed lunatics; as Wyatt stuck in his own mind has been wanting to make Ambrose his. As Ambrose who has fought for his life and has been brought to new extremes for even like a star himself. Ambrose has faced a lot of ups and downs in the past year. And this seems to be no up or down; this will be a journey to hell.
Rollins would walk out a Double Champion. However his moment of glory would be cut short by Sting who stopped Rollins from issuing another career ending attack on John Cena this time. Sting, who defeated Triple H at WrestleMania 31, was back. And the Authority now looked to be in fear with Triple H giving no aid to Rollins as he was in fear of Sting and his will to overcome. Rollins tackled Cena coming after his US Championship and Sting the WWE Championship. With no help from his goons; knowing they stood no chance. Rollins looked like a cat corner; after exhausting his metal wits with Cena and becoming overly arrogant with the veteran star. Rollins looked to crumble.
With Big Show’s help Kane was able to defeat Roman Reigns in the Ambulance match. However with help from Shield brother Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose were once again reunited in a common enemy. The two stood up to the Authority system in unity as this time they will face the Demon and the World's Largest Athlete in a Tornado Tag Team Falls Count Anywhere match. As this truly will be a Clash of the Titans.
Clash of Champions came around with Brock Lesnar back in the WWE; decimating Randy Orton at SummerSlam 2015. Rollins had to confront his worst fear in Seth Rollins. Lesnar vowed to make Rollins pay; with Rollins at first refusing the title match. Rollins would brutally attack Rollins and almost break his arm until he agreed. With Rollins needing all the help he can get; it only has caused him all his goons permanently. Rollins has nowhere to go. And the beast looks to sink it’s teeth back on its prey.
Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose reunion would confront the New Day in a new rivalry. As Reigns and Ambrose would utilize a series of Shield tactics against them. As they would now be sticking it to the New Day and making it joke; winning 1# contenders match for Clash of The Champions 2015.
However; Reigns and Ambrose came off strong and closed in to win the gold; it was the return of the Wyatts. With Bray enacting revenge against his hated rival and friend Roman Reigns. With Wyatt decimating them. The Wyatts have now looked to destroy some old rivals. However; Reigns and Ambrose look to be up for the challenge and have used a series of hit and run attacks to upset the balance of power and stick it to Bray Wyatt. As a 3 on 2 Handicap Buried Alive match is set to come our way for 2015’s Halloween Havoc.
Rollins, who got himself DQ'd at Clash of Champions, was hit with a series of FU’s with Officials rushing out. Rollins, who barely escaped with the title; will face Brock Lesnar one more time; this time in a Hell in a Cell match. As Rollins reign looks to be in it’s dying days. As the Beast will not have any restraint. The Authority looks on in horror with no hope.
Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns would prevail at Halloween Havoc 2015. As they would bury the Wyatts; however Bray would stick his hand through symbolizing the fact it is far from over. Dean would underdog through a 16 man tournament between Raw-SmackDown to win himself a WWE World Championship title shot.
As Dean would revisit his rivalry with Rollins which has laid dormant over the past year. With both men growing and changing over this past year. As they seem to pick up where they last left over. With Rollins growing overly confident without the Authority. As Rollins would in shocking fashion take the fight to Ambrose demanding a TLC match. After battering Dean with a chair and breaking some ribs. These men would confront this new environment. With Dean having Roman in his support. Rollins would belittle Dean with how little he has done; and how much Rollins has done. With Ambrose coming close to his moment and the storyline alluding to it; but it being matter if he can pull the title down and do it.
Roman Reigns would pursue a feud with the IC Champion Kevin Owens, who lost in the tournament to Roman. However angered by it would cost Roman his match later on in the tournament. Owens would grow sick and tired of this year being about Roman Reigns. Owens would brag about ending Daniel Bryan’s career; being a former US Champion; Defeating John Cena; being IC Champion since April. And Roman Reigns? Owens would state he needs to humble Reigns in what these indy boys do if Roman thinks he’s too good. These two were slated to face off for the title at the Survivor Series PPV event. With Owens retaining the title.
