Most of them don't do it for us, they do it for them. It gets these influencers freebies and it gets the random posters likes and validity. End of discussion..... No one is doing this that isnt passionate about the hobby. It takes a lot of time and commitment to film and edit those videos and build a following. If they happen to get some free toys sent to them for their hard work and dedication then good for them. |

Bro I said it on the other thread 2 times. Mattel wanted this to sell out quick. They’re only looking to create buzz and hype around the WWE line with the SDCC exclusives. They don’t care about making money on these. They created buzz by announcing it, they created buzz by sending it to influencers and they created buzz by it selling out quick. Also, you don’t get people to stop talking about something by saying “end of discussion…” |

Ok well my stance on this has changed after reading the replies. The title was - I don't understand it, but I understand it a bit more now. Yes it is helpful to find out when and where the pre orders are, but honestly I hate it when it's just randomly posted on someones random Instagram story or on their Twitter, just reacting to it. I don't see why it's necessary. It isn't really helping is it. For example after this No Holds Barred pre order was announced....people instantly reacted to it and made their own post of it on their Twitter or IG story with reactions like "it's great"...."it looks perfect." I don't understand why. It's not helpful at all in this context is it?? It's just getting unnecessary attention from people who wouldn't have been normally interested in it. That's my point. That's literally the entire reason SDCC Exclusives exist in general, and specifically why Mattel's WWE SDCC Exclusives are now tied to recognizable niche pop culture things (Slim Jim, Mr. T, Sarge in GI Joe, No Holds Barred) that go beyond wrestling. Their entire point is to garner attention from those who wouldn't normally be interested as promotion for Mattel's WWE line and SDCC setup/panel/etc. |

No offense, but would you have made this thread if you would of gotten a set yourself? I personally don’t follow any of these “influencers” on social media because they do not appeal to me. However, I use this forum and it’s helped me with figure news/making friends/debating etc. I assume it’s the same for people on other platforms. These exclusives are just that limited edition exclusives. It’s like anything else in life, you win some and you lose some. If Mattel made this set in abundance, I guarantee you it would of not sold out. More or less, it would of resulted in not getting an exclusive next year. The hype is where it’s at because not only does it help move the product, but it creates the FOMO for any other exclusive. If you thought this was bad, imagine waking up at 9/10am and trying to get a pair of shoes on the Nike app. Nearly impossible with bots etc… immediately sold out in seconds. If you want the set this badly, find someone on the forums who’s willing to trade or has an extra.

The concept of "don't promote the exclusive so less people will be trying to buy it" reeks of the same energy as the guy who posted "Target should put the Legends with the other collectibles so kids and parents won't buy them, leaving more for "real collectors".
Something like entitlement.

I get all my news on figures from here & Figure News website.
I don’t care that “Blank” posters are blowing up the preorders with postings. What if you found out about some figure news you’d keep it to yourself?
Besides Preorders from RSC, all others have always been crap. So it’s either wait it out or pay eBay prices if you got to have it now.

Are you saying only people who are on here are true collectors and deserve certain figures?
Those "influencers" do help people like to make more informed desicions in choosing which figures they are getting.
