After the signings of WrestleMania weekend, WrestleCon was giving away boxes and boxes of The Fiend elites and RSC exclusive for free in the hotel because there was such a surplus of them. I also don’t know if there was an issue, but they were very adamant not to ask Bray to sign them in the lobby. This could be just general WrestleCon practice not to ask wrestlers to sign in the lobby, but it felt like a directive thing. Almost makes me feel stupid for rushing in and paying £20 as soon as it was available out of hesitancy that they would instantly sell out

I remember someone posting a picture of like 100 Fiend figures claiming they were all sold

the ringside sales actually have me re-strategizing for next year. 90% of the figures i bought this year via amazon, entertainmentearth, etc are now less than retail in this sale on ringside.

This has me excited for the Xmas sales. I’m making a list.. Same here. The question is how long do I hold off? Last year felt like RSC did like 4 waves of Black Friday sales. I picked up a $4 Io Elite just for the hell of it.

I bought a Fiend last sale when he was $5 so I could get the lantern. I only had the Ultimate of him but really wanted the lantern to go with it. Really couldn't believe the price. They must have a ton. Definitely being off tv and being in so many sets within close proximity of each other are major factors. Even with his popularity, I found it wild he got a second Ultimate. I did the same thing!

It's crazy because I just checked his latest UE and thought it would be going for decent money. I'm hoping it hits $5 so I could buy one. I was personally not a fan of how Mattel execute him. It took them like 5 elite Fiends to just get the color of his pants right, they never bothered to mold his belt and to top it off he had some funky proportions going on. Boots/lower legs were way too stumpy in comparison with his baboon arms. I'm hoping Mattel fixes him up whenever he returns.

Maybe if the rumors of his return are true his figures will pick up in popularity This is always a possibility. The Io Shirai figure was one of the cheapest elites on the site for a year and still never sold. Now they've raised it back to full price. Not sure if anyone is buying it, but they jacked the price the moment she showed up with Bayley and Dakota. That said, if Bray shows up in a new gimmick again, I can't imagine it will help clear out the old Fiend figures much at all. All that said, my brain is looking at how they released the exact same Brock figure in every format and wondering if they're gonna do it all over again. I really hope they don't feel the need to shove that Brock in the next two years worth of Top whatever lines.

For a guy who is frequently main eventing shows and world champion, Brock Lesnar doesn't seem to get too many figures but then I realize he is almost never on TV.

His figures never stick around too long either. He has had the same basic look for around 10 years (pre-ponytail) and out of all of those nearly identical figures, none of them were big shelfwarmers.

Steve said this figure over-performed their very high expectations -- so it must have done well

They made two ultimates why would you want that elite except to have the lantern?

Would Goldberg, Ultimate Warrior, Undertaker, Kane, Sid Vicious, etc, all become as huge as they did if they lost almost every PPV match and feud? Kane is a poor example to use here, because he did lose all the time. He lost to Undertaker at WrestleMania 14 and the inferno match the next month, he won the WWE title from Austin unconvincingly because Undertaker helped him, he lost the title back to Austin by pinfall the next night. Within two years of his debut, he’d lost to The Rock, Triple H, the Acolytes, Big Show, and probably a bunch more I’m forgetting. Similar to Bray Wyatt, Kane’s character (for the first few years) was never really about winning or losing wrestling matches. That puts a limit on how far they can go - they’re difficult to main event a WrestleMania with. When their character is so far from caring about winning and losing, they can’t do the “I need to beat you, Rock” promo. With characters like that, they’re never going to be the main character on the show. So they’ll always suffer some losses to the main characters. Anyway, regarding the figure, I think it’s: Too many produced in short succession with only minor differences. Disappearance from the show by the time a lot of these figures came out. Also, I don’t think Mattel have done a great Bray Wyatt figure. From his very first figures, the bodies they’ve used always look weird. I think the best is probably the first basic Funhouse Bray.