Fresh off Survivor Series due to controversy, Rollins retained the title; however only continued to gain more enemies. Rollins vowed to destroy Dean for good in a Street Fight; and by shenanigans he came close. But Bray Wyatt would harass Rollins by coming out and targeting him; Only for Brock Lesanr to come up and tear up the ring; then Roman Reigns to join on the chaos this continued mayhem also included the IC Champion Kevin Owens angered to be left out of this leading to huge brawl that went into multiple directions through the crowd to close out Raw.
With Rollins now being marked man and truly realizing who he has done wrong and everyone against him created a state of paranoia. As Triple H has grown proud of Rollins; stated Rollins has one final test before he leaves 2015 as World Champion. Triple H also saw it as a way to put an end to many of that year's destructive feuds. At that year's Christmas Bash; Rollins will defend the World Championship in an Elimination Chamber.
Brock Lesnar…Bray Wyatt… Dean Ambrose…Kevin Owens… Roman Reigns…
Rollins once again walked out champion proving why he is that damn good. Rollins would mock the fact this time last year Reigns won the 2016 Royal Rumble. Taking a personal shot at Reigns who didn’t take to it lightly and actually ending up laying out Rollins during that promo. That night 30 man Battle Royal Took place with the chance of the winner facing the WWE World Champion at the Rumble without having to battle through the Rumble. It came down to Roman and Dean Ambrose who fought their hearts out. However a double elimination occurred with both men taking each other out.
Rollins would basque in this mocking his two biggest rivals. However the board of directors would deem both men entitled to title shots. Rollins on Raw and SmackDown would steal wins over both men; using both men against each other to cost each other the matches due to miscommunication with ref bumps and interferences. Rollins would grow to be an even more craftier champion on his own over the course of this past year. However; Vince McMahon will deliberate on the topic. That both will get title shots; however at the Royal Rumble. Roman Reigns will face Dean Ambrose with the winner facing Seth Rollins later in the night and the loser entering #2 in the 2016 Royal Rumble match.
Rollins would gloat in this more as this next step in the story saw Roman and Dean’s friendship quickly start to strain as both men grew distant and more distrusting of each other's ambitions.
Royal Rumble 2016 came into effect with Roman and Dean Ambrose fighting their hearts out in a 25 minute drama packed match with Roman winning.
Roman would face Seth Rollins but with the odds against him and Roman exhausted; Roman with glimpses of hope would be defeated.
Ambrose would enter the Royal Rumble and stay battered and beaten. Roman in a last ditch to try to earn another shot would enter at #30 and make it down to the final two; with Ambrose eliminating him…
Dean Ambrose has won the 2016 Royal Rumble match! The crowd went nuts. Seth Rollins furious and angered by this. Dean Ambrose would come out the next night stating he is invoking his WrestleMania 32 match at the Fast Lane 2016 PPV, and he stated it will be Anything Goes…Iron Man match…
The stakes were on high for this event as Ambrose came full circle. Close time after time to putting Rollins down. His chance is now as their rivalry takes a new chapter. However the risk of Ambrose being beat down and not preparing and just waiting at WrestleMania bared risk. As well as Rollins has become seasoned champion defeating some of the very best.
The clock came down to a tie. However a 5 minute Overtime was granted. As Rollins and Ambrose exerted a 5 minute chain of reversals exerting any energy left with Rollins begging the Authority this time to interfere. In the final 20 seconds Ambrose got a hold and got a pinfall at 8-7. Dean Ambrose is finally your new WWE Champion.
Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns would be named the two potential 1# contenders. Lesnar would gloat in the fact Roman never beat him last year. He beat everything out of Roman. Roman isn’t ready and the fans and Roman should face those facts. This past year says enough. Lesnar looking to go to WrestleMania and defeat Rollins or Ambrose was poised. Reigns has grown a lot in the year after many heartbreaks but keeps coming back. These two with emotions running high a No Holds Barred stipulation was added. Roman would prove Lesnar and the world wrong by stamping his ticket to WrestleMania 32.
Chapter 3: It started with Three it ended with Three
The Stage was set for Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose to settle their score for once and for all. And with Roman finally earning the right to do so. Their friendship at this point has disintegrated. However, Rollins would insert himself invoking his rematch clause at WrestleMania 32. With the dust settled and the three former Shield members will clash at WrestleMania 32.
