I know a small group has been wanting Hercules for a while and I hope they someday get it, but I don’t see it happening soon. Acting like Mattel is going downhill because of it is off the mark though. Something like another Cena repaint is going to sell more units overall than a FTIL Hercules would. So it’s not like it’s hurting the company. That’s ignoring the fact that it’s on WWE, not Mattel, to have Hercules signed. I want a Dan Severn but I’m not going to put the energy into getting upset because they are never going to make him. And I’m definitely not going to get upset when they make more figures of guys that are going to sell. I will for Ultimates, but that’s because they have plenty of guys and girls that sell that could be used in the line. If it’s the hill you want to die on, because I really seems like some people here just collect to complain, maybe just stop supporting the product and find a new thing to collect? Hobbies are supposed to be fun. Between that terrible Jimmy Uso Elite 95 mistake and those awful looking Bret Hart Elite 94 face scans im considering just collecting Sylvester Stallone 1/6 figures. Those Bret Hart facescans are getting worse and worse and worse. No one can tell me that the Bret Hart E94 isn't worse than the Bret Hart Survivor Series elite. Why do repaints of something when they haven't got it to an acclaimed standard yet. It's not worth complaining much about but they are asking people to splash out $25 for these.

Well personally, I'd say the Survivor Series Bret is the worst head/likeness. I don't have the E94 Bret in-hand yet, but from YouTube reviews it actually looks decent (not great - but... decent).

wholefnshow420 how long have you and others been making it crystal clear with your long wish list of wrestlers you want figures of ? Well i am 99% sure mattel will not make most of those. But now we have real hope because of these 2 new toy companies i mentioned before actually making figures of past legends. There was another dude on this forum that had a picture on his profile of past world champions with red X marks on them when mattel finally made them. I think at least 2 of them from his wishlist are gonna get made now from this new toy company. Wishlists >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> seeing you whine and complain about (almost) everything.

Does it even matter anymore ? Mattel is really becoming irreverent when it comes to old school legends figures. We got these other companies that are literally picking up the ball that mattel has been fumbling for years. So now we got a new company making Lout Thesz, Magnum TA, Stan Hansen, Ted DiBiase, Kerry Von Erich, and Verne Gagne figures. We got another one company making figures of a bunch of others mattel has never made before that i can't even list all of them off. People been asking mattel for years to make a figure of (insert name here) and nothing happens. Mattel is old and slow and probably won't be around in 10-20 years. These new companies are cutting through that "they have to be a wwe legends deal before we can make a figure of them bull" and just making deals with people to get figures made and i love it. Mattel WWE is still primarily a children's toyline. If they made Lou Thesz or Stan Hansen figures for mass retail in today's environment, they wont be around in 10-20 months. This is the elephant in the room Even when you look at what legends they have done generally they are either mass appeal (savage, warrior, hulk etc) or very toyetic (barbarian, bezerker etc) On the whole the sorts of legends people want will be suited to either ringside exclusives or another avenue Mattel is the wwe primary partner but they don’t (to the best of my knowledge) have exclusivity on all figures and figure types - the Bandai figuarts figures are an example where another company can get in on a figure size / style mattel are not interested in snd potentially get out legends not suitable for retail Matty collector (I know the issues people had with the wwe line) motu classics being a perfect example of where mattel could do these legends but yeah, people do need to remember mattel are a retail toy company A good example is aew too - they have a luminaries line and haven’t gone and done arn and Tully like people asked for - they’ve done sting etc who is still active snd more toyetic .

How about Mattel does crowd funding for rare obscure figures and if it reaches the goal then Mattel pays the talent or estate royalties. This would get them away from relying on WWE to put them under a legends deal.
We want Hercules & Jeff Jarrett so figure out how many figures we need to crowd fund to make it possible.

Unfortunately, I don't think WWE would agree to that... it seems any talent/figure HAS to be under contract.

Jesse Ventura! This would be an instant buy. Not sure why he is so untouchable and never talked about? He was so huge in the 80's

The rumor is that next year we will see some FTIL figures from the Golden Era. If you could pick 5 realistic options from the 84 to 90 WWF who would you pick?? When I say realistic I mean someone that would be possible, someone like Dynamite Kid would not be possible in my opinion. My buddy from the toy shop keeps saying that Hercules is coming so he is my main prediction. Does it even matter anymore ? Mattel is really becoming irreverent when it comes to old school legends figures. We got these other companies that are literally picking up the ball that mattel has been fumbling for years. You do realize that mattel can request any/all these talent to WWE but it’s up to WWE to sign them to a legends deal that includes merchandise I.e. action figures…

@thehardyparty
Yes i know that, but look at wwe/mattel line. How many new "legends" have come out year after year ?
The answer is not that many and will continue that way until mattel loses the license.
So now we have actual competition with 2 companies for sure and maybe more if aew does its own legends line.
I dont expect mattel to make more than 1-2 new legends every year.
I look at greg valentine and in his own interviews he wanted a figure made and did not why it did not happen. Then finally one was made after waiting years and he was under a legends deal the whole time. This is wwe/mattel in a nutshell.

His son said they were so excited when Chella or one of the other toy companies approached them about making a figure of there dad. It could have been WWE / Mattel getting a badass elite of Booger…..But no one at WWE/Mattel cared enough to approach them first.

If there’s ever a time for another Harley Race figure, we need an NWA red and blue attire.
