Gonna go with IYH. Taker/Austin had their best match together here IMO and Vader/Shamrock is a gem. They beat the sh** outta each other

Hmm I guess I am a little confused. Are we doing this based on hindsight or just based on the cards? I thought the original thread said something about just basing it on the cards (and assumed that meant without the benefit of hindsight), but maybe I misunderstood what was meant there?

I watched both these PPV's live when they happened and I found I enjoyed the WWF one more. Just because the Hart Foundation were at ringside for the main event and you just weren't sure what was going to go down.
The WCW PPV's now started to just feel like 3 hour episodes of WCW Nitro more so than anything special.
So I gotta pick the WWF on this one!

I would like this clarified as well please. Based on the cards I would pick WCW for May.

Out of both cards at the time, Undertaker vs Austin was the only thing that really appealed to me, mainly because of the Austin vs Hart Foundation stuff that we had going on at the time.
WWF gets my vote

WWF. Austin v Taker wins the day.
And if I remember rightly was a hell of a match.
Edit: I take in to account I’m WWF biased but the only matches that appealed to me from WCW was the Meng, Misterio, Malenko and Regal matches. I’ve reviewed on what I would have thought at the time and even putting my bias aside, Austin v Taker outweighs the WCW matches. In fairness I had no real interest in the gauntlet match and Helmsley v Funk could have opened Raw.

The real thing I remember too in that WWF Title match was Vince was still trying to seem to make Austin a heel. Fans already chose Steve as THE guy they want to cheer on, and Vince kept putting Austin against baby face wrestlers here. He had him wrestle HBK at the next event and still tried to heel Austin with that spot where that special needs boy was at ringside. Fans didn't care, they wanted to cheer on Stone Cold!

For me this was Slamboree. I had no interest in seeing Taker vs Austin at all. It was all about Austin vs the Harts for me so this was a WCW win. I love Vader vs Shamrock now...but back then it was a nothing match to me.
Also this is is meant to be based on what we would have chosen at the time IIRC...

Can't pick on this one since IYH is the only one I've seen between the two.

Can't pick on this one since IYH is the only one I've seen between the two. That doesn't matter, you're choosing based on the cards and not the actual events.

IYH definitely then.

Why are we doing what you would have watched instead of ya know….what we actually watched?

Why are we doing what you would have watched instead of ya know….what we actually watched? Not everyone was able to watch monthly ppv's so it's fun to see if you had the chance just looking at the card which one you would choose
