Man I really wanted Kevin and David figures asap, bummer.
With that said a WCCW Kamala would be an instant buy.
Mid South Dog with a 'fro is a maybe.
Madusa is an easy pass.
Dory and Jack are easy big name NWA champs, so I'm half interested.
Wahoo will be incredible, star of the wave.

Not many toyetic figs in this lineup for me. Brisco and Dory were great wrestlers. They just don’t make for great figures. Kamala we have. Same with JYD. Only bonus there with be the MSW NA title belt which would be cool if included. Madusa and Wahoo are fine. Just not someone I would buy.
Was hoping for more Von Erichs or Nikita to go with Magnum.

If they keep up the trend of including a territories era belt with each guy that could be pretty enticing for who I think about getting

This line is incredible. Possibly the best headsculpts of any line.
Hasbro and mattel better take notice because i can see this beeing the next todd mcfarlane, the4horsemen.
The price may sting but the quality is exceptional

You already know this Kamala is gonna be way better than Mattel’s. JYD will be too plus it’ll be a different look. His whole physique was different. Not to mention hair and facial hair. Madusa is a huge must have. So is wahoo. Def gonna get dory too.

Madusa just resigned a legends deal with wwe not too long ago too, so it’s possible that we went up getting two Madusas close together

So the timing is a bit different as far as wrestlers chosen.
Series 1 40's & 50's - Lou Thesz 50's & 60's - Verne Gagne 80's - Magnum TA 80's - Kerry Von Erich 80's - Stan Hansen 80's - Bruiser Brody
Series 2 70's - Wahoo McDaniel 70's - Dory Funk Jr. 70's - Jack Briscoe 80's - Kamala 80's - Junkyard Dog 80's & 90's - Madusa
I am curious if this is bad news for any other wrestlers that were big in the pre-70's timeframe - Gorgeous George for instance.
Don't get me wrong, I fully suspect that the 70's and 80's are probably the best targets at this point, as by the early 90's the territories were pretty well wiped out by WWF, so this is probably their money makers.
It just feels like this list is kind of a miss.

The longer it goes on the more difficult it will be to viably sell the older talent.

Personally I'm not interested in talent that already have a fine Elite version.

Was really hoping that the February on-sale wouldn't be a preorder...With the long delay between series, I was thinking these might already be in production and/or available once they announced them.

The initial announcement said multiple bits of news is coming. /photo/1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1729621981664891067%7Ctwgr%5E6d4c3f8b76ff4f3e31e91d640997be5bed14f53e%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fforum.wrestlingfigs.com%2Fthread%2F371557%2Fpowertown-wrestling-figures%3Fpage%3D7

Yeah, we already know who is in Remco Series 1, so now just waiting for pics and preorder information. Not my cup of tea, but for those that love them, they will be popular. If preorders for Ultra Series 2 is in February, I would hope we get pics or renders soon. That is what I am waiting for.

Madusa just resigned a legends deal with wwe not too long ago too, so it’s possible that we went up getting two Madusas close together Can I ask where did you hear this? From previous comments AFA made I was under the impression those signed with Powertown were under exclusive deals and so unable to be signed with WWE/Mattel simultaneously. It's great news if what you say is true though, since Mattel has really dragged their feet with her, Madusa obviously needs and deserves a figure, and hopefully with a better headscan since the Alundra Blayze one was a mediocre likeness at best. Don't get me wrong I'm happy she's getting a Powertown figure, but she still needs to be done in Mattel's line.

My suspicion is that she is in fact back with a Legends type deal because she was added back into the WWE Supercard game. She had a few cards in there previously as Alondra Blayze (none as Madusa) right around the time her previous figure came out. There is a thread in the Mattel WWE room regarding the connection between the game and figure availability, and while it is not 100% confirmed, it does appear to be accurate, as we have had numerous new legends in the game right around when their figures were announced or deals made. Just recently there were first time cards for the Headbangers, Sandman, and return to the game of Harley Race, and both Dudley Boys, all who we know have re-signed back with WWE/Mattel recently.

I don’t know that those people are available to Mattel. We won’t know that until mattel confirms that which wouldn’t be until they announce a figure.

That is absolutely true - but the pattern for the last few years has been consistent.