The promos and hype surrounding it by all three men would state this is 2 years in the making. As the story now has reached its circle. With the WWE Universe polarized as the three biggest stars in the WWE prepare for battle for the title. Both men are bringing out their highest levels of performance.
With Ambrose finally getting the gold; Reigns hungry to claim what should have been his last year; and Rollins who has held the title the better part of the year looks to use his experience of getting over both men to snake his way back to the title.
When it was all said and done Roman Reigns speared Seth Rollins to win his first WWE World Championship.
Chapter 4: Roman Empire.
Roman Reigns was the new WWE World Champion and was proud of it. Many hated the fact he took the title off Dean Ambrose. But to many Roman finally was getting his start as the man in the company. However; Seth Rollins looked to claim back the title. As Rollins managed to defeat Dean Ambrose in 1# contenders match on Raw; after Ambrose was leveled with a F-5 while the ref was down. Rollins slid across to collect a pinfall.
Rollins would downplay Reigns' victory as fluke; and the fact is he’s taking the title. However what else hung in the balance was the control of Raw. Authority controlled Raw continued to fade as Shane McMahon was back. With Rollins having Triple H in his corner and Shane in with Reigns, the Control of Monday Night Raw also hung in the balance for this WWE World Championship match.
Roman Reigns retained his tile; with the Authority using interference against Reigns. Goldberg who had been feuding with the Authority in this timeframe since 2015 returned after his WM defeat to even the odds. Allowing Reigns to regroup and collect the pinfall to retain the title and give Raw to Shane McMahon.
Ambrose, angry at the world, would go after Brock Lesnar and stand in the face of the beast without fear. Lesnar saw it as making his mark after absence; Ambrose just was the one in the wrong place at the wrong time. Ambrose would lead vicious assault on broke bashing Brocks head in with a chain wrapped around his fist.
Brock would return by brutally attacking Dean and locking in Kiruhura with officials rushing to break up. Rene Young began to worry about Dean’s health and urged him to walk away from this fight. Feeling lost and depleted, Dean looked for help in Terry Funk and Mick Foley. Bringing old style ECW Hardcore to Lesnar and overwhelming him on a episode of Raw.
The two would face off at Extreme Rules 2016 in a Last Man Standing match. With Ambrose giving lots of heart and will; but being unable to stand. Ambrose was left struggling in that ring broken and his world shattered.
Payback 2016
Local smartass the Miz would poke fun at this and mock this on his talk show using Dean Ambrose’s shortcomings as talkshow point. Bringing the wrath of Dean Ambrose out. Dean would turn into a mad man attacking Miz on the show. With Miz even urging to start the brand split early and have Ambrose on seperate shows. As much as Miz kept distance he kept exploiting this various ways leading to Ambrose attacking Miz at his MTV styled Studio on live TV. With Dean Ambrose and The Miz set to face off at Payback 2016. Dean Ambrose would walk out the victor getting a big rebound victory.
Roman Reigns rolled into May 2016’s Payback as WWE World Champion. With new challenges and new faces however he looked to clash with the Icon Sting. Sting fresh off his WM 32 victory. Sting didn’t look to believe or respect Roman as champion as Roman tried to give Sting the respect on Sting appreciation night. Leading to conflict and both men being pulled away; and Roman restless champion leveling the legend with a Spear. Sting and Roman would go head to head and heart to heart on it. Sting not being a believer and all the great lineage of champions and the belt found it’s way to Roman. These two would clash in an interesting blend of styles and generations. Roman would walk out victorious and leave a lasting impression on Sting.
Rollins would reform remains of the Authority and with his band of Outlaws would terrorize Raw. They would look to get a reaction from Goldberg. Finally, the Goldberg budget. As Rollins laid out a trap. Brutally beating Goldberg. However Goldberg, sidelined one by one, would take Outlaw Authority members outside of the ring. And Goldberg would announce his in ring return at Payback. With Rollins furious over losing control of the WWE. And the fact Goldberg cost him everything. As Rollins' luxury life in the WWE has been gone. Goldberg would walk out the victor.
