This guy came in with a monster push and within a few months he was ending the undefeated streak of Tatanka and main eventing PPVs against Lex Luger.
Borga injured his ankle in early 1994 and was never seen again. He was scheduled for a rematch against Tatanka at Royal Rumble which didn't happen. There was even promotion for a WrestleMania X match versus Earthquake.
Definitely a flash in the New Generation pan. Ludvig Borga was limited, but it appeared as if they definitely had big plans for him as a top heel. Not sure where he would have got in storyline wise moving forward though. That era needed more legitimate bodies on the heel side of the roster

IC ranks at best. They did tease that title change over Razor on that one Coliseum Video. No doubt great heat if they did give em a run with it.
I can see em challenging Bret for the belt on some random Raw but losing in the end.Bret has good history with bigger guys so I could see it being a good match.
I liked Borga though. Thought he played the evil foreigner to a tee. Shame his run was cut short

The character was good, he just didn’t have it in the ring.

Him beating Tatanka was his ceiling point. The fact that Tatanka's undefeated streak ended to Borga, when Borga was gone just months later irritates me still to this day. It was almost a waste of a year and a half undefeated streak to have it end to a guy who wasn't a name or force in the WWF just months later.

I don’t think he’d have been around for long anyway. At most, he’d have lost to Lex Luger at SummerSlam and possibly had a house show run with Undertaker. Between the Harts, the Kliq, the BSK etc, the upper card just didn’t have a long term spot for Borga. Look at the heels in mid-late 1994: Yokozuna, Shawn Michaels, Diesel, Bam Bam Bigelow, Crush, Owen Hart, Jeff Jarrett, Bob Backlund.

Like some have said, I'd say Borga hit his ceiling during the run he had. No way he would have likely had a very long career in the company anyway, with the type of person he was in real life, he would have likely said or done something, that would have ended with him gone from the company.

Vince loved him & many say Nash benefited huge from his injury as Borga was meant to have a ferocious dominant performance in RR94.
But then? SS tattoo. JR talks about it in his podcast...he was already unpopular backstage but that sealed it.
I always forget he was in Die Hard 3 as well 🤣🤣

He had a great look for pro wrestling but was just terrible in the ring. His evil foreigner gimmick isnt something that should be main eventing PPVs, especially when I dont recall the US and Finland hating each other. Combine all that with his backstage attitude and he wasnt going to be putting any butts in seats during the least popular era in WWF history.

His ceiling would have been a main even heel guy to job out to a USA hero like Luger...but that didn't pan out

The Wrestlemania match with Quake would have been interesting. I know Quake coming back was supposed to be important but since he lost so much on his way out a year earlier, it seemed like a demotion for Ludvig. Surely he wouldn't be squashed like Adam Bomb-Bomb was the SD Jones or Paul Roma of that wrestlemania. He could take a 30 second loss. Given Quake would be going into a feud with Yoko, I imagine it would be a double DQ/countout or the match would be cut for time.

Given Quake would be going into a feud with Yoko, I imagine it would be a double DQ/countout or the match would be cut for time. I don't think Bomb was supposed to get squashed, I think that had to do with the HBK/Razor match going way over their time. That is interesting to think about, Ludvig was paired with Yoko, so Quake going over Ludvig could have set up the feud with Yokozuna. I don't see Ludvig doing much more than the top feud with Luger. He wasn't that good in the ring, and the USA/Foreign villain thing wasn't working like it used to. I think after putting over Luger in a big match, he would have slid down the card. A number of villains at that time were created just to have a feud with one main guy then nothing else: Nailz, Giant Gonzalez, etc. I feel that after Luger beat Yokozuna for the WWF title at WM10 (which was supposed to be the original idea) that Ludvig would have been Luger's first feud as champion. I see him losing to Luger around KOTR/Summer Slam 1994 had that happened. But, Ludvig got injured before the Royal Rumble. Vince lost faith in Luger as champion, and their matches (Luger/Borga) weren't that good.

I still gotta wonder if he wouldve went over Razor at one point for the IC belt.We all know Vince LOVES the USA vs foreigner angle no matter the era.Right up his alley there.
