YOLT 55 anniversary , first 007 i saw back in '88 : volcanoes , piranhas , Little Nellie.....made a big impression on me. And the wonderful music !
Gorgeous Akiko as Aki....she used to work on bus in Tokyo as a youngster. The Rocks grandfather or something fought Bond in Osatos office.....
Shimada aka Osato died that same yr & Pleasence was doing Halloween 4 that yr.....Shimada was also in Batman 60s movie as a japanese politician.
I met SPECTRE agent Helga aka Karin Dor (RIP) in Lon in '15 , she only did 1 con afaik (she sgd Action Man/german 1sh/danish movie ticket for me). Ive also got Tamba (RIP) autograph , very rare signature.
The character Osato might have been connected to yakuza , its plausible....heh

My friend's brother is a magician who did very long magic acts while the James Bond theme would play in the background.
That's why I can't stand James Bond.

the best thing about YOLT is Barrys music , the volcano set , really iconic movie posters....poster style "japanese bath" , "Little Nellie" , "Bond inside volcano".....i have the first one hanging on the wall now , a german 1st edition

I always hated James Bond. My dad used to love it.
In the end I think the only bond movie I liked was Goldeneye

I haven't watched one since Roger Moore. I would again if they would be smart enough to cast Idris Elba as Bond.

April 1st , 1963.....60 yrs ago today : DN norwegian premiere....it also premiered in various other euro countries then
US premiere was May 1963

50 anniversary LALD now , Rogers first Bond.....major milestone
I saw him in Lon '14 doing a career retrospective show & met Kotto in L.A '15

Craig was great as Bond. Martin Campbell directed my two favorite Bond movies
Goldeneye & Casino Royale.
Lots of good candidates out there...
Tom Hiddleston
Tom Hardy
Taron Egerton
Richard Madden
Any of the above would be excellent. There are one or two Irish actors that could do well in the role too IMHO.
