As per the question, how do you detach the ring posts. I tired but did not succeed, and I don't wanna risk breaking it. I need to do so becasue I need to lower the thing for it to keep in in storage. Currently i just detach the 30 support posts.

It's probably not a good idea to do so, you may get lucky but I wouldn't. My ring post came broken in box, that's how cheap the material is.
I would just take apart the blue steal ring parts and lie them down accordingly.

I havenโt done it yet, but I image you could gently squeeze the clips from underneath with a pair of needle nose pliers to release them. That or heating that area might allow them to pop out.

The minute I put it together I thought "I'm never taking this apart." The material its made out of and how tightly the pieces lock into each other, I just think it seems really easy to break if you try to disassemble it.

Is it possible to put the older WCT posts on this ring? I heard people say the ringposts were out of scale? Can anyone confirm?

Is it possible to put the older WCT posts on this ring? I heard people say the ringposts were out of scale? Can anyone confirm? This ring and the Mattel Elite Scale Ring from 2011 have the same exact posts (the silver ones) it seems. The WCT Authentic Scale Ring uses a modified ESR base and modified ESR posts. Now here is where it gets tricky. Mattel made the ESR. Wicked Cool Toys made the ASR. ASR posts fit in an ESR base, but ESR posts do not fit in an ASR base. This is because ESR posts are round all the way around and the ESR base is round all the way around the hole that the post fits inside. The ASR base, inside that hole there is a line of plastic that sticks out and fits inside a divot on the ASR post to help lock it in place so it canโt spin around. So, in theory, ASR posts should fit on the New Gen ring just fine because the hole seems identical to the ESR hole. However, I would not push the post all the way in if I were you because I canโt get my New Gen posts out. On my ESR/ASR, I just leave the posts loose in their holes. The posts go deep enough that the ropes never pull them out of place and I can just pop the posts off real fast to change ring skirts without any fear of breaking them by tugging too hard.

I'm kind of torn because I have the ASR and just got this set, but not sure which ring I want to get rid of. My ASR is converted into a Nitro ring, but so far the New Gen ring doesn't allow that.

I'd be pretty bummed if there were no way to disassemble the ring. I put it together with the intention of eventually disassembling in the interest of space or if I wanted to sell it. Odd design choice to make it permanent.

Canโt imagine it being permanent, considering the interchangeable ring skirts. I do understand peoples hesitation though. Donโt want to break a post and not be able to replace it.

I'm having the same issue with the entrance. I put one of the stands on to take a few pictures so it wouldn't fall over. I wanted to put it back in the box until I have time to set the whole thing up. Now the peg is stuck and when I pull on it it flexes the back plastic of the stage. It seems very flimsy like it wants to break. Didn't want to mess up the wiring or connections inside so I gave up and just stuck it in a closet.

Try putting the posts in, but not snapping them into place. Thatโs what I do with all my ASRs and it works for me. I havenโt done it with the New Gen ring, though. It didnโt occur to me at the time and now I canโt remove the New Gen posts.

What berealnicknaro said using needle-nose pliers to pinch the bottom clip of the post under the ring, to pull the post out is best. I literally did that just last night, to remove the New Gen ringskirts and replace them with plain blue ringskirts I just got from naparo01. =D mikew, regarding the bases on the back of the entrance stage... yeahhh, that's another story. I put one of the bases in, when I first got it, and realized it was not removable. Come to find out, the instructions clearly say it is a "one-time assembly," much like the crane on the Wrekkin' Rig. Just like the Rig, I had to unscrew the back of the Entrance Stage, just enough to pop a flathead screwdriver on the tab that holds the base to the stage. Got the base off, and threw it back in the box, never to put on the stage again. 'cause those bases attached to the stage doesn't fit cleanly in the box. =\

But couldโve been worse. Iโm never popping those stand up pieces in again And I agree with the heat and needle nose pliers method to remove the ring posts. Other wise you will risk breaking the tabs or massively stressing them

Btw based on the design of the thing, Mattel intended the ring skirts to be changed by unhooking all the ropes and pulling the ring skirts down over the top of the posts. The posts were not designed to be popped in and out easily if at all. And itโs a bummer because itโs 2022 and weโre still using ring post technology from 40 yrs ago.
Itโs very cool mdt designed a ring that can break down in parts but why the hell didnโt they go all the way and make ringposts that donโt suck when you plug them in and out

Make sure you guys are sliding the ropes through the turnbuckles after hooking them to the posts. This allows equal slack on all 4 sides and limits strain on the posts, making them less likely to snap. It also helps prevent them from stretching out faster over time due to increased tension on one or two sides.