Seth Rollins would grow worried in his status in the WWE; and a smart remark by the now fan favorite New Day was enough to drive him over. Seth would snap, attacking Kofi in the middle of the match, attempting to break Kofi’s neck with officials and New Day running down. AN aggressive attitude was brought out of Kofi; as the New Day comedy was on pause for about a month. Seth would run rampant attacking random stars and opponents to soldify his status as still the man in the WWE. A showdown took place at the 2016 Money In The Bank as both men cost each other their shots in it; it was high impact and high octane; but Seth gained the win to stabilize his return to dominance.
Dean Ambrose would renew a program with Kevin Owens heading into the event; as both men were seen as the favorites to win the briefcase. Dean looked to find his way back to the title; with occasional bump into World Champion Roman Reigns with tensions rising and Dean being eaten up; Owens stood as an obstacle in the Ladder match. Dean Ambrose in one hell of Money in The Bank Ladder match; managed to gain the victory and solidify his return to the main event scene eventually.
AJ Styles who has made the biggest impact in the WWE in modern time. Has stolen the heart of the fans and has taken the WWE by storm. Looks for the brass ring; as he challenges Roman Reigns. Reigns carries the weight of the WWE on his back; as both men week in and week out attempt to one up each other. With both mens strength and weaknesses playing off each other; with Romans athleticism, strength and will colliding with Styles' ability, years of experience and charisma.
The two clashed in an iconic match with Roman gaining the win in an explosive finish.
Roman and AJ Styles weren’t finished with each other; as AJ ate up the fact he lost. Roman stated AJ needs to earn his shot; when tensions boiled an a none title rematch occurred on Raw with Styles and Roman going onto another 40 minute classic with Styles winning. With both men understanding in styles; and both men gaining victories over each other and the title still in the balance tensions rose up with both face stars taking more personal digs at each other. The status of the title and the new brand split added a new level of drama to the program. As the two collided against each other when they were supposed to team up in a Tag Team match on Raw against Chris Jericho and The Miz. Roman would settle the feud, defeating Styles; and both men ending the feud with a handshake at Battleground 2016.
Seth Rollins continued on his warpath week in and week out; defeating different superstars in brutal or creative fashions weekly. With Rollins having an open challenge at Battleground and managing to defeat Cesaro in a hotly contested single match at Battleground 2016.
Dean would continue to hint at Money in The Bank cash in; however, his program with Owens was ongoing. As Owens felt robbed of the briefcase. And attempted to have a ‘’investigation’’ launched. When Shane McMahon looked into the matter and denied it; Owens snapped with a brutal assault on McMahon. As well as attacking Ambrose. With no love loss between these men; a Steel Cage was announced at Battleground with Ambrose willingly putting the briefcase on the line; with Ambrose winning in high drama fashion driving elbow from the top of the cage onto Owens going through a table.
Roman would continue his title reign on Monday Night Raw; as he would defend his title in a Fatal 4 Way on Raw to solidify his spot to the Raw roster and start a new brand extension on a high note. Roman would retain the title; however, was aggressively assaulted and beat down by Triple H.
Triple H, caim to reclaim his throne, blaming Roman for ending the Authority. And if Rollins; Orton; Kane; everyone who’s served under the Authority can destroy Reigns it’s time for him to do it. Triple H would allude to hiding that side of him; and it only comes out every so often. His age and his ability to contain that ‘’side’’ of him has only made it worse.
Triple H would decimate Roman Reigns again in the contract signing; bashing Roman with the sledgehammer. Roman was carted out. The following week Triple H defeated Dolph Ziggler as a proclamation to Reigns sitting at home. When Triple H attempted to repeat the following week, Reigns returned attacking Triple H; as he pursued Triple H into the parking lot, Triple H fled the arena.
Reigns would cut a riveting promo about what it means to be a champion; and Triple H wanting to rip it away after years of Triple H holding him back. Shane McMahon the Raw GM tried to quell this feud and intervene; however could not keep a lid on it. A face to face showdown occurred the week before Summer Slam as the two popped off with the roster rushing out to break it up. As security could be trusted. Roman went on a huge showing diving into the crowd on Triple H. And leading to Roman rushing Triple H with a spear off the stage with both men taking each other out.
The two faced off for the title in a Last Man Standing at Summer Slam with Roman slaying the king and making it to his feet in a hard fought match up.
