Said it before and I’ll say it again. So glad that I sold off all my collection when I did. I enjoyed it, but if I were still trying to fight scalpers and chase down certain figures I’d have stopped by now anyways ... it’s gotten beyond ridiculous at this point
I haven’t logged on here in months, but I just got the wild hair to come on and see what’s been released and what’s upcoming ... and honestly, it’s just the same things over and over with a handful of exceptions.

I was done too. Sold almost everything. Then I got the itch again and bought everything back. Not the same though, wish I still had the original figures I bought. oh well

I was all in on Jakks, and I loved that Mattel scale was off, so I was able to leave the hobby. But I got dragged back in and the reason why was the figure quality, besides missing my addiction. The Mattels used to be awesome, fantastic joints. The figures were great. Now they look better than back then but half of them have floppy torsos or loose waists. I love getting new figs, but I hate opening them and seeing what's gonna be wrong with them.

It's gonna have to get a whole lot worse before I'm out.
They'd have to do something like Doctor Who did and switch to 3.75 inch figures or some crap.

I gave up basics years ago, I’m all but out on elites, only buy about 10 a year also (if that), but I’m all in on Ultimates so they still have me hooked. I also collect a few retros.
With other lines putting out such amazing stuff (NECA TMNT toon and Movie), Hot Toys etc, and my sealed WWF Nintendo/PlayStation game collection growing, there is only so much you can collect.

Then in 6/8/12 months (maybe even longer) if you’ve not got the itch back then sell them. I’ve seen too many times people rebuy stuff

Since then, I've only bought a couple of exclusives that are still in the 5.5 inch scale. It literally killed the line, including itself. The 3.75 figures lasted a whole two or three waves I think before going back to 5.5. Almost everything they make now is low quality repaints (outside of the heads). On the bright side, it lets me spend my figure money elsewhere. Like Wrestling figures.
