Some people on here we're saying they were getting some of the older Target legends sets for less than 7 bucks each. Was there a clearance deal I missed or something or does anybody know how they got them for that cheap?

Was there a clearance deal I missed or something or does anybody know how they got them for that cheap? It was store by store when they did their dept reset. Some stores clearance whatever is out to make room for the new items being held for the reset. Other stores just put the older stuff where the new stuff goes. I had one store clearance them, but the other stores kept them at full price.

I personally haven’t had an issue finding the Legends, but the fact does remain that even though a store has pegs for all four or five figures in the assortment they may never actually receive the figures because their distribution center may not have received cases for all four. They may have only received cases of three of the four and never receive cases of the last figure. And there have been plenty of reports in the past where certain areas didn’t get all case packs. That has happened around here with McFarlane’s BAF waves. The two Targets closest to me here in Rockland county only received solid cases for three of the four. And two of those stores only received the Wonder Woman cases. Here was a pic of one of the stores that only got WW. They also had two pegs of just her in the aisle. But the Omega figure I didn’t find until I went back down to my childhood hometown in NJ to visit family. One of the Targets close to there had plenty of just Omega. Yes , everything needs to work right, and mattel is doing their part. What happens in your store isnt necessarily reflected everywhere else. Might just have a few bad apples who work in your store. Nothing you can do.

Is there an alleged date on these? Clearly Stacy is starting to show, so it looks like they will trickle in again. Series 14 has been out for a while now, so I assume these will be in stores in the next 2-3 weeks.

Nothing you can do. It has nothing to do with the actual store or the employees at the store. It has to do with how Target ships the cases to all their regions distribution centers. The stores can only pack out what they received from their regions distribution centers. And the distribution centers only ship what they received from Targets main hubs where Mattel ships the product to. It has to do with retailers main distribution hubs. If they don’t split the shipments correctly then there’s stores in certain areas that may never see a certain figure or two. It was the same thing with the 1/1000 title belt Mattel put with every first in the line basic figure in 2010. Because of how that main distribution center split the shipment you may not have seen every 1/1000 figure or you only saw multiples of a couple figures. By me I only saw multiples 1/1000’s of Big Show, Austin, Henry, Edge & Mickie James(?). It seemed like every Target I hit had Big Show, Austin and Edge. And every WalMart had Henry & Mickie. In theory it’s a great plan by the toy companies, but the retailer’s main distribution hubs need to get it right when splitting the shipment to go to all their regions distribution centers. Hopefully for the Legends with them now all having individual DPCI’s Target will break the shipments down correctly. But from what we have read from collectors in more rural areas there’s been some issues with how they distributed the cases.

You should have waited on Stacy…..That’s gonna be on clearance for $5.99 in a few months. Lol It's strange how we've come full circle with the female figures - they nearly all become shelf-warmers these days... I remember in the earlier years of the line, any female figure was really sought-after and cherry-picked. I do think Luna with all her unique outfits and tattoos would do ok. Do a 2pack elite with her and Bam Bam.

This concept is still better than a full case pack theres no changing my mind, we can agree to disagree on that. But on Targets part? Yeah thats soley on target not mattel. Target needs to do better. (All retail chains for that matter) We can agree on that for sure 👍

Well, not really. If you take into consideration that your average order-placer/merchandiser/whatever doesn't know the difference between a Hogan figure and a Chyna figure, you end up in situations where they order a random figure and then it sits on the shelves for months, until they clearance it off.
Can make the line look like it's a shoddy seller. I think the 'full series in a case' way works a lot better as it gives the shop a full series, and reduces the amount of the less popular characters that will be in stock. I'd rather have 12 Kanes than 12 Stacys on my shelf.
Each legend figure has their own dpci number that separates them now, compared to when target grouped all the series into one. So, its literally impossible, for an error to occur. Target has 12 Stacies, if none are sold, they only have 12 Stacies no more gets ordered. They also have 12 kanes. Well, if they sell, they will only get more kanes auto ordered from the computer system, no more stacy. Now the way you like it, if you have 12 stacies on the shelf and nothing else? Guess what? Your store isnt getting anymore full pack cases until those stacies dwindle down, and then guess what? You get more stacy because a new full casepack was ordered. Now yes mispicks happen. They happen to food too so its nothing new when it comes to figures. Ive had absolutely no issues getting what ive wanted from the legends series since the start of these new single cases, have also had a better chance at the chase figures. And to be completely honest, i have never seen a chase in store prior to this change. Its best for all imho.
I'd still disagree that it's a better way of doing things. In my way (full series to a case with the less popular characters "shorted") you'd never end up with 12 Stacy figures to begin with. Or, if you did, it'd mean you've been flogging lots of the other figures, so it'd make up for the lackluster Stacy sales, anyway.
The issue, like I say, is less about the actual distribution model, and more about the people dealing with ordering not knowing the difference between a Kane and a Stacy. In Ireland, I find Kane figures are practically impossible to find. A very popular figure, no matter the guise, in shops. Stacy will pegwarm for months if you get any more than a couple of her. Having to buy a full case in the first place is hurtful as a dozen Stacy's on the average shelf will simply sit stagnant, Whereas if you only had 4 Stacys to accompany your 12 Kanes, you'd be ultimately better off) (assuming you bought cases that had 3 kanes and 1 stacy, which is how Jakks used to do it).

That said; I do believe that this stacy figure should have been an exclusive to somewhere. I don't know who's going to be getting excited about it. Would be easy to do a 2-in-1 Stacy (tiny shorts and black bra, then throw in a soft goods Dudley shirt and a pair of camo shorts and you've got two generic looks that she's known for.. if you're generous, throw in a removable black facemask and you've got a 'close-enough' Hurricane/Rosey outfit, too).
I don't think enough people remember her wearing the suit, or are big enough everyday fans, that they'll buy it.

I'm just hoping pre-orders ship before they get some idea that the Stacy figure (which looks like her in the infamous dancing on Vince's desk to get a job segment) might be inappropriate given the current news cycle about an alleged payoff. lol