Rollins would set his sights on the briefcase after Triple H denied Rollins the idea of going after Reigns again. However; Rollins would grow angry with Triple H and take matters into his own hands calling Ambrose out. When not answered or received Rollins took matters into his own hands showing up at Dean Ambrose’s childhood house much like Edge insulting his parents and trashing Ambrose as a person. Followed by Rene Young trying to step in; only for Rollins to curb stomp her. After that point it was on as Ambrose revisited his rivalry with Rollins. As new levels of personnel have reached.
This showdown was hotly contested; but a pre match attack from Rollins quickly pumped the brake on the match. With Rollins brutally attacking Ambrose with officials denying the match to start. As Rollins left SummerSlam 2016; much like Summer Slam 2014 leaving Ambrose embarrassed.
Rollins would quickly set his sights on a match with Roman Reigns; calling Reigns out. And with Rollins using the cards in his favor; gutted Roman into the match. With Shane trying to convince Roman not to put the title on the line. A title match was set that night; with Rollins once again attacking Roman in the backstage before the match. A hurt Reigns tried to fend Rollins off, with Rollins cheating his way through. He almost closed in on a win; but Dean with his face covered in a surgical mask much like Rhodes would cost Rollins the match.
Rollins would vow to finish Dean the following week on Raw on WWE.Com and challenged Dean to a match on Raw. With both men set to finish this; Dean went crazy attacking the official before the match having the match thrown out. As Dean let loose on Rollins bashing his mask into Rollins. And leaving Rollins battered; as Dean drove his elbow through Rollins on a table that was in the crowd as Dean jumped off a structure. Followed by this a match was set for Clash of Champions 2016 for Dean’s briefcase; with both men visiting their indy roots in a Deathmatch. As WWE has yet to see this match; with both introducing lighttube attacks on each other as CZW flavor was added to the conflict.
Dean would go to war with Rollins and come out the victor driving Rollins head into a lightube with curb stomp of his own. Dean would leave battered but with a sense of relief as he felt he defeated his greatest enemy in Seth Rollins for good.
Roman Reigns would continue his dominant title reign on as he now saw a challenger in Chris Jericho. Jericho a veteran heel superstar and a heel would weasel his way to title shot. Jericho has grown sick of his treatment in the WWE; and sick of Shane McMahon’s Raw. Jericho's attitude ended him on Shane’s bad side. Jericho had signed a contract with SmackDown. And bragged about but vowed to leave with the title. Doing every underhanded old school tactic to undermine the champion going into Clash of Champions PPV. Roman Reigns would leave the PPV event still standing as champion; leaving Jericho empty handed.
Chapter 4: Where it all comes together again…
Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose found their way back to each other. With tensions unresolved since earlier this year. Both men grow and go through hell in their own separate stories. Ambrose wasn’t pulling any quick punches and stated he’s cashing in at Raw’s October Halloween Havoc. With two men looking to settle the score. The match was set as Ambrose looked to regain his WWE World Champion he fought so hard to win back in February.
However; during the opening of the show Ambrose was attacked in the parking lot with a car t-boned in his as medical staff rushed over.
A battle royal was hosted to see who will face Reigns later in the night; a mystery masked star underdog won the match. With Rollins revealed as the mastermind.
Reigns would be furious not gaining closure in his feud with Dean Ambrose. Demanded Shane to make tonight’s match a Steel Cage match. Insuring Rollins' ass can’t escape what’s coming to him.
The two faced off in a gritty bloody match; With Rollins sneaking lead pipe in to bash Roman in the head and escape. Rollins is a 2 Time WWE World Champion.
Rollins would have a ceremony the next night to embrace his reclaiming of the title, rubbing it in the face of the WWE fans. With Dean Ambrose rumored to be on the shelf for the next half year. Shane McMahon being furious by Rollins actions put this issue in its place giving the new champion a new threat. Elimination Chamber at Survivor Series 2016; the true meaning of survival. Rollins looked like life was sucked out of him.
Roman Reigns…Rusev…Neville… John Cena…and the Big Show one Elimination Chamber. Rollins would look haunted as each challenger stepped the game up. With power in Roman Reigns; Big Show; and Russev; speed and technical skill laid in Neville… and the Established skill in John Cena. Rollins would feel closed week to week; as he faced new challenges and new surprises. As the new Raw roster is all hungry for the gold and looking to solidify a place in the new WWE.
