I asked Steve in the Q&A and he stated that he was trying to get some new features on this Goldberg. One of them was having a tan skin tone. I personally want a new torso at the very least. Goldberg had a very unique upper body and his traps were huge. Thinking realistically though, it’ll just be the triple H body. At the very least give him glossy boots. Goldberg always wore glossy boots and yet to this day Mattel hasn’t bothered. Even Jakks got that right. New younger headsculpts are needed. The same Goldberg scan has been used to death at this point.

Sounds like a boring figure to me and one I'd skip, but would be happy for those who want this.
For me, it's like Stone Cold. Not too many variants I need of a bald headed dude in black trunks and black boots who had a near-identical look his entire career.

I really don’t want to see any reused scans. This is the Ultimate Edition, it should be a Goldberg figure at it’s premium. Fists, belt something to make it stand out. Otherwise, it’s just milking a cash cow. We’ve seen Hogan come with three scans, belt, glasses etc. I’ll take a three scans over a generic shirt I wouldn’t display him in. |

Since it’s an Amazon exclusive it’s got a budget all to itself, but considering his simple attire choice it’s more comparable to Austin’s figure. Steve came with 3 heads but only 1 was new. Of course, Bill’s first head was pretty good but getting those eyebrows to look stern instead of ‘concerned’ has always been an issue. So I could see that one, the newer screaming one, and maybe a smirking scan added as well, which I would prefer over say, a tongue out version. Austin had a new torso, I believe, so getting a new one for Goldberg makes sense as well. Maybe they could use the most recent Rock torso as it’s close to Bill’s physique. Like you said, Steve mentioned trying for new things, so maybe this is where it’s at. Also, he very rarely wore a Harley jacket, but never with ring gear, so no need for that or an extra set of arms, but he’ll probably have a cloth shirt thrown in anyway. I’d like the gloss boots as well, but I have my doubts. Add in some gloved hands and both titles and I think that’s a baseline for what we’ll probably get. |

I think it will be very similar to the Amazon Ultimate Warrior: new head sculpt, screaming/existing head, spare pair of hands, 2 belts (WHC and US title). And I'd be OK with that.

Goldberg was honestly a bad choice for a UE for a number of reasons IMO. His figures just do not sell well. Anytime I go to a major retailer, it seems like it has a lonely Goldberg or two from waves ago still sitting on the shelf. Secondly, I don't know if Goldberg really warrants a UE considering the lack of entrance accessories and the fact that other elites typically include alternate hands, or a head like the WCW 2-Pack.
And last -- the way I expect Mattel to make this, there's not going to be much "ultimate" about it. Its gonna have a pale skin tone, no one's gonna be happy with the torso choice, we're gonna get the same scans from five years ago, pads will be wrong, boots will be wrong...whatever it is, its not going to be up to par with the Ultimate line. I hope they prove me wrong on that.

I hope they prove me wrong on that. Agree. Although, I still wanted an Ultimate. It’s just the lack of accessories/uniqueness that throws me off. He’s a very simple figure, so there’s a lot to fill in terms of what you’re getting in terms of your money. I think if the ‘03 version would of won it would of been easier to pull off. We could of gotten a beardBerg scan, pissed off look and a smirking scan. Accessories could of been a kneebrace, multiple hands, steel chair etc. Actually, this one could bring two belts if Mattel pleases. I still remember when Bill said we would get a new torso for Goldberg after the Raw main event ring, never got one. |

I can live with that torso but they need to retire those overly muscular legs. |
