Well, tonight my fiance gave me a birthday present WAY early. (B Day isn't until Feb 7th). Anyway, it was the Halloween "The Night He Came Home" box set by Neca featuring Michael Myers and Dr. Loomis.
I don't have pics to post but most everyone has seen this set. But Pics don't do it justice anyway. It is amazing. I'm not a MOC collector so I opened it as quickly as possible. Which isn't very quick because it's packed right. I've never undone so many twisty ties in my life.
So the base...
It's the front steps of the Myers house and it's really nice in detail. It looks exactly like the rails on the porch, the steps and the side walk. Someone really did their homework when making this base. It has the front steps and there are not only made on leaves scattered on the steps, but the set comes with a little bag of leaves that you can scatter on the base wherever you want. Also included is a freaking twig that you can lay down wherever. Now that's detail! The railing on the porch has a peg to place the included pumpkin which is designed after the pumpkin that you see during the opening credits to Halloween. A big plus is that the pumpkin lights up when you push the top of it. The downfall to this is that it won't stay lit up on it's own. You have to hold the little button down. Would have been neat for display purposes had the pumpkin been able to stay lit up...but no biggie.
Dr. Loomis...
Wow. This figure looks amazing. The face is VERY well done. Looks just like him. The clothing is really amazingly accurate from the coat, to the suit underneath, to the boots even. It is quite poseable for a figure of it's kind. It has multiple spots of articulation in the arms. The right arm bends at the elbow and the right hand is ball jointed. The Right hand can also hold the gun which is detailed really well even. The legs are not posable which isn't a big deal. The head is ball jointed so you can have Loomis looking up, or down or whatever direction you wish. There are alot of difference poses that you can go with with Loomis. Very nice.
Michael Myers...
Best Michael Myers figure ever. It's hands down way better than the Movie Maniacs figure by McFarlane and much better than the Sideshow toys doll-like figures. The likeness is dead on. Best likeness of a Michael Myers figure yet. The head is ball jointed and moves really well. You can even put him in the position to do the trademark Michael Myers head tilt. The arms are quite articulated as you can move them up and down and out to the side if you wish. Legs are and waste as non movable but it's not necessary. His right hand is designed to hold the included butcher knife and the knife fits in the hand really well. You don't have to keep the rubber band on it that holds it into place in the packaging.
So all in all this set is an easy 10 out of 10. It looks really good placed near the Freddy vs. Jason set that Neca released. I got that one a few months back. I now need to go pick up The Crow: Reflections. That is next on my agenda. So fans of the Halloween series...this one is really a must.
