Anybody have any suggestions on how to make some good looking ring floor mats? I used to have the RSC mat but I can’t find it and my son wants to try making some good ones. I see you can buy some online but they are expensive.
I saw someone just use black duct tape on cardboard and it looked ok but they didn’t put the ring on the mat to actually see how it looked together

Big Arik Cannon fan? I’ve seen him at pretty much every local show I’ve been at since moving to the Midwest. Seems like a really solid dude.
Anyway, are you looking for more playability or just general look? If it’s look, Michaels sells foam rolls that you can unroll, lay flat, and then put the ring on top. The only issue is the thinner foam marks easily.

I’d say I’m going for more playability than look but he’s practicing stop motion videos on tik tok so look would be good too. When you say the thinner foam marks up easily do you mean it leaves marks on the figures or the mat gets marked up easily?

Gotcha. The foam marks up easily. I bought some recently just to cover some dead space on one of my displays and every little thing that rubs against it kind of shows. I’m not sure it would even show up if I took photos so it’s hard to say if it would work well for him or not. If you want to check it out: www.michaels.com/black-foam-roll-by-creatology/10466090.html

I originally bought foamboard, and cut/scored it into long strips that actually fold and stack like the real thing but they were so thick and dont lay flat. I switched to craft foam, its thin and easily marked but having color options and all is nice. if just for display the craft foam would be a good option

He helped train me around 19 years ago, back in the mpw days. Man wish I could go back, those were great times.

spam is reissuing theirs. They make them in blue, black or mdoern (more like today where it's solid instead of being sectioned into mats) I have the blue ones from their first go-around, they're awesome.
Edit: I'm apparently not allowed to say who makes them. They're the same guys that make the arena crowd dioramas.

If so when did they get added to the list of banned companies?

For around my AEW ring, I used 1/16th inch adhesive rubber pads. You can get them from Amazon for pretty cheap, cut them to place. They look good.
