So with it now being 20 years since Randy Orton debuted with WWE... what are your overall thoughts on the guy? Overrated? Underrated? The best ever? One of the best ever?
I’d easily say he’s one of the biggest & best stars that we’ve ever seen tbh. I’d say he’s had some of the biggest accomplishments ever, some of the best talent we’ve ever seen, a crazy amount of longevity and I’d even say he’s under appreciated nowadays.

Depends on the booking tbh. He can either be unmissable or unwatchable.
Huge respect for the guy and it's hard to believe that he's one of the last full time RA guy's.

Top 10 of all time within the company in my own opinion. Guy has had an insane career and to be going 20 years consistently with only a few injuries is wild.

He's great, for sure. GOAT 🐐 is all subjective. Here's my top 5 of his off the top of my head:
vs Shawn Michaels - Unforgiven 03 - I just love this match.
5 on 5ski - Survivor Series 03 - Underrated AF. Orton, Jericho and HBK are the bomb in this.
vs Mick Foley - Backlash 04 - What else needs to be said. If you haven't seen this match then your life doesn't mean s***.
vs Christian - Summerslam 2011
vs Jeff Hardy - Hell in a Cell 2018 - Another underrated AF.

Like JBL has said, if you build a wrestler from the ground up, he'd be Randy Orton.

This is going to be an unpopular opinion and I get that we all have our own personal favorites, but I think the only thing remarkable about his career has been its longevity. I consider the majority of his 20 year run to be average at best. He has had moments of brilliance and he looks like a million bucks, actually, I give the guy a ton of credit as I think he looks better now than he ever has and it is great he is having fun with his current role.
However, for at least half his run he has had boring match after boring match and 99/100 when he was put in the main event, it resulted in a lackluster match. People say that when he is "motivated" he is great, but I think that is a massive cop-out and people give him a break for not putting any real effort in. He comes nowhere close to being in my greatest of all time list, as a matter of fact, he is not even in the conversation.
If people are huge fans that is great, as I said we all like different things, but for a career that has been so long, I think there are far more poor, boring and average matches than great ones. I can probably count on one hand actually the amount of "great" Randy Orton matches that I have seen over the last 20 years.

When he's motivated I'm a fan, his legend killer era, evolution (both runs), teaming with Riddle and Edge, all great stuff. But he totally phones it in when he's not that interested in an angle / storyline, I can totally understand that mindset of if you give me crap to work with you'll get crap back. But there are plenty of guys that have been given the dirty end of the shitty stick and turned it into gold... I guess in some people eyes its lazy and in others eyes its standing up for what you believe in.

Orton hasn't done anything memorable since at least his feud with Christian, IMO. He's always just been there to me.

I think Randy Orton is great. He can do anything and wrestle in any title situation.
He can be a main event guy, he can be a guy who goes for the IC or US Titles, he can go for the Tag Titles, or he can just be in a feud in the middle of the card.
The guy is a legit stud. I feel that Randy Orton is probably the perfect sports entertainer.

I liked Orton 2003-04. After then he had drug problems and then turned into the boring viper.

I liked Orton 2003-04. After then he had drug problems and then turned into the boring viper. Did Orton use anything besides steroids and marijuana? I might be wrong totally, and you might've very well just meant the steroids (and he certainly enjoyed those, and paid the price at times), but I've always been under the impression that/hoped that Orton never got into the opiate pills, cocaine, etc.

A very specific type of wrestler. Often very bland. Has the skill and can perform. But more often he is used for his character instead.

Randy is 1 of the greatest. I wasn’t big on him early on but he sure grew on me. He’s in my top 20.
