So I'm working on a Hollywood Hogan 2002 using an elite 34. Trying to remove the immortal tattoo on his back using goofoff I ruined the paint on the figure. Is there a way to fix this? I'm not experienced with paints and whatnot so gonna need in depth summary on how to restore damaged paint or someone who is ok doing a job for me. Thanks in advance.

Do you have a picture of the ruined figure (both sides)?

Do you have a picture of the ruined figure (both sides)? I can get one but need to figure out how to post it here.

I got your pics, tenup. It actually looks OK with what you did using the Copic. I'm actually surprised that it had that level of coverage. You could paint the entire back with it if you want it all to match. If you want it to look more like the original skin of the retail figure, you can actually something called Novus Plastic Polish. The 1 2 3 kit is on Amazon for less than 20 bucks and the 2 3 kit is cheaper. The 1 is just a cleaner but you might want it, too.
You start with the 3 and buff the whole of the back where it's discolored and it will take all the screw up stained plastic off. Then you buff with 2 and it brings it back to the same color and texture of the original skin colored plastic. Might be worth the investment as you can use it to take scratches and marks off anything plastic, not just figures but also I used it to repair the lens on my glasses recently and it didn't appear to change the prescription, polishing the lens on your headlights of your car and whatever else. I fixed a scuff on my GI Joe helicopter and the plastic was clear and it looks perfect which blew my mind.

I should also mention that if you use step 3 followed by step 1, it's enough to take the clear oily coat that action figures are often coated with from the factory and prepares the surface nicely for painting (for future customs you might work on).
