Am I missing something or has Lee massively slowed up? I enjoyed him in NXT and his initial stint on the main roster, but his AEW work so far has left me really underwhelmed. He seems really slow and sluggish.I know he had issues recovering from covid so maybe that's the issue.
Either I'm remembering his time in NXT as being better than it was or the dude has missed a step.

He is absolutely slower and if you look at pics from him at NXT and now he is a lot heavier.

He's 37 and looks like he's put on a decent amount of weight since the pandemic and his covid issues. I get what people see in him, but unless he cuts some weight fast, I think his window to be a major singles star is closing pretty fast.

Lee can be fat AND a champion. I don't know where everyone got this weird thing concerning Lee's physique.

Lee's "size" has never been an issue. It's always been a part of his gimmick and what made him incredible.
The problem is covid. There's already plenty of data about how the crap can wreck you long term, and we've only begun to understand all of the long term side effects.
It's unfortunate, as Lee had all of the tools to be the face of the WWE before his infection. But it's hard to say if he will ever fully recover.

Don't forget he had that heart issue as well - that's bound to slow anyone down.

Him teaming with Swerve has been awesome so far.
I think Lee's solo ceiling in AEW was always the TNT title. His current shape and condition probably wouldn't keep him from hitting that.

Poor guy really went through it. Just the fact that we still get to see him wrestle is good enough for me. Plus him and Swerve together is real fun. Hope they turn heel. Would love to see them face Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus.

Just like said above,I think his biggest issue is Covid and not his size. I'm just glad we get to see him in the ring at all,him and Swerve has been one of my favorite teams lately so no complaints from me.

Glad it's not just me that's noticed him slow up a lot. I don't think it's his size either he's always been a big fella, but it's never impacted the way he works. Hopefully the more time he spends in the ring he'll start getting back to normal.
As a fat fella myself I'm glad to have representation in Lee and Samoa Joe on the roster.
