Randy's honestly underrated by the IWC and various internet pundits.
There's no denying that from the mid-'00s to the early '10s, Randy was an insufferable prick behind the scenes. But, that said, there's no denying that his matches against people like Cena, Christian, Seth, Roman, Dean, Bryan, etc. during that time period were all fanastic. Randy's definitely mellowed out in the last half-decade or so, and ever since his heel turn on Edge in early 2019, he's been on the best run of his entire career, even if he's had to carry the alleged rapist doofus and the crispy clown in doing so.

Nvm I get what he was saying now...he just didn't really answer the question. So…did he use harder drugs? Yes. For years, Edge, Cody Rhodes and others had to babysit him. There are years he doesn’t remember much of because he was out of his mind on booze and drugs. He overdosed on downers in 2006 and almost died, his wife at the time saved his life.

Like JBL has said, if you build a wrestler from the ground up, he'd be Randy Orton. That’s always seemed like a double-edged sword to me, it’s essentially “this is a generic create-a-wrestler.” Similar to when JR would describe people as “best pure athlete” because they didn’t really have much else going for them.

I share the general consensus: when he’s motivated and the material is good, he can do great stuff. but he can also be like watching paint dry when he’s checked out, which has been at times for long periods.

He’s been up and down his whole career for me. I don’t think he’s truly nailed his character until the last 2-3 years recently. My favorite stuff from him all these years later is still his legend killer run. You can’t deny his accomplishments but he’s just kinda there sometimes. Right now he seems to be having a blast with Riddle, and that’s pretty cool.

His Legend Killer & Evolution days will always be his best but he’s also had some real good moments since he became the Viper.
I’m currently loving his work nowadays and I’d love to see em stay in WWE for another 10-20 years.

Where is the little snake anyway?
He’s great, really solid at everything. Wish he had more to work with in terms of storytelling these days, he can work and put anything over but they do throw him out there a lot as just another guy when he’s pretty much the Thor of the WWE right now. Stalwart god-like legend who could smash through everything in his path but is hanging out with Starlo… The Riddler.

Randy Orton is very very good. I have always said 03-06 Orrin was excellent, 07-09 Orton was good, 10-15 was very boring, 16-20 was good and his current run with riddle has been very good.
Orrin is a Top 20 all time to me….but isn’t close to a Mt Rushmore.
