Hi!!! A few technical questions.
1) I have this "authentic scale" ring with the Summerslam and Royal Rumble skirts and the steel cage. I might just be auditorily sensitive but I hated the sound that the characters would make when landing on the ring. I wrestled with them as if they're in a match since, to me, pro wrestling doesn't make since unless you accept the notion that Aristotelian Physics explains the universe. Same with contact. They touch but they aren't trying to hurt anyone unless it's brute like Rick Steiner. I had to put a foam under the ring to absorb the bumps.
With the New Generation ring, since it looks like wood is beneath it, how's the absorption from the bumps? Is it a loud, obnoxious thud? Does the wood give it a present but gentle bounce? I looked at many videos and have not seen it.
2. Under what part of the package are the commentary table, cloth, and chairs? The ring itself? The entrance stage? With the Macho Man? It's a beautiful table.
I remember getting the authentic scale ring last time. It looked so similar to the Jakks model that I had no clue for what to look. Then I got that cage box, suddenly realizing that there was no ring inside, which made no sense to me. Then it was hard to get an 80s mat. I found all of time but it was quite a process
Thank you so much!

The New Gen ring isn’t wood. It’s 3 pieces of plastic sculpted to look like wood. They sit on top of the plastic ring scaffolding that makes up the edge with just a few posts underneath the “wooden” boards to provide support. Because the ring’s center is made up of 3 separate pieces, it creates a little more give than the Authentic Scale Ring you have does. It’s somewhere between the Authentic Scale Ring (ASR) and the basic spring-loaded mat rings, but without an actual spring-loaded mat. The sound isn’t the loud thud that the ASR gives, but the New Gen’s mat is much thinner. I still put thin foam sheets under the mat to dampen the sound.
The announce table comes with the Macho Man. It’s inside Macho Man’s box behind the cardboard insert. It’s just the usual brown Mattel breakable table with a blue silk-like cover, two blue chairs, and two of the monitors that come with the modern announce tables. If you didn’t want to shell out the money for the Macho Man, you could sew your own cover to throw over a table yourself. That’s what I plan on doing. I have the Macho Man announcers set, but the fabric cover curls pretty badly on the bottom, so I’m just going to make my own cover and sew the bottom so that it hangs flat. Every picture I’ve found of the real announce table during the 90s had a black cloth anyway.

It's more aesthetically pleasing to me. I couldn't see the table inside the Savage package. And "plastic sculpted as wood" is a great way to describe what I saw in the pictures. Your description helps a lot. I started this collection 6 months ago. Mattel is by far the most complicated line I ever encountered: Basic, Elite, Ultimate Edition (which I thought was an Elite for 6 months with a pageantry flair added). I made a lot of purchasing mistakes earlier on account of getting subsets confused. I'm going to sell a lot of the surplus because of that. This says me a lot of research time

I try not to drop my figures, but if you drop something in the ring (or just tap your hand on the mat), it's a plastic-y, clattery sound.