Seth against all odds survived two years back to back. Proving his skill and determination.
However, his moment was crushed by Dean Ambrose! Dean cashed in the Money in The Bank and regained his WWE World Championship.
Dean Ambrose pulled the hoax to bait Rollins where he wanted it. As Ambrose would pridefully say, nothing is holding him back. With Reigns insisting on his match; Rollins invoked his rematch clause at December’s Road Block. With the stakes raised as they will collide in a Hell in a Cell. These two took a trip down memory line in their shared history over the past 2 years putting each other through hell. The odds looked closed in; as Rollins flaunted how quick Ambrose crumbled as a champion before. As the build up spoke for itself with the history between these two. Both went to hell; as Ambrose walked out the survivor. Leaving Rollins broken in the ring; as Ambrose stood above the cell raising the title.
In turn; Shane was impressed and inspired by the roster at Survivor Series. Created a 5 man Scramble at Road Block the winner will challenge the World Champion at the 2017 Royal Rumble. With these men all knowing of each other; battered and scared from the chamber; but a second shot at redemption lingered. The speed was turned up with the scramble stipulation; Reigns managed by his odds; skill and luck earned his way to becoming a 1# contender.
Reigns and Ambrose were back on track for the showdown and rematch a year to the date of their last and almost a year since WrestleMania 32. With the hype building up Ambrose looked to prove himself as champion by beating his two former Shield mates who he has fought tirelessly to not be left in their shadow. Rollins would instigate the conflict as he was wheelchair bound; and incite distrust between the two as both expected more of straight out conflict between the two men.
With Dean Ambrose proving his victory at Royal Rumble 2017. Ambrose pushed; however full blown distrust set upon him and Reigns which resulted in a brawl.
Rollins would manufacture this conflict and pick up the bones of it; however, Rollins would fake his injury and use it to outthink Neville in the Gold Rush tournament. However Shane McMahon wouldn’t let this plot slide. As Rollins and Reigns found their way to being the two finalists in the Goldrush as they will face at Fast Lane 2017 to decide who will challenge the champion at WrestleMania 33.
However, with Reigns determined to rage with Rollins; Shane added the Last Man Standing stipulation to insure fear in Rollins and give Reigns zero restraint. The two faced off at Fast Lane with Reigns looking to actually put Rollins in a wheelchair; he speared Rollins through the set with Reigns winning. However, Reigns continued to beat down Rollins and attack him after the match to the point where local police stepped in and took Reigns out.
Dean Ambrose would go down a brief program with Russev. As Russev and Ambrose would cross paths in a war of words. As the fan favorite champion did everything to get under Russev’s skin; with the two facing off in a singles match for the title with Ambrose retaining the Championship.
Chapter 5: WrestleMania ShowDown…Part 2
Due to Reigns actions he was suspended from the WWE; and pending termination as a huge lawsuit was issued. Shane’s job, the future of WWE and WrestleMania 33 all under siege. Dean Ambrose left with no one to face; however it was just a ploy.
The board of directors, furious , wanted stability and put new faith in Triple H; who returned to face Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 33 for control of Raw. Reigns refusing to be fired showed up on Raw to confront Dean Ambrose and set the narrative straight at WM 33. Causing Dean to finally snap and brutally attack Reigns. Hinting at psycho heel mindset onsetting Ambrose. However; Rollins compromised to save the WWE. Rollins will be inserted into the WM 33 title match and he will drop all the charges.
Ambrose was paranoid and decaying mentally; Reigns refused to have Rollins intrude on WrestleMania again… he looked to face Rollins on Raw one more time to end this. Ambrose would interfere by attacking both men. In an off way wearing his old Shield gear beating both men with chairs.
The tides were taking a new turn as constant war between these former stablemates has taken WWE by storm. As many see this as the final chapter in the conflict. The three would face off with the lines blurred
A Heroic but rejected by the fans Roman Reigns fighting for the title he was robbed off; Ambrose in a state of paranoia looking to write last year's defeat; and Rollins' cunning way to get back to the title.
Dean managed to retain his championship. Leaving outwitted Rollins and a heartbroken defeated Reigns.
Chapter 6: New Beginnings
The Shield members would part ways on WWE TV with Reigns being drafted to SmackDown to face new horizons and new issues. Struggling to get back to the top over the next year and facing an identity crisis within himself.
