With the inevitable migration over to Ultimates, would you like Legends to end at Series 20 and in its place have 3 Target exclusive Legends Series Ultimate Editions instead of the current one per wave offering.

Mattel seems to be struggling to fill the lines already. Having something like six to eight Ultimates a year instead of twelve to sixteen Elites would be preferable, in my opinion. I know most here prefer to have as many different versions and looks as possible but I think the higher quality trade off would be worth it if that was a change they were going to do.

I feel like the new coliseum collection could make Mattel rethink Legends. The Coliseum collection in many ways is like the OG legends on cardbacks. Theyโre a lot more desirable from a collectors point of view and will hopefully be available to everyone unlike Legends.
Anyway, back to the question, I would fully support the change to Ultimate Editions instead of the elites we get now. Even if we got two figures per wave like the main line. One figure per wave currently seems a shame.

No, I would not like that.

Hell no.
More obscure names wouldn't be able to get Target exclusive Ultimates.

I feel like there are obscure people we are getting in the Legends line that wouldn't survive on a bigger production scale as a regular elite line flashback, or warrant a spot in a UE set. Like Hurricane -- it was a cool figure but by no means would make sense as a UE. I'm also unsure if that figure would've done well in a regular elite set.
But I do feel like we need to step up the Legends line. I think they have a lot of people to choose from and Mattel picks some pretty lame picks. Bob Orton and ANOTHER Jake Roberts, when there's tons of characters/attires to still make or that are due for a rerelease:
Jeans DDP WM3 Andre Black hair Valentine 2002 mullet Eddie Any RVD Jim Neidhart New Gen Bulldog WWF Lex Luger ECW Dusty Rhodes Rated R Superstar Edge Suited Brisco Suited Pat Patterson Gene Okerlund 2000 Booker T 2002 Undisputed Champion Hogan Hillbilly Jim Howard Finkel Jacqueline Jeff Jarrett Silver top Diesel 2004-2006 Lita Dude Love White top/brown pants Mankind Mr. Fuji Paul Bearer New Generation/WCW Roddy Piper Steiners Terry Funk Great Khali (!!) Teddy Long
Just a random list of guys who could fit into the Legends line who don't yet have a figure or could use an updated one. Maybe some aren't on deals, whatever. That's not the point.

I love how people continue to act like the line is failing because they donโt understand how clearance works and think that they are struggling to find names in the line. Using repaints of past gear of big names like Mysterio, HBK, DX, and Hall and Nash are always going to sell better than first time in the line midcarders from the 80s that todays average fan/toy buyer isnโt going to recognize.
And yes I recognize the irony considering I complain about too many Hogans and Warriors in the Ultimate line. I realize they sell, I just think they are jabronis.

This is just complete crazy talk. Itโs our number 3 line. Itโs not going anywhere. It's hilarious when Steve pops in on a random thread thats not the Q&A thread. It's like when kids in school are talking in the lunchroom and the teacher chimes in. So glad to hear about no end in sight for Legends. Such a great line. ๐

I'm sorry but no.
I think the way the UE line is structured right now is fine. I just wish a retailer in Canada would carry the damn line again.

The "start again" mentality? no thanks I'd rather build on my existing collection, you know the one i've already spent thousands on.
Plus I want new legends, more obscure names and a deeper roster, not just the a-listers over and over again, who have already had loads of figures.

I'm also going with no on this one.
I love Ultimates, but I don't want to see them doubling the amount of Ultimate's we are getting in a calendar year. Keep the legends coming in elite form and do Ultimates of the bigger names. I don't think we need Ultimates of everyone either. Some characters don't fit the mold with numerous heads, accessories either.

Target legends is about 70% of my business to Mattel.
If that ends so does most of my collecting.
