Hi just going through my Undertakers and realise 1997 is the only era really left since we are getting the new 92/93 era Taker coming. What do you use for this Taker how close is his attire compared to the UE?

I used defining moments bat taker with elite 23 headswap and for mania 13 look used elite 23/lost legends with the purple gloves/boot covers switched out to grey and the head from the bat dm both versions work perfectly fine for 97

From early 1997, Taker was already in the look that he’d use through 1998, the look that the Ultimate Edition figure represents. For the first month or two of 1997, he wore a plainer prototype version of that outfit.
If I was determined to have a 1997 Undertaker, I’d probably go with:
Championship Showdown Undertaker figure (from the recent two-pack with Bret Hart)
Sleeveless BDSM robe thing from the Greatest Hits or Elite 8 Undertaker
Classic “Winged eagle” WWE Championship
And then something to approximate the cowboy hat he wore on Raw the night after WrestleMania 13, and I don’t remember ever seeing again on TV but it was on a few posters and promo shots. I don’t know what hat would work best though, probably the one that came with JR, but that was a long time ago so I’d maybe repaint the Cameron Grimes one.

Defining Moments Bat Undertaker. Still waiting an elite WM 14 Undertaker. I don’t like Ultimates much. But luckily, Ultimates and Elites have the same legs, so maybe Mattel will make an Elite version. They already have an Elite ‘98 torso. And the upcoming Championship Showdown Taker has a tear drop.

I use the UE for the late 90's Taker. I just want Mattel to give us a couple of different heads for '98-'99 Taker. The entrance head from the UE left a lot to be desired. I really wish we could of gotten two sculpts for that hairstyle. I love the long haired look, but when you it pair without the gear it doesn't work. It's how I remember The Undertaker from that time period. Another Ministry Taker is welcomed too. I prefer the pale skin tone for all the Takers from that era too.

UE Taker fills the gap for 97-98 for me. Barring special appearances (WM 13) he basically wore that attire through those two years. Maybe use the E8/Greatest Hits cloak too

I used the Network Spotlight Undertaker with a repainted Jakks head.
I would say the Ultimate Edition is what he wore in late '97 with his tights & shirt.

SVS 96 defining moments with bat wings and wristbands is close to perfect for early 97 Undertaker. I do have it MOC but I'm surprised Mattel haven't re-released that Undertaker yet considering it has unique molds only used for that figure once.

I think SummerSlam 97 Taker would be the best option. Early 97 grey gloves Taker just isn't fitting to the era IMO. Kind of odd to see him wearing it at that time. I guess the UE Taker is the closest thing we have but its not accurate to the mid-late 97 look much.
1997 Undertaker is probably my favorite look that Taker ever had so I'd really love if they made that look.
If the next crowdfund truly is a HIAC, they could make Badd Blood 1997 Taker as a tier incentive.
