Pick one pigment and stick with it for every version of the same character. Please. That is all.

Other than all of Series 1 wrestlers skin tones being changed because they were too pale I haven’t noticed anyone else’s skin tones changing between figure. Maybe Hagman’s did with the 2-Pack compared to his singles releases. But who else’s is different from what heir previous releases?

I wanna say MJF has an ever revolving skin tone change with each figure. I know there's a difference between the first MJF and the later ones.

I think this is where bigger companies like Mattel who own their own factories really have an advantage. More control over the process, presumably more consistency.

Unless you're a customizer, why would you care?

Unless you're a customizer, why would you care? I understand it to a point, even though I'm not a customizer. It's really easy to swap parts on these. In some cases (my U4 Kenny from the waist up on the U1 Kenny legs) it doesn't matter, but I'd have definitely bought more duplicate characters than I already have to share parts and such, but the skin tone does kinda get in the way of that, at least to a small extent.

They were good for Unrivaled 2-4 and then they f’d them all up and made them look like grayish zombies. And they’re fixing some of them so they aren’t that ugly grayish color but they’re still not keeping them consistent. Why would they make the new Sammy Guevara different when the two were fine

Unless you're a customizer, why would you care? Everyone was saying “I will put the UM5 Sammy heads on the Target figure because I don’t like the head with the tongue out”, well now you can’t unless you’re fine with the head being a different color from the rest of his body

Unless you're a customizer, why would you care? These figures are designed for parts swapping, especially when dealing with subpar prior head scans of guys. I was hoping to use one of the two new Sammy heads to put on his original figure, but the skin tone is darker. The head swapping really came in handy for Hager’s first figure, too.

Agree with this! While I understand they had some bad dead/zombie looking skin tones for a while there after series 2 or 3 and are trying to make up for that, some of the newer figures are too tan compared to the real people.

What I find frustrating is situations like Brian Cage. His figure is way too pale and needs chest hair (which is a bigger, separate gripe). But because its his first and possibly last for a long time, I feel inclined to buy it. Now say he ends up getting utilized more, or Jazwares decides they want to do a string of Ring of Honor figures and he gets a new one with his proper tan and chest hair but they give him a single mohawk head. I can't just use one of his existing heads to give him the look I'd prefer. Its a lose/lose scenario. This is just an issue that's going to still felt for a while as the line grows, and there's going to be people who fall through the cracks.
Hell, Mattel seems to be inconsistent on Hogan's tan, and they've made like 20 in the past two years.

Unless you're a customizer, why would you care? I line my figs up in chronological order for display. It looks silly when the same people are different tones and heights

If you're dealing with AEW figures, anyone can be a customizer. They basically pop apart like Legos, and doing part swaps is basically a play feature.

The fact these figures come apart almost entirely is a huge selling point for them. It’s easier to fix mistakes than with WWE. Or to just change the head sculpts (I can have Kenny Omegas with 2019 babyface hair and 2021 heel hair). So the fact that every figure ends up with a random pigment is very annoying. Just asking for consistency. If they were smart they would realize people may buy extras for parts if they can actually use them

It doesn’t make sense how these figures were so good and then *fart noise* starting with Unrivaled 5

Did Jeremy stop pretending to care and suddenly everything went to hell? It doesn’t make sense how these figures were so good and then *fart noise* starting with Unrivaled 5 I don't think it's a coincidence that Unrivaled 5 is also where the set went from "if I get lucky, I might find these in store" to "Frankie Kazarian is still at my Target." It feels like a monkey's paw situation. Distribution increased with Target and Amazon, which probably meant they needed to find a bigger or multiple factories faster than expected. QC/skin tone issues became more common. But then AEW broke out and got a bunch of big name talent. Now you're showing off Owen Hart, CM Punk, Danielson, etc. Jeremy doesn't have to go on twitter and explain the skintone issues and give the behind the scenes details like he did during wave 1. You're an enfranchised product and now they have big name stars who will be attractive to collectors and retailers. The first waves were great - cool, but not pointless accessories, amazing clothgoods. They legitimately felt like a step up from what Mattel was putting out. Now the figures are $24 at my Target, even more than Elites, and the quality feels like it's gone the wrong direction.
