There have been plenty of basic figures released of wrestlers that you wished was released in Elite or Ultimate form. With the entrance gear or accessories.

The Championship Showdown Rhea wounds me as a basic. I wanted an Elite of that so much.
I second the fact that the basic Funhouse Bray should have been an elite
Thanos. Seth.
Speaking of Seth, the Elite we got was nice and all, but I really wanted the Basic MNM Seth as an Elite. Better yet, an ultimate with swappable arms so I wouldn't have to deal with a rubber coat
Sarah Logan. That one hurts.
I really wish the BP Return Shane was an Elite. Not because it needed to be but because there are not nearly enough unique suited elite bodies out there and I feel that one would have been perfect as an addition to the ranks. Imagine the custom potential if that had been an elite! *sigh* I can dream.
There's a bunch more but this is a start.

For me basic 45 Mankind should have been an elite and a UE a long time ago. How that Mankind is only in basic form, and in series 45 from so long ago, is beyond me. |

The one that comes to mind first is the Basic Sid Justice figure, I really wish this one was an elite.
Another one I like more than his elites is the Network Spotlight Sting
Warrior's basics were always the best, not sure if they are better than his Elite's/UE figures, but they're close. The World Champions (green trunks), WrestleMania Heritage (blue trunks), Kmart Exclusive (RR91 USA attire), Then/Now/Forever (orange trunks, white strapped WWF title), Then/Now/Forever 2-pack w/ Sting (white trunks, painted symbol on chest), and the Basic 98 (RR90 attire) are all great.
Other favorite Basics that are on-par with their elites:
WrestleMania Heritage Mr. Perfect (yellow singlet)
WrestleMania Heritage Macho Man (WM5 attire)
Basic Mankind (brown tights, white shirt)
Summer Slam Heritage British Bulldogs (SSL92 attire)
Basic Superstars Entrance Hulk Hogan (Hulk Rules Shirt)
Basic 95 Kurt Angle (mostly red singlet)

I really like the molded on shirts for Hogan. They look a lot better than the ones with the slit or the velcro down the front. I wouldn’t mind if they made an elite molded Hogan shirt torso.
