Really bugs me when Mattel just remakes old Jakks stuff. Did we really need Sherri in the SS '92 gear again? Why can't she be in another line with her far more iconic WM7 look, or in the Legends line with Dibiase gear? I mean Jakks hasn’t had the license for over 12 years now and no one wants to display their Jakks with their Mattel’s anymore. I think I woulda preferred WM8 for a HBK Sherri but I don’t have a problem with this.

But still, it just seems lazy when it comes to characters that had so many iconic looks and never wore the same costume twice, to just go ahead and rehash an old Jakks look. What about SummerSlam '89 with the ponytail (having it disconnect in the middle to simulate Liz and Beefcake cutting it would be a nice touch), WM8 HBK as you mentioned, her beautiful WM9 Tatanka look, the various different looks from the Macho King and Dibiase eras, etc. I'd understand them going back to SS '92 if they were running low on ideas, but man...it feels like they didn't even try to be original lol.

APA look worse than jakks figures with those lollipop heads. wrong skin tone on RonEddie head looks malformed. wrong generic latino skin tone. old bad booker head molly sculpt might be good, but youd never know from the paint rvd i'll take it ultimate nwo macho awesome The head also doesn't look anything like Ron, that is a terrible head sculpt. totally agree. it's so bad. another issue i have with a lot of these figures is the wirey/skinny kind of flat two dimensional look lots of them have. pencil necks etc. these are wrestling figures. to me, simmons and bradshaw figures should look closer to the warlord figures in size instead the figures make apa look barely bigger than a cm punk

Yeah Mattel for *checks notes* re-releasing a figure made over a decade ago by a completely different company that's now completely upgraded in every way!

Was hoping for Mania 7 Sherri, as well. I'll get the SummerSlam version to go with Shawn, but I think WM7 should have been first out with her. Mattel makes so many weird decisions like this. We also need Queen Sherri as a Retro.
Some stuff I like and want. Acolytes, SummerSlam 04 Randy, Mighty Molly, UE NWO Macho, and I love both Superstars and Retro Mankind. Happy with the Retros and Superstars in general. Would have liked to see Heenan already as a Retro. Seems like all of the New Gen Ultimates are pretty awesome. Can't wait for those and that HBK.

Are we going to get to see a look at all of the figures they showed today in one place? Doesn't ringside usually put all of the pictures from a reveal on Page 1 of the thread?

Yes, it's really strange that Mattel released Sherri's most iconic HBK look after releasing a look that pretty much works for Macho and M$M (and wrestling gear underneath) a couple of years ago. Real mind-boggling stuff.

It's amazing how many people on this board have zero perspective that a majority of collectors haven't been collecting as long as they have and aren't interested in buying a Jakks Classic for for their Mattel collection.

It's a weird argument to me since at this point Jakks Classics are as far away time-wise from current Mattels as Hasbro were from Jakks Classics in the mid-00s.

It's amazing how many people on this board have zero perspective that a majority of collectors haven't been collecting as long as they have and aren't interested in buying a Jakks Classic for for their Mattel collection. Nonsense. There's nothing wrong with hoping that they would've gone with a fresh look from the literally DOZENS of outfits she sported over the years vs something that was already created - be it LJN, Hasbro, Jakks or anything else. If we're limited to 2-3 outfits then sure, I expect to see the same costumes overlap across the various different brands. But when nobody has made a Sherri from WM7, WM8, WM9, RR '91, RR '93, SummerSlam '91, her 1993 wrestling gear, etc - yeah it's a bit of an eye roll to see the SS '92 look again. Let's hit up the fresh untapped stuff first, THEN remake the looks that are already out there. What's so bad and unthinkable about that exactly?

Sherri is in the Summerslam line. She is in her Summerslam attire.

My biggest complaint is the triangle cuts on Savage’s shirts. They don’t look good at all. I appreciate what they’re trying to do but if they can’t get the fringes right then I’d probably prefer them to do either sleeveless or short sleeved.

i don’t wanna go back through a bunch of pages…can someone give me a rundown of all the complaints about the reveals? Acolytes were bad. Eddie is ugly. Sherri was already done by Jakks. Bret still had a five-head. Macho has a 3rd head with his tongue sticking out that he probably didn’t do during that time. And mine is that I’m not a fan of the triangle cuts on Macho’s sleeves.
