A win for WCW in December 8-2 but WWF wins for 1997 7-4-1 Again,, if you are new, you are NOT picking which PPV ended up best. You are picking on which PPV you would have picked based on the card if you only could have watched one. Price doesn't matter none of that. You can either pick the WWF card or WCW card, which one ya got January WCW Souled Out 1 Juventud Guerrera, Super Caló, Lizmark Jr. and Chavo Guerrero Jr. vs La Parka, Psychosis, Silver King and El Dandy Eight-man tag team match 09:30 2 Chris Benoit vs Raven by submission Raven's Rules Match 10:36 3 Chris Jericho va Rey Misterio Jr. (c) Singles match for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship 08:22 4 Booker T (c) va Rick Martel Singles match for the WCW World Television Championship 10:50 5 Larry Zbyszko (with Dusty Rhodes) vs Scott Hall (with Louie Spicolli) Singles match 08:09 6 Ray Traylor and The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner) (with Ted DiBiase) vs The nWo (Konnan, Scott Norton and Buff Bagwell) (with Vincent) Six-man tag team match 12:20 7 Kevin Nash (with Hollywood Hogan and Eric Bischoff) vs The Giant Singles match 10:47 8 Bret Hart dvs Ric Flair Singles match 18:06 9 Lex Luger vs Randy Savage (with Miss Elizabeth) Singles match
WWF ROYAL RUMBLE 1 Vader vs The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust (with Luna) Singles match 7:51 2 Max Mini, Mosaic and Nova vs Battalion, El Torito and Tarantula Six-man tag team match with Sunny as special guest referee 7:48 3 The Rock (c) vs Ken Shamrock Singles match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship 10:53 4 The Legion of Doom (Animal and Hawk) vs The New Age Outlaws (Billy Gunn and Road Dogg) (c) Tag team match for the WWF Tag Team Championship 7:56 5 30-man Royal Rumble match for a WWF Championship match at WrestleMania XIV 55:25 6 Shawn Michaels (c) (with Chyna and Triple H) vs The Undertaker Casket match for the WWF Championship

For WCW, I see the following matches that interest me: - Juventud Guerrera, Super Caló, Lizmark Jr., and Chavo Guerrero Jr. vs La Parka, Psychosis, Silver King, and El Dandy
- Chris Jericho va Rey Misterio Jr.
- Kevin Nash vs The Giant
- Bret Hart vs Ric Flair
- Lex Luger vs Randy Savage
For WWF, I see the following matches that interest me: - Vader vs The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust
- Max Mini, Mosaic, and Nova vs Battalion, El Torito, and Tarantula
- The Rock vs Ken Shamrock
- The Legion of Doom vs The New Age Outlaws
- 30-man Royal Rumble match
- Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker
WCW would win here for me since generally, I am more interested in those matches than the matches on the WWF card. With that being said, the excitement going into the Royal Rumble match means that WWF wins for me here by a hair.

This PPV was also the start of the Mike Tyson angle.

Rumble. I was all in on Austin & Vince not wanting him to win. I was gasping for this.
Souled out wasnt even on my radar.

Royal Rumble is always going to win for me, but I was really invested in this year's Rumble.
Of course, we had Austin going for the win, but the casket match with Shawn and Taker, plus the interference from Kane we knew was going to happen had me on the edge of my seat. I was also really digging Rock vs Shamrock as well as the LOD vs New Age Outlaws so Royal Rumble is a pretty stacked card for me.
As far as WCW went. Luger vs Savage and especially Bret Hart actually wrestling had me interested there, but that card comes nowhere close to making me as excited as the Rumble does.
So, WWF for me

1998 is my favorite year in wrestling especially WWF. I’ll take the Royal Rumble

Rumble was better, but I would have picked WCW’s show because of the wrestlers on the card.Even though Sting wasn’t featured on the card I liked a lot more wrestlers in WCW at the time.
WCW’s card had in no particular order… Hart Flair Steiners Benoit Jericho Hall Nash Savage Hogan Luger Giant Booker T Martel
WWE had Triple H Austin Taker Rock HBK Road Warriors

The Rumble for me. To be honest it could have been 30 jobbers in the Rumble and I’d still choose it. Greatest event ever!
But absolutely loved the way Austin was being booked in the run up. Was also intrigued to see if Michaels could beat the the deadman at his own match as well. And the New Age Outlaws were particular favourites of mine at the time. They really epitomised the WWF attitude.

Tough one, I'm going to go with WCW, but it's really close.

Like many of you guys, Royal Rumble would win this every January for me.
However, not to derail this thread, but I hate what the Royal Rumble has become. It has become so watered down with multiple times per match everyone taking a knee in the corner so they can be out of the way for some spot in the middle ring and I know we are in the women's revolution, but I hate having two Rumble matches on the one card. They took something that was very special to me and basically made it not special at all, I am hopeful with Triple H in charge he can get some of that magic back.

I thought the rumbles where McIntyre won and Charlotte. Both that year were very good.

Rumble gets my vote. Even though it was obvious Austin was winning, it was the first time I would see a rumble match, back then, rumbles were always fun to watch even if the winner was obvious. Plus the casket match intrigued me as well.
