Here is a variation on "who do you want Powertown to make next." Do you prefer the way they organized the first series (one each from the 50s and 60's, then 4 from the 70s and primarily the 80s) or would you prefer another way to organize these? Would you prefer a series of all AWA figures, then a series of all WCCW figures, then FCW, figures, and so on like that? Would you prefer a wave of 6 figures being all tag teams? Do you prefer a pattern at all or would you rather be suprised by each series? I think a mixture is good for now since it’s early on. Not everyone will want all AWA etc so have something for everyone to keep them hooked. Personally, I’m wanting JCP /NWA 85- 87 era most; Russians, Rock n roll express, Tully, etc.

Personally, I’m wanting JCP /NWA 85- 87 era most; Russians, Rock n roll express, Tully, etc. I think a mixture is probably the best, as it could be hot or cold if they did all one fed in a wave. I personally would go nuts if they did an AWA wave of Nick Bockwinkel, older Verne Gagne, Jerry Blackwell, Baron Von Raschke, Mad Dog Vachon, and the Crusher, Iknow others wouldn’t. My wrestling fandom came from first watching the AWA, then Georgia Championship Wrestling / Crockett on TBS, as well as the WWF golden age. With the advent of the WWE Network I have familiarized myself with WCCW a good amount and can appreciate them, but have not seen much from Mid South, or Florida, or Memphis. I still plan to get all these figures, so whatever they do, I will get them, but the ones I want the most are to fill out JCP, AWA, Georgia, WCCW, Florida, Mid-South, and Memphis in that order.

I was at my buddy's toy shop yesterday and he said that series 2 could be "quite the rush". Take that as you will.

Question for those that have received their orders early without Kerry Von Erich. Did your order on the Powertown Site show that 'everything' shipped or did they denote it to show that Kerry did not ship yet?
Trying to determine if my Kerry is showing up tomorrow with my order or not.

I have the Mattel ones as well but I’d love for Powertown to put out an nwa road warriors. Mattel’s are pretty old and the detail on powertown is going to be a huge improvement and the look if the figure will match other powertown figs. I don’t think powertown figures blends in with the elites as well as we hoped.

All of mine came in today, including Kerry. I am hoping I am in the same boat - that Kerry is included with my order. I am supposed to get mine delivered today, however mine last showed this morning that it was an hour and a half away, so I suspect it will not arrive until tomorrow.

I agree. I think a mixture of talent would be the best approach. I too grew up watching the AWA and would love figures of lots of those wrestlers. Bockwinkel, Blackwell, The High Flyers, The Fabulous Ones, Von Raschke, Vachon, and so many others I would love figures of. I was also a big fan of WCCW, NWA/WCW, and Memphis, so lots of wrestlers from those territories on my wish list too.

I was able to open 3/4 figures (Kerry, Magnum & Brody) I ordered before I had to go to work, and I'm really impressed with them so far. I do have some early nitpicks, and I just want to get them out of the way first.
When Steve came out early and said he didn't want to sacrifice form for extra articulation, I understood where he was coming from. I'm not that upset about the lack of thigh cuts or double jointed elbows and knees. Those were thing that didn't bother me with Super 7's NJPW figures and I'm not going to complain about their absence here. But that upper torso joint just doesn't seem to have any give to them. Far less that Mattel Ultimates. If you're going to add a point of articulation, it should be able to do the job its intended to do.
The same goes from the way they choose to do the wrists. I had thought it would be similar to how Storm does their wrists with the pegs in the arms rather than the hands, but Storm wrists provide a greater range of motion. The pegs can only move from side to side, they can't rotate like Storm's. This isn't really an issue for Kerry or Magnum, but with Brody I found it a bit frustrating that he comes with a signature hand that can't ever be posed properly. And I know technically he still wouldn't be able to achieve the HUSS pose without butterfly joints, but you can't even really fake it either.
I also found myself wishing each guy came with some better hand options. Kerry comes with 1 right claw hand, 1 right fist and two relaxed hands. I would have traded the right fist for a left one, or just throw in two fists with everyone anyway. Brody and Hansen have 0 fists and that just seems odd.
Brody does feel slightly rushed having to be a last second replacement for Dibiase. His feet seem a tad small and his vest and boot covers don't really convey the fur he wore, but I find it a bit unfair to pick on it given how quickly they had to make the change.
As for what I like: right off the bat these are some of the best sculpts I've seen for wrestling figures. The physiques look great without coming off too exaggerated. The Magnum and Kerry heads are exceptionally great, much better than the old Mattel Legends heads. Everyone feels great in hand (although I am still scared to force any joints). I think the Brody head is also pretty good, but the scarring on his forehead does seem a bit too raw, but its not a deal breaker at all. I haven't gotten to put these guys on a shelf next to Ultimates or Elites yet, but from what I've seen from other videos and photos I think the scaling is close enough to blend in.
Right now the Magnum is probably my favorite of the bunch. As silly as it sounds, the chest hair does so much to held him stand out from the others. I'm looking forward to opening Stan Hansen when I get home and see how I'll end up displaying him.
For a first try at making modern wrestling figures from a guy who's been out of the game as long as he was, I'm kind of blown away with Powertown's first wave. There's room for improvement for sure, but I'm more likely to buy figures of people I'm not entirely familiar based on the quality of this first wave. I'd even be down for double dipping on some guys. Maybe like a bloody Brody with an angry expression and better vest/boots.

Just got a notice from UPS. My figs are due to go through customs tomorrow to enter Canada. Got a $140 customs charge! Ouch. Anyone else here outside the US get raped on custom charges?

I got all my figs today including Kerry. So glad I signed up for these. They look amazing. No regrets what so ever. Right away I opened Stan. These are everything I was hoping they would be. Now I have zero reservations about ordering future figures. I just hope they stick to the classic old school theme they got going with this initial wave.

Out for delivery - excitement is mounting! May have to head home from work early (I can work from anywhere so can easily finish work at home).

Mine were delivered yesterday, but we're on vacation this week. Can't wait to open these up the second we get home.
