The more I think about it, it seems very strange to me they would make JYD and Kamala, who already have Mattel figures. Especially when they have a loooong list of other folks under contract who have never had figures before. Technically, Medusa had a Mattel figure as Alundra Blayze too.
Although, I guess they did the same thing in Series 1 with Magnum TA and Kerry Von Erich.
I'm still holding out hope for a tag team series.

Also hoped there'd be a couple more first time figures, oh well.

Was really hoping for Eddie Gilbert, David or Kerry Von Erich, Abby, RNR, Midnight Express. Maybe they’ll come sooner or later

Awww shoot, I thought they had said for sure that Gorgeous George was in series 2. Maybe there were rights issues... I thought of Gorgeous George immediately when I saw the series 2 lineup. Hopefully we still get him. Steve Rosenthal and or/ Greg Gagne should do a Q&A for the fans. Either way, series 2 are all figures I will buy. So awesome to get Dory Funk. Hopefully Terry eventually too. |

I'll wait for the prototypes but the wave feels a bit lacklustre given half of them had Mattel releases (even then, Medusa is one I probably want the most!).

I am surprised the Series 2 Lineup changed so much from the previously mentioned possible lineups by Gagne. Briscoe and Funk will hopefully give us 1970s era NWA titles. Or perhaps Briscoe will come with a Florida title or even a NWA tag title. Kamala and JYD will probably come with their Mid South attires. Would expect to get the North American title with Dog. Excited for both of these! PowerTown probably wanted to go with some more recognizable names with those two...Wahoo is also a great addition, it's amazing that he hardly has any figures made. Perhaps a NWA U.S. title for him? Medusa will hopefully be AWA. Hope these are available to ship shortly after February! I hope to see Kevin Von Erich in the next wave; would have been a good time to add him with The Iron Claw getting ready to release...

Very excited for Funk, Brisco, and Wahoo. I wonder if they will do older versions of Kamala and JYD from their pre-WWF days to differentiate them from Mattels. That Mattel Kamala is pretty perfect but I am interested to see what PowerTown does with him.
Didn't they say they would have an announcement about the Remco series today as well?

I love Dory finally, Briscoe and Chief McDaniel auto purchase.. Kamala is a must have despite me having him as a Mattel violating my rule…I just love the Ugandan Giant

I hope that JYD and Kamala are younger versions, to differentiate from the Mattel releases. I wonder what era Madusa will be from.

Solid lineup for sure. The NWA guys, not an era I collect so im good there. Medusa...well, if I knew they had Bull Nakano signed I would actually get her lol.
Kamala and JYD are interesting. The Mattel Kamala is actually my favorite elite fig. So a Powertown Kamala would have to look noticeably better than that for me to be interested. And I totally think they could pull that off.
JYD...depends on how he comes out. I just put away my white trunks JYD recently cause I felt he was a guy I didnt need multiple figures of in my display. But, if Powertown's looked killer, I guess I would get him.

Dory Funk - Absolutely will buy
Medusa - Absolutely will buy
Jack Brisco - Absolutely will buy
Wahoo McDaniel - Absolutely will buy
Kamala - Waiting to see how it turns out, but will most likely buy
Junkyard Dog - This is the one I am most hesitant about - I have both Mattel figures, and the Jakks Classic - do I really need another one? If he is from an early younger look - then I will get him. Or, I may just end up getting him as part of the bundles anyway.

So Series 1 original preorders were Sept 16-Oct 31 last year, so roughly 6 weeks. I believe they did a second preorder at the end of the year, and deliveries were made late May, but mostly June for these. This was after the leg breaking debacle with the first batch.
So let's assume the timeframes match, and Preorders are mid-February through the end of March, that would give us figures in hand 7 months later, so around Halloween 2024.

Not too thrilled with this lineup. Only one that really interests me is Wahoo McDaniel. JYD could be good if they do his Mid-South days, younger head sculpt and maybe the baby blue tights. Not too interested in Brisco, Dory or Madusa. I might have been more interested in Dory, if he were paired with Terry. Kamala I could be interested in, if it's a different look than his WWF/Mattel release.