Dean Ambrose's insanity and lust for his champion would drive him to new lengths; as Rollins plotted with Triple H to regain the Authority's control of the WWE and set WWE back 4 years.
However, with the Authority back in power they faced a series of opposition and lack of supporters now. As Triple H and Rollins held down the Raw roster. They would be confronted by the 2017 Hall of Famer Kurt Angle who grew sick of this. Rollins would attack Neville after defeating Neville in a near match. Rollins trying to teach the cruiserweight lesson. Angle would put a stomp to this and drop Triple H with Angle Lock who tried to intervene.
Angle would come out of retirement to face Triple H at Raw’s Payback. Angle in his first match back would defeat Rollins and Triple H with his alliance with Neville in a Tag Team match. Angle and Triple H would revisit their past rivalry from 2000-2002 with zero love less. Angle looked to stand up to Triple H and what WWE has become and he saw what Triple H was planning to do when it was the damn blueprints back in 2000. With Triple H looking to put this returning legend in his place. Triple H would slide to a victory with a surprise sledgehammer shot and with help from a goon ref.
Rollins engaged Neville; who looked for a defining victory. While Rollins looked to reassert himself and put himself back to regaining the WWE World Championship.
Dean Ambrose continued as mentally unstable champion; attacking John Cena when he decided to sign with Raw in response to fix the war against the Authority. However he was targeted and attacked by Dean Ambrose. Dean brutally attacked Cena as a provocation to the fans. Cena very rarely hunted like a dog in this way; and pursued by a crazy champion. With Dean looking to kill everything he isn’t and what the fans wanted him to become. Dean and Cena were said to square off in a Street Fight.
Roman Reigns would debut on SmackDown defeating Heath Slater. However he suffered a brutal attack and sib shattering Spear from Rhyno. Rhyno grew sick of being treated like a joke with Slater. As he wanted to step his game up and put this entitled new star in his place. Rhyno would flaunt the fact of Roman’s recent failures; the fans' failure to rally behind him. And Roman not being as close to the star he was said out to be. Rhyno came off as the angry veteran who’s been in the industry since Roman was in grade school. Roman would look to prove himself in a new hostile land. Roman and Rhyno would lead a series of attacks on each other as a war of spears was ready to be fought at Backlash 2017.
With Payback over with; we head to Extreme Rules 2017. With John Cena taking it to Dean Ambrose on Raw. Attacking the champion and AA’ing him off the set. However; Dean returned later in the night to praise Cena. And brutally attacking Cena again. Dean saw this as Cena’s downfall and destroying his morale. Just like the fans did to him. With Dean trying to change who the fans love. These two took a new turn in a Last Man Standing match. Cena managed to overcome and defeat the villainous Ambrose. However; Ambrose brutally attacked Cena after his victory as Ambrose barely failed to make it to his feet. With kayfabe rumors of Ambrose shattered Cena’s ankle.
Roman Reigns proved his point and rolled on. However; the SmackDown roster wasn’t friendly to this new star. Roman Reigns was confronted by Russev who Reigns pinned in a Tag Team match that night. Russev would not tolerate it. Locking Roman in his signature Camel Clutch with Roman passing out in an officials rushing to break it up. Russev would prove to be a new obstacle for Reigns. With Russev targeting Reigns after he saw Reigns embarrassing him in that tag team match. Roman looked to stick it to Russev whenever he could. Insulting Rusev; which resulted in Russev costing Roman his Money In The Bank qualifying match. These two were set for a showdown at Money in The Bank. With Russev coming close; Roman managed to prevail.
At Extreme Rules 2017; a Extreme King Of The Ring 2017 was in the works. With Rollins/Kurt Angle advancing to a Semi Finals match at the event. While Triple H faced AJ Styles. Angle’s ability was in question with Triple H’s victory. Angle would fight himself in a hole. As Rollins would mock Angle’s for tribulations. He never left WWE over Triple H he left because of a pill problem. Rollins would look to demoralize Angle as he barely got through the tournament.
Angle would prevail in a heart moving victory against Rollins in a Steel Cage. Styles would prevail against Triple H in a Stretcher match in the Semi Finals. With; AJ Styles defeating Kurt Angle in a Ladder match to the crown. However both men with a storied past shook hands and embraced and it proved Angle could still go.
