And that’s the issue, enjoy your modern and leave the legends to the older collectors. They get 1 per set and y’all still complain. Just because I want a E14 Cena rerelease over Faarooq Asad doesn’t mean I like modern figures and don’t like legends It’s a gimmick that lasted under 4 months. He wrestled 5 times on Raw and 4 on Superstars. It’s probably the worst version of Ron Simmons. Put that against the attire from arguably John Cena’s best match, pretty easy choice what figure I’d buy you will get that Cena rerelease eventually in the top picks lines no need to waste a main line spot for it when it can easily be thrown in to that just like the updated series 3 was

That’s a YOU problem, you’re creating these expectations in your mind that they can’t deliver. I'm fine with the waves, but the roster selection feels a bit less diverse than it used to be. I think we're seeing a knock-on effect of the NXT changeover - a lot of the most anticipated figures in the Elite waves used to be line debuts from the NXT roster (Kross's first Elite was backordered! Now the guy's a nonentity in wrestling), which is where most talent went before going to Raw or SD. There's less of an influx of new wrestlers in high demand, and meanwhile the Legends line is back, so there's usually only one Legends slot per Elite wave. So the waves are pretty heavily relying on the same core of a half-dozen or so upper card guys on the roster now. And I like those guys, but this is a line dealing with repeated, massive talent cuts and the total revamp of a popular roster niche. It's going to show in the selection.
Exactly what I was going to say. These waves are a bit of a black hole - you have a lot of wrestlers who have multiple Elites, and don't have a ton of noteworthy changes to their gimmick/appearance. That isn't necessarily a terrible thing. There's certainly an audience for Balor, Sheamus, etc. But it's totally fair if there's limited appeal for longtime collectors. It does seem a bit odd to see repeats of Big E and Lashley within a few series of each other when we haven't gotten a ring gear AJ Styles in years.

I wonder if they backed off on Styles and Finn for awhile because they really over-saturated the waves with them. It feels like we got one Finn Elite during his entire NXT return era. One of the things that might help is just doing a wider sample of the established midcard and upper-midcard guys. Like, they went ages without a Sami, and the recent one seems pretty well received. People here have been asking for new Ziggler and Roode for such a long time, and they show up in the basic line instead. And these aren't obscure low-card guys. Even Sheamus has been a little underrepresented for awhile. It feels like they cooled off a lot of people in the era when they could make first-timers every wave, but now that they have fewer debuts, you still have a lot of guys you can lean on who haven't gotten regular Elites in a long time.

Elite 98: Mandy Rose, Rick Boogs, Finn Balor, Big E, Randy Orton, Farooq. Basic 136 : Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, Bobby Roode, Goldberg,Xia Li Credit: braendel-wittig de Well, I was hoping for Elite Xia, but I will take any Xia I can.
Does Mandy's NXT look really require an Elite? It's not that elaborate.
Her newer look does imo, with a jacket and belt. But yeah the attire this one will have I could agree with them just putting her in the basic line and putting someone else in.

I think they messed up a bit there. If the Faarooq is indeed his Asad look, then that should have been thrown into the Legends line, and the Acolytes gimmick should have been an Elite. Keep the obscure bad-sellers to the more limited exclusive lines and release the more known looks on the main lines. You'd think that'd make sense.

I’d buy a “DAMN” Faarooq if they released it uncensored.

Also, Acolytes are just as obscure. APA is what they’re famous for.

Not sure what id be hoping for in their places but the upcoming elite series after 95 sound rather boring. That’s a YOU problem, you’re creating these expectations in your mind that they can’t deliver. What expectations do they have if they’re not sure what they would be hoping for instead?

Wait, I have subconsious expectations that my mind isnt telling me about? And of all the things to hide from me, its my deepest darkest insecurities on a WWE Mattel toy line?

And I find it weird you remember how many times he wrestle wearing what 30 or so years ago. I don’t even know what I wore yesterday and you bringing out what a random man wore 30+ years ago, how long he wore and everything. Jeez

repaints upon repaints. Wish we'd get an updated Austin Theory with a new head scan. The current one is so huge it’s unreal

Surprised Cody is coming so soon, wonder if it’ll be a repeat of an old mold or a completely new one. Elite 98 looks fine I guess, hopefully Bálor is his blue Prince attire and not another boring black one.

I refuse to believe I’m the only one who thinks a lot of the recent Elite Lineups have been mad rough. Like have the releases hit them that bad? I agree, it’s been a bit mid because of the releases but also the company seems to be in a transitional period where they’re trying to set up the next generation of talent while also focusing on a few current guys at the same time.

The elite series late last year and early this year were brilliant and I bought them all.
Then the cursed Elite 92 hit where I wanted none. Then Elite 93 hit and I wanted none - two very weak line ups full of released talent or re paints.
Due to shipping issues it seems an age between 93 and the decent 94 so I haven't bought an Elite figure in nearly 6 months.
I think there needs to be a re think on line ups and who they include. We have had so many Ortons and Reys this year; give them a rest please!
Why not an Elite series featuring never released current roster? Bron, Boogs, Nikki ASH or Xia, new look Cody, Happy Corbin, Madcap Moss would have been a much stronger line up instead of mooooreee Ortons or Balors.
