My roommate got his deluxe Varrg and Vallak today. They look great. So good that I immediately added a Varrg to my pile of loot on Big Bad haha. Added a Vaarg you say?! You'll fall in love with these little guys, you'll need more!

Besides, I also have preorders out for two trolls and the All-Star wave which I have NO idea what I’m gonna do with!

Supposedly there’s a sale happening tomorrow morning for some kind of special figure, as well as a few in stock items at Store Horsemen. 9am EST is when it starts

I think I'm finally going to dip a toe in this line. The pieces shown off here just look incredible. Is it smart to just wait for the next pre-order drop to come out? It seems like prices jump pretty significantly after the initial window closes.

It seems like prices jump pretty significantly after the initial window closes. come on in the water is fine! Keep in mind, it's not WWE Mattel Ultimates, Masterverse or Hasbro Marvel Legends, Black Series or G.I. Joe classified, meaning that you're going to get single-jointed elbows and knees. But when you get passed that you're looking at premium toys, painted head-to-toe, lovingly sculpted by the 4Horsemen, with an amazingly non-toxic online community. The Horsemen really do have the fans in mind, I mean look at this pre-order...there were two drops, and they still had a little bit extra left over (all sold out now). They haven't had In Stock Sales (ISS) for a while, but expect this latest wave of vamps and the flock to have some ISS in the near future (their extra stock). Failing that, hit up their FB communities like Mythic Legions Cabal - really good trades, fair prices, and a very welcoming community. Just requires patience. And if you have the means, going to conventions is another easy way to score these figures at close-to-offering prices. LegionsCon is happening in early November in New Jersey. And yes, always get in on the pre-order windows (usually a month long) if you want to score these figs at the cheapest price they will ever be.

The care and thought behind each figure is really what drew me in finally. The sculpt detail, attention to coloring, and overall aesthetic on these figures is just incredible. I've been on a bit of a fantasy kick lately since the Rings of Power started airing - I started playing Magic the Gathering for the first time in almost 2 decades and really took a close look at this line. I'm not sure exactly what direction I'm going to go with a collection, but it's been fun getting acquainted with the mythology and the various groups. It looks like I missed them at a convention in Cleveland by a couple of weeks. But that gives me time to do a little more research and see what I'm interested in collecting.

one piece of advice that I think is amazing and runs counter to what you'll ever hear from any other collector - and it's from Bill over at DorkLair Youtube channel, is to forget about the past figures! I know it's crazy, especially if you're a completist, but the aftermarket is so high, it's not worth it and inevitably the 4H brings back previously in-demand figures via their All-Stars wave. Now that's with a caveat, it's fan voted (so you might not get your grail) and these figs take a year from pre-order to receiving them, so think long looong term game here.
Again, it's not stopping you from dropping bills down to get that Attlus or Otho figs from their kickstarter back in 2015, but you will be paying through the teeth for them. However 4H is showing that they can revisit and give us v2 of these characters which are even better. We just saw it with Artymus v2 and Baron Volligar v2, and Atill and Gorgo v2s are going to be released very soon.
So patience is the biggest thing to have.

I’ll chime in and say that I got hooked when I saw they were doing a Legion Builder sale at the beginning of this year. I bought some Knights, Goblins, and just unnamed characters to see how I liked them. Eventually, I got some more characters that actually had names and lore - a little more costly, but the paint work is VERY well done on each of the figures.
Since then I’ve ordered a bunch more via preorder. I’m not paying super close attention to the canon, I’m just having fun setting up displays, and for that reason alone I’d recommend the line. There’s plenty of customization too, so you’ll find a good use for your figures.

yeah for me, I collected MOTUC for the last 10 years and all they ever did was sit on my display cases, I mean as nice as the He-Man Classics buck is, it's very limited. Then a local toy collector offered to buy my collection and I traded some for a couple of Legions. Was instantly hooked. I follow the canon to the extent of the factions, but you really don't have to. I just like the mythos in Mythoss (ha!) about this tower at a cross-roads on the official map of the place with all 4 sides showing off each of the good factions and the beast-gods. And then on the evil side of course you have the four horsemen/woman which makes it even cooler. It's actually kinda cool world-building from the 4H.
Anyways, what I'm realizing is that I'm having waaaaay more fun taking pics of >these< figs than I ever did with my MOTUC collection. Always loved sword & sorcery fantasy so that helps too. And yes I was outside looking in for a long time because those afermarket prices are insane, but getting in on the pre-orders and joining the community is the way to go. And the Captiain is right, pic-taking is one thing, customizing these figures is a whole other level of the hobby - they are so easy to part swap or paint (though I haven't tried painting myself). And yes the 4H reuse parts, but in such a brilliant way!

"For Eathyross!" Awesome. Owain and the Templars are probably still my favorites out of the figures I have! Got my Headless Horseman the other day. Looking forward to opening him up, he looks great!

I think it adds a little something more. I’ve seen others use a one-hand axe which also makes a lot of sense for beheading stuff lol

going to be the best wave yet - I heard we're not ready for the stuff they are going to show on Nov-4 If you're on the fence about Mythic Legions, now is the time.