However; the following night he was brutally attacked by a series of unknown NXT goons hired by Triple H who took Angle out in the parking lot. As Shane McMahon who was rumored to return to Raw to confront HHH and Rollins was left to fight alone. Shane took it to both men but was quickly outmatched and laid broken in the ring.
However; Shane had heart to get his WWE back. But it seemed like a hopeless effort. Triple H put hope in Rollins to defeat Shane in an Ambulance match. Shane would have heart and lead a series of guerilla attacks against Rollins when he knew his back was against the Raw. He put on a show on at the go home Raw diving off the set onto laid out Rollins as officials and emts rushed as Shane showed where he wears his heart.
Rollins defeated Shane however; Shane would exit out of the ambulance before it drove off. Rollins looked to finish Shane with angered Triple H but returning Kurt Angle saved Shane McMahon’s very livelihood.
John Cena continued to feud with Dean Ambrose with the feud taking a vicious turn. As Ambrose acted more erratically. Attacking Cena at his home. With Cena retaliating and brawling with Dean until it got onto the streets of the venue and police surrounded the two men. Cena and Dean took one final destination; to Hell. Hell in a Cell. With Cena walking out as champion; ending Dean where his second reign really got moving.
We come back to Roman Reigns who would defeat Russev in a Flag match on the rebound SmackDown. However, Roman was attacked by Rhino; Slater; Russev. However, returning Goldberg stopped this.
Goldberg contemplated his career being over; but thought back to May 2016 with his friendship with Roman. Promising him a future match one day. When Goldberg was considering retirement. Reigns encouraged him. Goldberg was back; but where his gratitude turned competitive. Goldberg realized WM 33 wasn’t the end.
Reigns would take comfort in this friendship; as they relied on each other to defeat the 3 man coalition against Roman. But; Goldberg was clear he wanted a match. Where Roman doubted himself; Goldberg urged him. But; Goldberg left Roman with that mindset with a Spear. Slowly Roman would boil over leveling Goldberg with a Spear. As Roman looked to find himself; and Goldberg in his fight for immortality and that rush every time.
Roman lost in honorable fashion; however he skipped on the handshake due to heart break in defeat.
Summer Slam 2017
Dean Ambrose continued to chase that silver dragon; but King Of The Ring 2017 AJ Styles was in that picture; the hot Samoa Joe was in that picture; Kevin Owens was on the warpath; and John Cena was the champion. It looked to be the red SummerSlam main event. With the story writing itself.
Ambrose dying to regain the title and his brutal battles with Cena; Ambrose and Owens bloody past; Owens/Cena rivalry/ Owens/AJ Styles rivalry/ Styles and Joe’s years of history in TNA. Multiple dynamics to a Champion Scramble given a 30 minute time limit.
An explosive thrilling match; but Cena walked out champion in this late career resurgence.
Shane McMahon and Kurt Angle united together; Triple H and Rollins have unleashed their ammo but they keep standing. It was to come to a resolution. Tornado Tag Team Falls Count Anywhere match with the Control of Monday Night Raw on the line. Rollin and Triple H side by side looking to capture the Authority's permanent control and bold new Raw looking to resume progress.
This match was vicious. With Angle and McMahon reliving KTOR 01 just as partners and with respect for each other due to that very match. Rollins and Triple H operated as a devastating unit.
However Shane would go coast to coast on Triple H on the outside. With Angle trapping Rollins in Angle lock for an iconic Summer Slam victory.
Raw was back in the right hands.
Roman Reigns demoralized and was now being mocked by The Miz. The Miz would taunt this; as he uses this as an exploit for Miz TV. With Roman crashing it; However Miz used Roman’s previous enemies in Rhino, Russev, Slater to triple powerbomb Roman. Emotions ran high in this. With Goldberg even trying to talk sense into Roman. Roman in the weeks leading up to Summer Slam would regain stability in defeating each star in dramatic fashion. As Roman would challenge The Miz for his IC Championship.
The Miz using a ‘’stunt double’’ dressed as fan would cheap shot Roman with brass knuckles allowing The Miz to slide his way to cheap pinfall.
