We're overdue for a new Mr. Perfect.
Marvel Legends does a lot of effects now with their alternate hands. If a character shoots lightning, they mold the hand in translucent plastic with lightning coming out of their fingers, and then just paint the actual hand flesh tone. Look at the Giant Size X-Men Storm for an example of what I'm talking about.
I think a Mr. Perfect gum slapping hand could be done like this. Mold the entire piece in clear plastic and paint the hand flesh. The open hand is slapping the gum, a clear swoosh/trail effect can extend 2 inches off the hand, then just paint a little glob of pink plastic at the end to represent the chewing gum.
It would look awesome and be incredible for figure photography.
